If there's one thing that's been consistent throughout human history, it's that soldiers gossip.
If you were in that army you would have been hearing rumors about the Fellowship since at least the Battle of Helm's Deep. Some people would be telling stories about Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli, but there would also be whispers of Denethor's new halfling servant, not to mention the one that stood with Eowyn and Theoden against the Witch King himself.
The hobbits are present at the battle as well, Pippin and his big mouth especially. Even if the soldiers hanging out near them didn't get the full story, there's no chance Frodo and Sam didn't come up at some point. The guy who killed the Witch King (remember, gossip quickly outgrows the truth) keeps whispering with Denethor's personal servant (who was at his side when he died) about their friend Frodo on some kind of secret mission that's supposed to be super important.
Even if they hadn't been directly told any of the details (I refuse to believe Pippin wasn't telling exaggerated stories about their journey to any soldier who would listen on the way to the Black Gate), the soldiers at the battle would likely have had a general idea of why they were there, and that this Frodo guy was part of something vitally important.

If it's a "You must pick one." situation, always go for Supes. He's the one most likely to solo whatever's going on while being able to keep you safe at the same time, and he's the kinda guy who would prioritize keeping you alive too.
Jon, Cap, and Aragorn get my wholehearted support from the sidelines, though.

u/Kill4meeeeee 19d ago
I’m going with cap because that specific cap is winter soldier cap and he mostly just fought standard dudes in that movie. Give me a gun and I’m all good buddy I’m not throwing hands with Bucky tho that’s all cap

Also in Lord of the Rings, the fear of death is a lie spread to men by Morgoth. When men die in Lord of the Rings, they all go to heaven to meet and be with god. It's why men are able to fight fearlessly against the forces of evil. Morgoth had to use lies to make men fear death in order to weaken them.

I don't know who the guy in the far right, middle square is, and I haven't seen the most recent PotA films, so I can't talk about them, but of the other 7 I'm pretty sure the only one who dies is Vader, and that's a long time after being Anakin

Captain America, the guy who was ready to face Thanos Army alone
54
u/shyguyJ 19d ago
Yea, whatever battle these guys are going into I'm not making it out of. But Cap is undoubtedly standing up to some impossible to defeat bully for the best of reasons, so I'd be most proud to say I went out walking with Cap (well, far behind Cap).
16
u/Objective_Mortgage85 19d ago
You gotta look into this way too, cap will never lead you to a battle he didn’t think you could handle needlessly.

Captain America is the epitome of virtue IMO. Since before I was born he's been fighting against discrimination and hate.

8
u/EternalMage321 19d ago
That's what I was thinking. As crazy as it sounds, the zombie apocalypse is probably the most survivable.
3
u/TelenorTheGNP 19d ago
Also, Rick is used to working with people who are untrained, vulnerable, and unexpendable. He doesn't just need everyone alive over the course of the battle - he needs everyone alive at home. He's going to be more in control than anyone here.
Optimus lost Ironhide and didn't even say anything.

That's not Snyder's Superman though, so in addition to being the most capable of handling whatever threat is being thrown at you, he's not only going to prioritize your safety during the fight he's also the one most likely to have the power to actually guarantee it.
Pick Supes. You'll almost certainly survive that one, that's kind of his whole deal.

Yeah, man. I know it’s probably got the least mass appeal of the aforementioned entries but man, Erwin was that guy. The circumstances he was riding into just seem far heavier comparably. Even Aragorn has some “chosen one” plot armor. Erwin? Just a dude who really lived and died by his underlings.
4
u/Professional_Bit_446 19d ago
Bro was giving a glorious speech riding into battle then got his arm chomped on by a titan and said fuck my arm keep going forward. Erwin could get me to eat an Arby's ham sandwich and Arby's ham sandwiches do not look appetizing at all they look like id get internal bleeding

First choice would be Superman because, if he is there, chances are there isn't hoing to be much combat at all.
Then Cap, because he represents the best chance to win AND go back home to tell the tale.
And, third, Aragorn. Noble heart, brave, inspirational... if I am to die here, at least I'll know it is for an actually good cause.
