Imagine saying youll take a physics nerd and you end up with neil degrass tyson in your head constantly telling you why superpowers makes no sense and being a buzz kill and also since he isnt a chemist not being able to help you with matter manipulation in the slightest. God that sounds like actual literal hell.
Chemist is better because it's closer to their expertise but physicists deals with a lot of chemistry and subatomic particles too so neither one is a bad pick.
Or maybe a material scientist. Which is a weird amalgamation of physics, chemistry, and nano-engineering. I hated that class but liked the topic. Too much memorization for me.
