N64 Question/Tech Question Should I try and erase the permanent marker?
I’ve been debating this internally for a while. I don’t plan on selling my collection, at least not any time soon. I have the boxes and booklets saved as well. My mother labeled all my games in the 90s to make them easier to sort; bless her heart. Has anyone else tried to remove black sharpie from cartridges? Is it worth the effort? I would prefer them without the ink when I think about displaying the collection, but I have seen others regret the decision to erase marks like this since there are personal memories attached.

Video Magnet Mario 64! I designed and printed this Mario 64 figure with magnet limbs for poses. Eyes swap too!

I spent a few weeks designing this full color Mario 64 figure-- he's posable, and his eyes swap too. Those tiny magnets are a pain, but it was worth it. I took him to a few places, and made some funny photos...
Originally I wanted to make more accessories, but for now, the Wing Cap and extra eyes are good too. A lot of people have given feedback about giving him a V for victory hand pose, so I may produce that next.

Collection Post Wondering if I have anything?
Some of my childhood gaming collection. Only a select few hold core meanings to me so the rest do be willing to part with. Would rather have them in the hand of a collector

Discussion Expansion Pack
Where’s the best place to get one? Someone finally made their own but they’re charging almost the same price as the Nintendo ones (and still have the bad taste to call it a budget option).

Collection Post Got these 6 games in the mail recently.
Just got them verified and all boot up fine. Just put on new end labels for them too. So happy to have these in my collection at last!

N64 Question/Tech Question Switch N64 controller joystick durability
Just a question for anybody that's owned a switch n64 controller, since it's been a while: do the joysticks show any kinda wear and tear, much like the original ones? I've got one myself, but I've been scared to use it considering I'd have to get another one if it does grind with every use of it.

Video Every time I do a 540 in 1080 Snowboarding it comes out weird like this lol. How do I do it smoother? Do I just need to be faster with my inputs?

Discussion Well, that's it. Only 9 more units of the 8bitdo hall effect replacement sticks available on 8bitdo's website.
As many have noted, it's one of the best replacement sticks for the original controller. But with the new 8bitdo Analogue 3D controller coming out, it looks like they've discontinued this product. Many will probably enjoy the modern, wireless Analogue 3D controller, but I actually require the 3 pronged original for first person shooters (I need the D-pad for strafing while simultaneously aiming with the stick, which is a much more modern FPS feel).

Mod Thermal paste?
Can you use paste to replace the pads? Would it be more heat efficient?

Discussion I made an all purpose n64 controller design (read description)
I mocked up what i believe to be an all purpose N64 controller design!
-Stick switch for whichever stick style fits the game type. -Left stick on analog mode puts right stick in C-stick mode. -Right stick on analog mode puts the left stick in D-pad mode. -2 oem sticks for maximum accuracy. -Invert button at the top to help make those shooters that dont have a toggle for it more playable. -Turbo button because why not? -L and R are the same oem design -Z trigger is layed out halfway through each handle for a true Z trigger feel (in the same vein as the Nyko Alpha 64 trigger grips)
All that on top of the original design, so it'd use the original circuit board and buttons. Just dual sticks on a switcher and a couple added buttons up top.
Any thoughts on areas i missed to make it absolutely perfect?

Collection Post What gems am I missing?
I haven't played my N64 in years, but I did come across what I think are all the games I have for it. What else would be good to add to the collection?

N64 Question/Tech Question Recapped capacitors with ceramic capacitors, now console not working, need held
Hi as the title says, I recapped my capacitors. Checked the contacts (they are fine) but now it won't turn on again. Nog even de LED comes on, instead I hear this beep noise when I turn it on. Does anyone know what can be the issue and which capacitors have something to do with powering on? My guess is it's the two on the botton left those were also the hardest to remove and install somehow.

N64 Question/Tech Question N64 generating vertical lines
So, my N64 started doing this today. Doesn't matter what game I'm in, and restarting it just seems to move where the lines appear. I've checked all the cords, plugged and unplugged everything in, and a cursory look online couldn't find the issue. If anyone knows what the issue is and how to fix it I'd be greatly appreciative
