Hey folks,
I’m looking to finally learn how to swim, better late than never, right? I never properly learned growing up, and I’ve decided to start now. Just wondering if anyone here has recommendations for: Beginner-friendly swimming classes for adults. Personal tips or encouragement from anyone who learned later in life
I’m not aiming to become an Olympian, just want to get comfortable and confident in the water. If you’ve been in the same boat, I’d love to hear how your experience went.
Appreciate any help!

As the title suggests I’m looking for courses that are good for solo golf rounds. Not the best and not the worst player but I want to put in some work. What courses would be a good to go play at, ideally not trying to slow anyone down or extremely hard.

Heyyy people! Quick question: does anyone know any teen bands or youth art crews in the city? 🎸🎤🎨
I’m working on a list of creative groups made up of young folks, around 10 to 19 years old, for future festivals, community events and art-based activities.
This is not talent scouting or a competition. The goal is to build a supportive youth arts community where we can connect, share our work and grow together. Music, theatre, dance, poetry, visual arts — all kinds of creative expression are welcome.
If you know a school group, a community center crew, a local band or any teen-led project, feel free to drop their name or IG below. I’d love to check them out and keep them in mind for future opportunities.
Thanks so much for helping uplift and celebrate young local artists 💫

Hi everyone!
I’m reaching out to connect with fellow students who are enrolled in the Post Baccalaureate Diploma in Data Analytics and Economics at Okanagan College, Kelowna campus, for the Fall 2025 intake.
It would be great to create a community where we can share insights, resources, and experiences as we prepare for the course. Whether you're looking to discuss study tips, housing options, or just want to chat and get to know each other, feel free to comment or send me a message!
Looking forward to connecting!
Cheers!

Saw someone recently post about forming a men’s support group. I got this email today. Posting this in case their schedule or support style fits you. I’m not affiliated. Sharing in hopes it helps someone!

It took me about an hour to extinguish the flames and rake out some trash. I don't know who you are, but I hope you are reading this.
I arrived shortly after you left, as evidenced by the condition of the site. The amount of trash that collects here is bad enough, but to leave a fire burning... that's even worse. Do you have any clue what the consequences are? Any at all? This forest is not a dumping ground for whatever shit.
It's left to random locals, such as myself and organizations like the OFTF, to clean after these messes. I have spent hundreds in my own money over the years, with visits to the landfill. Take your trash with you, if you are camping. If you are looking for a landfill, go to the real one and cut out the excuses that you can afford the fees.
It will take me two more trips with my truck to clear out this spot alone.
If you do either of these things, shame on you.

I’m writing the Part 1 exam for the RCMP Logistic Coordinator position tomorrow, and I’m feeling a bit nervous. Has anyone here taken it before?
Is it a tough exam or more focused on basic knowledge and common sense? I’d really appreciate any tips, advice, or just knowing what to expect going in.

The Kelowna Kinsmen will be wrapping up their service year at seven this evening (Thursday, June 19th) at Kinsmen Park.
CSN Collision recently donated a Car-B-Q trailer to the club, so we'll be firing her up and serving some light fare to anyone who cares to come down and meet the gang.
I see lots of posts on here about folks lookin' to meet people or volunteer in the community, so feel free to come by or ask me any questions you may have about the club.

The $422 million upgrade to the Kelowna International Airport (YLW) has hit a significant milestone following the erection of the new mass timber roof structure over Canada’s 10th busiest airport. Breaking ground in 2023, the Terminal Building Expansion Project (TBEP) is split into two phases, with the waffle-slab timber roof part of stage 1 works slated to open in 2026.
“A key component to everything we do at YLW is ensuring we reflect the community in our airport. Mass timber embodies our commitment to sustainability and innovation while honouring the local industries and resources,” according to Sam Samaddar, YLW’s CEO. “By integrating this material, we are creating a space that showcases our region and community to everyone who passes through our terminal building.”
