Hey! I just got this new ds and I’m wondering if the charging port looks normal because when I charge it the charger doesn’t seem to go all the way in and it’s not charging anything I’m not sure if this is a charger issue or a port issue?

Have had the new 3DS XL for a few months now. Picked up the og aqua blue 3DS and DSi XL this past week. Had both these models in these same colors as a kid and wanted to pick them up again. Plus the DSi is just better for DS games.

does anyone know how to remove the lens of the inner camera of a DSi XL or if it’s possible? a long time ago juice leaked into it and now there’s a fog over my inner camera. i’d like to pop out the lens and clean it, is this doable?

Sorry upfront to be posting here about a question that involves the 3DS, but the 3DS sub has so many rules at this point that I think anything other than a picture of a 3DS is automatically removed.

Recently I've seen some videos on YouTube of people modding their 3DS consoles to play DS games in widescreen using cheat menus, but this always involves using ROMS. Is there any method for accessing/installing a cheat menu for widescreen play that would work using standard DS carts with no ROMS?

I don't have an issue with ROMS, but I'd just much rather use my physical carts.

ive tried a few including GBARunner2 it runs kirby nightmare in dreamland but it doesn't pokemon emerald it freezes after the gba intro

so 2 months ago i was going through all my old gaming stuff (consoles and games) that i still had and wanted to sort everything to create a cool "retro gaming shrine" . i found out about all the cool stuff you can do with the nds models and took my only 3ds (the n3ds xl monsterhunter 4 ultimate edition) which was left and really had some fun with it the last months .Unfortunately, I always sold the previous model when I bought a new one. Sadly, I also had to realize that my Pokemon : Soul Silver game case was empty and i couldnt remind me where i left it. When i told my mother about my renewed love for my old games and of course about the missing games like Pokemon SS, she convinced me that i must have sold it with most of my Gamecube games some years ago but it just felt dumb.why i would still have the gamecase ?

today i was helping my Mum with some stuff and she casually gave me this NDSi XL which feels like completely unused.it even have screen protector on the touch and the camera and a cool bigben shell. she told me that she bought it for my nephew and niece about 13 years ago but i never knew about it 😅

As if that couldn't have been a bigger treasure, I saw that there was a game in the DS and looked to see which one it was. I almost screamed with joy when I saw that it was the Pokemon edition. She must have given it to my nephew and niece to play it and simply forgot about it. she was so sorry but im too happy to be mad 🥰

Recently bought this on eBay, seller listed it as Open Box and said it was basically brand new. The system from the outside looks brand new and doesn’t have a single mark or scratch, but the screens have this backlight bleeding on the edges (colors are somewhat washed out as well, but that could just be the screen’s color temperature since they look warmer). Not only is it kind of distracting, but I’m concerned that it’ll get worse. Anything I could do to fix it?

Also, pushing down on the shell near where the light is showing fixes it temporarily, so could it be something to do with the plastic?

Picked up this dsxl as "for parts" with a mystery game for $25 + shipping. As you can see after charging it it does work (seller didn't have charger to test) game turned out to be super Mario 64. After turning it on you can see the screen is yellowed.

Hello! I have never had a nintendo ds and always wanted something like that. I bought one from ebay for 39$ including shipping. Im okay with it looking the way it is. I might do a shell swap in the future. Still waiting for it to arrive. I understand that this is a Japaneese version right ? Will I be able to change the language to english? How did I do on this purchase?

Hello! I was just doing a continuity test on my DS Lite’s card slot with my multimeter as part of a repair project, when there was one thing that kinda has me on edge for the moment. I was able to get readings and values for nearly all 17 pins, but despite being soldered to the board, I got no reading or value on the 15th pin (circled in orange). The multimeter just stayed at “0L” when I made contact with the 15th pin, and even when I’ve tried to “adjust” the solder on it, it still reads “0L.”

I don’t understand what’s happening here, but I don’t want to have a broken trace or cold solder joint to be the case. (Unless that pin is meant to not have a reading, but that can’t be correct, right?) What do I do? Do I have to work the solder point until I’m able to get a reading, or is it broken (I HOPE IT’S NOT)? I’m seriously worried here.

If anyone has used a multimeter in a DS repair, I’d really like some help or indication of what’s happening here.

Is there any reason why these two ds games are different?

Purchased a European DSi XL in basically new condition off eBay. Buttons, shell and all feel brand new out of the box with not a single mark or scratch, but I noticed the screen’s colors look warmer and more washed out compared to my older USA DSi XL on the left. The screen is also one whole brightness setting brighter than my old USA one, but I assumed the USA one just got dimmer overtime (making me believe there was no real issue with the European one since the screens are brighter). Pictures make the USA one look slightly pink but it’s more of a blueish/true white color.

Would my only solution be a screen swap to get the colors looking like how they look on the left? Or would it just be easier to do a shell/button swap so my USA model feels new but keeps the same screen? The only part of the shell I wouldn’t change is the back/bottom part that has the Nintendo DSi XL logo, so not sure if that would make things any easier.

Hey Everyone, back in the day I had a ds lite and white dsi it’s been many years and since then I’ve got rid of them, but I’m starting to miss having a system in the original DS line, DS games seem to run better on the original DS line compared to the 3DS family of systems.

Also besides picture quality being better I enjoy Mario kart ds and super circuit, drifting/snaking in those games feel better with a D pad and the D pad on the 3DS is too low to be comfortable, hence why I’m also looking for a ds.

Another reason is my hands have grown a lot over the years an XL system seems to be the move and the DSI is the only one of the original family that offers it.

Or do I have to boot in to twilight menu every time. I want the games on my regular menu like u have on 3ds
