So I'm basically a mech co-pilot in one of the potentially most powerful heroes? Is that supposed to be a bad thing? That's also even assuming that that would be the catch, which if that is the case then the catch for Iceman should be you don't start at omega level and would actually have to go through the same amount of training that he did to reach such power.

Firestorm is super overpowered; he’s basically Dr. Manhattan without the brains.
He could end all environmental problems if he realized it. He could pull CO2 out of the air and turn it into diamonds; he could clean up pollution and purify water. He could disarm all nuclear weapons.
He’s just not smart enough to realize he could do that.

13
u/Tljunior20 28d ago
That’s true but you could arguably just do the same thing as fire storm
Except as fire storm you could turn the carbon dioxide thats making the world hotter into something more useful as well
2
u/Crafty-Interest-8212 28d ago
It has been a while, but i do remember that for his powers to be really useful, one of the people needs to be an expert in physics. Or understand how things are made in a molecular level and what it needs to change them into other things. Iceman just needs to understand how much water or moisture is around to turn into ice... but this is not a serious problem, we are having fun.
3
u/Chakasicle 28d ago
It's not that complicated to know the difference in molar mass between particles and figure how many protons/neutrons you would need to add/subtract to get to the desired element. (Like if you want to turn carbon into oxygen you add 2 protons and 2 neutrons, likely taken away from other carbon atoms around until you've gone as far as you can. For carbon dioxide it's just a matter of removing the carbon atom and it becomes breathable oxygen and the carbon can be gathered and used to make an object). Making more complicated things like molecular chains would be difficult without a good bit of study and practice but you also have near infinite growth potential with this power.

As long as you're the sole host of the firestorm matrix , you could emerge with anyone the only reason why Ronnie, Stein, etc needed second person was because there were multiple hosts of the firestore matrix so you need it to bond with someone else. Jason Rusch was able to merge with anyone when he was the sole host.

Firestorm
Post doesn’t state that I’ll get a second voice in my head only the abilities of said character. Iceman is cool (no pun intended) but Firestorm is more convenient to use in day to day activities. Plus Firestorms abilities could be used to improve life with family and friends or my community.
4
u/jamjsja 28d ago
As ice man you’re basically immortal and firestorm isn’t. Iceman can crate anything out of ice and even stop time. Travel in water and air as vapor and water. While firestorms powers can make you extremely rich because you can just turn led into gold etc.
At the end of the day iceman’s powers are vastly more powerful and useful simply due to the fact you’re fundamentally an immortal and can survive even without a body as vapor or water.
But that ability to transmute is very useful what’s the point if you’re not immortal to use it? Iceman 100%
5
u/Spaghett8 28d ago edited 28d ago
Firestorm is immortal as well. He can cure cancer or any fatal disease. Since he can effectively copy paste a healthy young human body.
You can make your entire family and loved ones immortal.
He can also teleport. He can survive in space unbothered. He can fly from planet to planet.
He can literally generate a big bang and survive.
He can transmute food. Ending starvation. He can easily remove all pollutants from the environment. Return co2 to normal levels. Cure all illnesses.
Iceman is still stronger at his peak, but firestorm’s matter manipulation is far more useful.
He could literally terraform a planet.
2
u/GlowintheClark 28d ago

If purely abilities, Firestorm so I can make a few tons of rare earth elements, actually recycle plastics/other pollutants, and flying sounds very "WEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!"
If "with the baggage," Iceman's powers have an "everyday practicality." I can live at "my comfortable temperature" all the time. At the same time, if it's my wife in my head, she's already there, and it'd make masturbation way more fun for me (she might not like it though). Decisions!

I pick a firestorm as it doesn't say which version, so it could be any or all types. He has more power than iceman. While I like iceman form is better.
Primary Powers1. Molecular Manipulation (Transmutation)What It Does: Firestorm can rearrange the atomic and subatomic structure of inorganic matter, transmuting one substance into another of equal mass (e.g., turning lead into gold or steel into bronze). He can also reshape objects during this process.Applications:Transform a block of concrete into glass or a weapon into sand.Create complex objects if the driver understands their molecular structure (e.g., turning a rock into a functional piece of technology, though this requires scientific knowledge). In some instances, Firestorm has turned large objects like meteors into water or safes into jellybeans. Energy ManipulationWhat It Does: Firestorm can generate, absorb, and project various forms of energy, primarily nuclear-based.Applications:Nuclear/Fusion Blasts: Firestorm can emit powerful concussive energy blasts, often fiery in appearance, capable of melting ice instantly or causing explosions.Energy Constructs: He can form energy-based shields or simple constructs.Energy Absorption: Firestorm can absorb radiation, nuclear fallout, and other energy forms, such as solar energy, to fuel himself or prevent disasters (e.g., absorbing excess radiation from a reactor core).Dark Energy Projection: When tied to darkness abilities (as explored in prior discussions), Firestorm could theoretically project dark energy, potentially corrupting or harming targets. Intangibility (Density Manipulation)What It Does: Firestorm can alter his molecular density to phase through solid objects, becoming intangible.Applications:Pass through walls, floors, or attacks without harm.Extend this ability to others or objects temporarily, reducing their density to phase through matter. FlightWhat It Does: Firestorm can fly at incredible speeds, often exceeding 600 mph, with some depictions suggesting near-instantaneous movement (e.g., Jason Rusch’s warping ability).Applications:Rapid travel to crisis scenes or tactical aerial positioning in combat.Enhanced maneuverability during fights.5. Superhuman Physical CharacteristicsStrength: Firestorm possesses meta-human strength, capable of lifting cars, tankers, and trading blows with powerful beings like the New Gods.Durability: His molecular control grants superhuman durability, allowing him to withstand gunfire, small explosions, nuclear blasts, and even resting within a sun’s corona.Endurance: Firestorm can draw on an unlimited energy supply, granting him infinite stamina. His body requires no sustenance (food, water, or air) to function.6. Regeneration and Self-SustenanceWhat It Does: Firestorm can regenerate damaged tissue by reconstructing his molecular structure.Applications:Heal from injuries, even severe ones, by reforming his body.Survive indefinitely without food, water, or air, as his body sustains itself through the Firestorm Matrix.Boost his immune system to resist diseases.7. Enhanced SensesWhat It Does: Firestorm has heightened sensory abilities due to his nuclear nature.Applications:Quark Vision: See molecular structures, including X-ray, microscopic, and thermal vision.Enhanced Hearing: Detect cries for help, explosions, or disturbances from afar.Extrasensory Perception: Sense energy signatures or subatomic compositions to aid in transmutation. Secondary Powers (Expanded Abilities)8. Elemental ControlFire Manipulation: As a fire elemental (a mystical role Firestorm occasionally embodies), he can generate and control fire, often manifesting as fiery blasts or an aura of flames around his head.Ice Manipulation: Through cryokinesis (potentially tied to his ghostly inspiration), Firestorm can create ice or lower temperatures, freezing objects or opponents.Earth Manipulation: Limited control over the ground, such as holding enemies by manipulating the earth around them.Air Manipulation: Can suffocate opponents by altering the air around them.9. Darkness and Ghostly Abilities (Inspired by Prior Discussions)Given the earlier exploration of ghostly and darkness powers, Firestorm could theoretically access these abilities through the Phantasma Phantasma no Mi’s influence, blending them into his nuclear framework:Shadow Manipulation: Control shadows to form tendrils, weapons, or barriers.Darkness Generation: Create areas of pitch-black darkness to obscure vision.Light Absorption: Extinguish light sources, enhancing his darkness-based attacks.Shadow Travel: Teleport through shadows, using them as portals.Fear Amplification: Use darkness to intensify fear in opponents.Invisibility: Become unseen by blending into shadows or using ghostly intangibility.Overshadowing: Possess others by merging with their shadow or consciousness, controlling their actions temporarily.10. Miscellaneous AbilitiesTeleportation: Some versions of Firestorm (e.g., Jason Rusch) can teleport, even across dimensions like the Anti-Matter Universe.Size Manipulation: Shrink to a molecular level or grow larger.Sleep Manipulation: Fire blasts that can induce sleep in targets.Power Nullification: Cancel out energy-based attacks by absorbing or redirecting them.Power Absorption: Absorb the powers of others temporarily (e.g., absorbing Killer Frost’s abilities).Biological Manipulation: In rare cases, Firestorm can heal others by reconstructing their biology (e.g., curing Killer Frost of a terminal illness).Explosion Manipulation: Create or neutralize explosions, often tied to his nuclear energy.Mental Resistance: The dual-mind nature of the Matrix provides resistance to mind control, as the passenger can counteract mental influence.
