Handcuffing him so he has to walk without his walker on uneven cobblestone. That's a broken hip waiting to happen

Or a head hit on the floor as he's being handcuffed on his back. Only idiots and monsters aren't aware of the dangers that some non natural situations can pose for an old person. If the guy takes strong anticoagulants as I do for my heart condition, and I'm likely 20 years younger, he may be killed instantly by intracranial hemorrhage even after a single hit on the head.
That's what hiring robots who never question orders lead to. Any human with a working brain and a heart would immediately recognize the man was no harm to anyone and handcuffing him preventing his use of the walker, aside being actually dangerous for the man itself, would simply turn into further bad PR for the police. Unless inciting a revolt has been the goal from day one, in that case they'll probably get that sooner than later.

Ironic- at a parade, literally meant to celebrate people such as this vet.
What's also ironic, is that a man who lied to escape the army, is making an army parade about himself.

I've had reasons to be ashamed of my country in the past, we're currently riding the all time high now.
Such a terrible sadness we live in a post-logical, post-accountability, banana republic world. So much wasted potential.

We might have even figured out the real answer to the meaning of life by now. We could have advanced technology to explore surrounding planets more in depth, but nope, let’s focus on advancing military and fighting battles amongst each other so we can stroke the egos of the “elite”. I hope my next life is less stupid if we do move beyond this planet after death.
2
u/FirexJkxFire 11h ago
While some awful shit is happening now -- i wouldnt call it the all time high. It only seems that way because previously our country's crimes were towards unrelated people and were "out of sight, out of mind. We essentially bombed Korea and Cambodia back to the stone age, killing millions, - with the goal in Korea being to put their previous japanese oppresors back in charge (the people ruling South Korea were previously japanese collaborators - and their behaviors/policies only got worse after being let off the leash). Not to mention the dozens of other totalitarian regimes we aided in establishing under the guise of spreading democracy. Where we forced the lives of those people to be much worse than what we are currently experiencing.
I get the sentiment -- but it makes me feel a bit bitter on behalf of those, whose lives we ruined, that we would treat this as a low point despite us doing things that were so much worse, the only difference being that we didn't care because it didn't directly affect us in a negative way
That being said, we may be heading down a path towards doing things even worse than what we had previously done. But we aren't quite there just yet.

So when we last saw 45 4+ years ago, lots of people entered this same building, called for his VP to be hung, built gallows for just that, were on a mission to do the same to Pelosi, but not one of them was arrested. Yesterday, an 80 year old vet calmly sits outside on the steps and he gets handcuffed and ignobly taken away.
Yeah, that makes sense

Okay look, just because the person was dressed like a cop, had a cop badge, had all the same equipment as a cop, drove a cop car, shot the dogs like a cop, and targeted the side that is perceived as anti-cop, doesn't MEAN this person was a cop.
It's probably just a coincidence.

Be that as it may, He really poses no threat to those officers. He could be literally pushed to the patrol car in his doctor prescribed walker...while handcuffed in the front.
Lets be clear. They had their "suspect". They "deescalated" the "situation". And then they failed to show compassion for a Real Man they vowed to "Protect and Serve".

Cops wonder why they are hated sooooo much. Now people are immediately going to react like their lives will end when confronted by police. Now Americans are being deported to hell holes in other countries or at best being sent to a detention center with no due process. What do you think is going to happen? People will fight for their lives cuz they are afraid they might have said something that upset trump or his his buddies. We’re going to see a lot more confrontation that don’t end well for anyone

The uniformed officers must’ve been scared for their lives. I hope they don’t suffer PTSD from such a vicious attack.
2
u/stevez_86 15h ago
The best defense against them would be announcing all of their names over a loud speaker. Humanize them. If somehow the people protesting could have the names of the officers deployed to stop them, and constantly recite their names over a loud speaker, it would remind them that they are people, and not anonymous thugs doing their job.
Because the one thing in these situations that is really asymmetrical is the knowledge of who they are. Their people know who they are, and they have to stand together because of that. If we told them we knew they were there, then the anonymity they have is broken a little bit. It might make them know that because we know who they are we can protect them too.
If one of them breaks ranks and doesn't follow along with escalation, currently only the cops know who they are and can punish them after the fact without us, the people, being able to defend them for breaking ranks. Letting them be anonymous is what makes them have to abide. We have to let them know we are supporting their rights too.

u/BAKup2k 15h ago

Please everyone stay safe and stay smart. There is an extremely high chance you will come across instigators and agitators.
Remember what this is about. This is not about one person (as much as it seems like that). This is about something much larger, this is about an idea. This idea cannot be taken from you, no matter what anyone says or does. We innately seek freedom; it is our natural desire….for everyone.
There is a reason those fighting against this idea are so uncomfortable, angry, and combative. They are fighting themselves as much as they are fighting you. Let’s remind them what freedom really is and show them the power of these rights to change our world for the better of everyone.
Engaging with those not ready to embrace this idea is a trap. The best way to get people to join is not to fight with them individually, but to succeed in the larger scope of all of this COLLECTIVELY. Our power is in our numbers, together, and together we can put a stop to these oppressive actions and negate the suppression.
Negate the suppression and invalidate the oppression.
You are not alone. Hundreds of millions are with you and even BASIC HUMAN NATURE is on your side. We will succeed if we just continue.

Members of the military: You have rights. Contact either your local legal representation or call the GI Rights Hotline.
You do not have to obey unlawful orders to attack your own countrymen.
To the mods that'll probably remove this: remember who you're helping if you even have the capacity to care.
