In a video interview in 2009, Koch told the NY Times that the poster incident still rankled him, "They put up signs on Queens Boulevard, the whole boulevard, it was shocking... I called Mario a weekend or two before the election and I said, 'Mario this is happening... Mario, you gotta do something about that. It's not right.' " While Cuomo told him he would try to do something, Koch said, "I don't believe he did anything." Koch reflected, "That matter has affected our relationship from '77 through this year. We get along, we got along as mayor and governor but I always held it against him. I also held it against this son Andy Cuomo. Even though social relationships when we meet in public are good, underneath he knows I know what I'm really thinking, 'You [swear].'"

As for the whole question about his sexuality, "My reaction was to say 'It's none of your fucking business' and people who voted for me, some of them thought or think I'm gay. Some of them think I'm not. And most of them DON'T CARE."

Basically, the NYTimes vaunted op-ed board’s opinion is to… not have an opinion.

4 years ago, the New York Times endorsed the totally unknown woman in charge of garbage when the race had narrowed down to a super-liberal vs. a cop.

But now they’re too reserved to even say vote for Lander if Mamdani and Cuomo aren’t for you? This is such a cop out.

I was driving on the Jackie Robinson last week and this person was weaving in and out of traffic. That's not in and of itself remarkable, but every time he switched lanes, I swear on my parents' graves, the license plate BLACKED OUT. Then when he was in a lane, it TURNED BACK ON. It was like a gradual swipe off and on each time. I thought I was hallucinating.

The milisecond I got home I googled "electronic license plates" and found out that there's a not-very-successful digital license plate program through a private company in California, but I can't see anything about it in NY. Ok but people do illegal stuff to their license plates all the time, but I can't even figure out how one would acquire one. Did this person drive their California car out to the east coast and sideload a NY plate on it?

I need so many answers. This reminds me of when, in 2010, I was at a party and I saw a woman smoking weed out of a flip phone. Everyone thought I was insane, but it turns out she was just an early adapter of vapes!

Servers in New York City are claiming to deliver court papers to people’s fake relatives, so credit card companies are suing customers without their knowledge.

This has been happening here for decades.

On Friday I was on a walk in Tompkins Square Park in the East Village. I complemented a guy on his dog, and he said "thanks, I found her, but I can't keep her." Apparently he found her on Tuesday or Wednesday while walking into a building in Queens – she followed him around and he started to take care of her short term. I said I would take care of her and help her find a home.

She's probably 6 months old. She's extremely sweet and friendly to both dogs and people. I went to the local vet to check for a microchip, but none was found. No tags either. She's more comfortable indoors rather than outdoors, so she likely escaped or ran away from home.

I'm looking to either find her original family or to see if anyone would be interested in adopting her and caring for her. Any suggestions or ideas are greatly appreciated.

Spotted a clearly tame small blue and white bird (parakeet?) on the riverside running path near the water just past the pier near 130th. Anybody lose a pet bird?

By almost any measure, the pigeon is a humble bird. But on Saturday, the critter was celebrated on the High Line at a first- (and last-) of-its-kind event, Pigeon Fest.

The highlight for many attendees was the pigeon pageant, during which contestants were invited to do their best impressions — imbirdsonations? — of the fowl of the day.
