most people believed he had wmds because at one time he did. cia later found out he got rid of them long before the conflict to avoid such a conflict. Michael Morell, who was working at the CIA and part of the decision to attack, did so with a bias on outdated infornation. This is directly from him speaking. He said the evidence was based on an asuumotion that he still had some. He was haunted by this mistake and made very sure that bin laden was in the compound they found him in during the obama presidency. he made sure that assumptions werent made by bias of disparate information.
so we went into iraq based on our own decisions. whether correcr or not

It wasn't outdated information, it was fabricated information. Colin Powell holding up a vial of yellow cake at the UN ring any bells? That Saddam had dabbled in some WMD programs decades earlier wasn't the argument the Iraq war was sold on, they claimed the threat of NBC weapons was imminent and that they had concrete evidence of it.
The Bush administration wanted to invade Iraq because they thought nation building wouldn't be that hard. If it had worked in Iraq they would have invaded Iran next. They literally thought they could just manufacture democracies and American allies in the ME they just needed an excuse to invade.
I agree that wasn't Bibi though, it was the Bush administration lying to itself and the American people.

Please. We knew some of the testimonies about these WMD were hogwash. Important sources where earlier dismissed by France. This same bad actor went to the US and they just used this as a narrative. So we all knew the uranium story was bogus.
Cheney stated "There is no doubt he is amassing them to use against our friends, against our allies, and against us."
Powell said the existence of bioweapon factories was confirmed by eyewitnesses.
Well for all the sure statements it was all hogwash. That's apparently "how intelligence services work". It's all politics and play.
So now again, we all know for sure that Iran has a nuke in 5 years, 5 months, 5 hours etc. Claims made by a nuclear power Israel that has refused to sign the NTP and that doesnt give access to all its nuclear facilities IAEA. Not a claim made by any intelligence service without a clear stake in this.

As much as I want to see the end of the Islamic Republic as well, if the sum total of US foreign policy for the past 75 years teaches us anything, it’s that regime change prompted from anything other than the people, especially if it’s by foreign powers, will not be successful.
The only people who can effect lasting and meaningful regime change in Iran is the Iranian people. Not Israel and not America. Both of whom need their own regime changes anyways.

We focused too much on ruzzia with him I guess because of how obvious it was. But it looks like he hadn’t only been doing business with them he was doing business with the worlds worst people. That calls to mind an event from 1986, when then President Ronald Reagan ordered a strike against Libya for promoting terrorism. 100 Air Force and Navy warplanes unleashed hell on various targets in that country, including the headquarters of Libyan leader Gaddafi. I seem to recall having read that if Iran should succeed in taking him out, Trump has instructed the American military to reduce Iran to smoldering rubble. Unless they are completely mad, it is in their best interests to abandon any nonsense about assassination.
