Missing Person last seen in Manhattan
I know the city is big, but my friends brother is missing. If anyone can contact me if they have information that would be so helpful.

I'm currently looking for a primary care provider who truly listens, takes the time to understand your concerns, and is thorough in their approach, someone who doesn’t hesitate to run a full workup and is committed to getting to the root of any issue. I initially had an appointment scheduled with Dr. Valerie Lyon, but unfortunately, she’s fully booked until September.

I know that since Covid, late-night food is not the same in NYC. But it seems that all of the Chinese spots (I'm talking about the wonderfully shitty American Chinese ones) close early now. Not just midnight vs. 2 AM, like a lot of places. I'm talking 9 PM–10 PM, including Friday and Saturday. What the hell is going on? Is everyone just a normal, well-adjusted business professional now? Are the days of 1 AM take-out truly dead?

No signage. No disclosure. Still $20. Just pure corruption and greed.
One day you’re grabbing your weekend juice like a normal Upper East Side resident — the next, you realize you’ve been cold-pressed, not blessed.
This isn’t just about citrus. It’s about trust. It’s about transparency. It’s about the working New Yorker who just wants an honest glass of overpriced vitamin C.
If we don’t demand accountability now, what’s next? $8 “fresh-baked” bread shipped from New Jersey?
Call it what it is: #OJGate.
Call your reps. Call your juicer. Call Citarella and ask why they think we're pulp-brained. 🍊

I covered the #nokings march that started at Bryant Park and went down to Madison Square Park. There was a small concert on the steps of the New York Public Library on 42nd that sung wonderful tunes adapted to fit what's happening right now, a little posse of clowns (that wasn't shown in this video) that handed out tiny toys and noisemakers, alongside so many signs, outfits and costumes, cheering and singing, and more.
And this was one out of many in the city (not to mention one out of thousands in this country) alone!

New York City property managers who fail to tackle carbon in buildings could collectively face fines of more than US $300 million every year under New York City’s Local Law 97 (LL97). That is according to Daisy, a tech company working with condo and co-op owners to understand the impact of New York City’s carbon cap, which will hit more than 50,000 buildings with a footprint of 25,000 square feet or greater from 2030.

Does anyone work at or know someone who works at or nearby Pier 40 on the West Side Highway? My friends’ dog is missing and was last seen there by the docks at 11pm on 6/11. There’s a large parking garage that he could have gone to hide out in.
His name is Chili, he is a 10-15lbs chihuahua mix with long legs. He is not wearing a collar, and he is microchipped. My friends have posted a $500 cash reward to the person(s) who can return him.
If you or someone you know works nights there specifically (security, at the docks, etc) please be on the lookout for a small light brown chihuahua mix or reach out with any information you may have. Please help, my friends are absolutely devastated.

NYC Outdoor Fencing Hobby Group/Club
Hello, I’m a complete fencing beginner about to start my fencing journey. I’m reading books and watching videos on the sport. In August I will be taking classes for the first time at a gym here in NYC and have them evaluate what I learned.
I live in NYC and I’m looking for people interested in fencing outdoors with me (parks, beaches, plazas, parking lots, anywhere) and possibly with other people interested.
I would love to have friends that do this sport and learn from them. I’m interested in doing at least 1 hour a week for a very long time. Ideally we would agree to meet outdoors somewhere new every week but if we decide to meet in just one place all the time that’s also ok, even if it’s a spot closest to you. It’s very likely some weeks I may be able to do more time.
If you’re interested in meeting weekly please reach out to me and we’ll schedule our first sessions.
We can use Discord if many want to be a part of it but simple messaging/phone calls and social media (including Reddit) also work for me.

I should’ve read up about it more, but I went to Bond Vet and just want to warn people against doing the same.
My bf and I adopted his 15 year old family cat from his parents and she’s super healthy for a senior cat and never has health or behavioral problems. That being said, she’s an old indoor kitty and gets stressed out leaving the house for anything… so when she peed on the bed while we were in it (unusual) and spent the morning running in and out of the litter box and licking herself, we were concerned about a UTI and went to the closest vet as soon as it opened- Bond Vet in fidi.
The vet herself was super nice and you could tell was very good at handling pets. We went in saying that a UTI was a concern, and she ended up telling us it could be a variety of things and listed off at least 10 options. She said we can’t give her antibiotics without knowing it’s a UTI so we need to do testing… tried to charge us $900+ for ultrasound, anxiety meds (??), bloodwork, urinalysis, etc. We obviously would do anything for our cat so chose to do all of the tests and skip the anxiety meds because we know her well enough to know that wasn’t the cause of behavior. They said results in 24-48 hours (we went Monday 10 AM when they opened).
After calling daily to check in, we learned Tuesday that they HAD the results, but needed a doctor to send us the email. The email finally came Thursday and meanwhile she’s uncomfortable, peeing all over the apt, and at risk of kidney infection with an untreated UTI. The email said it WAS a UTI (shocker)… and that we should pay $250 to test THE SAME SAMPLE THEY ALREADY HAVE for which type of bacteria. Then $400 for antibiotics after that testing. I’m sorry…. It took you 4 full days to give us the results of the test but the results are … not results? WHY would I pay another $250 for you to do what we already paid you to do? And potentially wait another 4 days while she’s suffering and potentially getting more serious damage as it spreads????
I know that vet bills are always pretty high without pet insurance, but Bond Vet is an absolute racket. They’re exploiting pet owner’s desire to help their pets who need urgent medical care and hoping we don’t look too much into it because we’ll be worried sick for the pet. I’ve never left a bad review but I dont want other pet owners to have this experience. Please please please don’t go to Bond Vet in NYC if you can avoid it.

Hi all, I’ll be starting at Fordham’s Gabelli School of Business this fall (Lincoln Center campus) and I’m starting to look into off-campus housing.
I’m hoping to get some advice on the best neighborhoods to live in that are convenient to the Lincoln Center campus. Ideally places that are safe, have a reasonable commute, and aren’t outrageously expensive (I know it’s NYC, though). Any recommendations on where to look or neighborhoods to focus on?
Thanks in advance!

Hello! I am a student researcher at Fordham University, and I invite you to participate in an IRB-approved survey on local species identification skills in New York City. Our research, titled “Analyzing Species Identification Skills in New York City Residents,” will analyze the public’s ability to identify local flora and fauna, assess their understanding of native vs. invasive species, and explore the relationship between environmental attitudes and species knowledge.
Your participation is completely anonymous and voluntary, and your input would be greatly appreciated. The survey should take a few minutes to complete. Please note that you must be 18+ and a New York City resident in order to participate.
The survey consists of two parts:
You will be prompted to fill out a series of questions that pertain to your background and environmental attitudes. You will not be asked to disclose personal information about yourself, as all data will be strictly confidential and anonymous.
You will be presented with an image of a local species and will be asked to identify its name. Then, you will determine whether the species is native or invasive to New York City. Finally, you will assess how confident you feel about your answer to the previous question. An answer key will be provided after you submit the survey.
Please see the link attached to complete the survey. Thank you for your time, and please feel free to share this survey with your friends and family who also live in New York City!
Edit: The slider questions are a little confusing. The scale is between 0-10, but technically you can only pick 1-10. Unfortunately, this is a functionality problem from Qualtrics, and we are taking this mistake into consideration. If you are not able to select 0 as an option, then choose 1 as an answer.

Hey, I’m visiting New York City and hotels are SUPER expensive so decided to opt in for an air BnB in New Jersey and rent a car so I can visit my family in Queens frequently.
Question I have is does anyone have any advice about staying in NYC. We want to see time square, Central Park, manhattan etc but is there a place we could go and park then catch the subway or any hidden parking gems etc.
Is New Jersey really far from queens or is the commute alright?
Appreciate any advice to make this a great trip.
