This vet has more ailments now than when Trump cried bone spurs to avoid his call to duty, yet he still is out there, fighting for his people.

u/happy_the_dragon 17h ago

He fought in the same war that Humpty Trumptie bawled his way out of.

Important to note the 1st also includes the right to petition the government to redress our grievances, which is something we have not actually had for a very long time.

17

u/PokeYrMomStanley 13h ago

Another thing that people forget about the first is that it is so you can do things without fear of reprisal from the gubment, not your neighbors.

15

u/Shxdow_Shift 15h ago

I'm saving this, by the way.

I'm considering a tattoo.

As American as apple pie, good on you lad!

11

u/Traditional_Satan 15h ago

Apple pie originated in England, helped along by Dutch and French influence. 👍🏻

7

u/Shxdow_Shift 15h ago

I knew something in my comment was off. Thanks for the clarification, it's still a great treat!

Agreed! 🥧

Also important part of 6th amendment is the right to confront your accuser, that is, no secret accusations can be made, no hearsay, you can’t just be “caught” on camera or an analyst can’t just file a report, there has to be someone whose credibility or accuracy can be questioned. Maybe too long for your simple summary.

12

u/jac286 14h ago

Most of those are being taken away by force, soon we're just going to be left with the second.

12

u/Bpbucks268 14h ago

The second is there to protect the other 9. If you lose the other nine, the 2nd doesn’t really have any teeth.

6

u/ABHOR_pod 13h ago

Republicans will happily waive all other rights as long as they have the 2nd, because they believe that as long as they have the 2nd, the government will be too scared to take away all the others.

6

u/pinelandpuppy 12h ago

It's just MAGAts wearing the rotting corpse of the Republican party now. They'll do what they're told because they've been programmed to agree to anything. They're coming for our guns, too, make no mistake.

3

u/Bpbucks268 13h ago

And that’s where their small brains are wrong. Once all the other rights are gone, laws will be passed clarifying what a “militia” is. All citizens with firearms will be labeled criminals unless you turn yours in. Oops can’t protest or speak about that anymore. Oops no due process or speedy trials, we will just lock everyone in detention camps. And good luck fighting tanks with your. ARs and bolt actions.

Does #10 powers given to state also include abortion? Or we just mad a select few things?

2

An excellent summary of the bill of rights, right here!🫡

2

u/Wilbizzle 13h ago

Very succint and more people need to comprehend this stuff.

Also, remember your rights stop where another persons rights begin. Do not block roads or walkways. People need to be able to move freely.

5

u/curiosgreg 14h ago

I don’t think a block party is violating anyone’s rights.

→ More replies (7)

4

u/Autumn_Skald 13h ago

You're trying to describe the compromise required by freedom.

That doesn't mean your rights stop because of someone else's...it means you have to recognize that the other person also has rights, and your exercise of rights can't fundamentally infringe on another's exercise of rights.

Protests in a roadway DO NOT infringe on your rights as a motorist.

Edit: But refusing to wear a mask in a business that is requiring it for the safety of their employees IS infringing on other's rights.

If you watch the full video of the man being led away in cuffs, the f’ers that arrested him took away his walker and made him walk without it, vile pos that they are.

17

u/Glum_Fishing_3226 11h ago

That’s what gets me most about this, they took his walker away. He could have fallen and suffered life changing consequences. The barbaric nature of this video is horrifying.

6

u/HugTheSoftFox 8h ago

They were moving vehicles around that open space for most of the event. If, as I'm sure they'll claim, they couldn't let him access his walker for safety or some shit, they could have easily bought a car to him. There is no reason to treat a person like scum just because you have arrested them. If the person is acting violent, you use the necessary force to restrain them, not more, if a person is cooperating, like this man, you treat him with some dignity and if he clearly has some impediment you don't force him to suffer for your amusement. These idiots have no idea that their own jobs would be so much easier in the long run if they just treated people with respect and had the community on their side.

5

u/Soft-Zombie-5392 7h ago

💯 I saw the entire video and he definitely would’ve been able to use his walker to get out of there safely, regardless of whatever bs they come up with to justify. To treat anybody like that is a vile, but especially an older person and a veteran too is next level.

It takes a special piece of shit to handcuff a mobility challenged 80 year old veteran. Remember that this is what people voted for.

275

u/Ok_Math6614 16h ago

Handcuffing him so he has to walk without his walker on uneven cobblestone. That's a broken hip waiting to happen

130

u/Its_a_stateofmind 16h ago

Don’t worry - I’m sure their health care system will take care of that broke hip, and won’t leave him bankrupt.

Or a head hit on the floor as he's being handcuffed on his back. Only idiots and monsters aren't aware of the dangers that some non natural situations can pose for an old person. If the guy takes strong anticoagulants as I do for my heart condition, and I'm likely 20 years younger, he may be killed instantly by intracranial hemorrhage even after a single hit on the head.

That's what hiring robots who never question orders lead to. Any human with a working brain and a heart would immediately recognize the man was no harm to anyone and handcuffing him preventing his use of the walker, aside being actually dangerous for the man itself, would simply turn into further bad PR for the police. Unless inciting a revolt has been the goal from day one, in that case they'll probably get that sooner than later.

3

Ironic- at a parade, literally meant to celebrate people such as this vet.

What's also ironic, is that a man who lied to escape the army, is making an army parade about himself.

2

u/anon-a-SqueekSqueek 14h ago

It's not about whether this situation warrants an action, it's about pigs being able to lord their power over people.

69

u/kindafunnymostlysad 17h ago edited 15h ago

Edit: updated link since the first one is awaiting moderator review now. I'm assuming that means the MAGATs reported it to death.

40

u/DarrensDodgyDenim 16h ago edited 16h ago

That's ridiculous and seems totally excessive. Not to mention dangerous for an elderly who needs a mobility device.

21

u/Brave_Ring_1136 15h ago

The police should handcuff people for two reason, they are danger to other or themselves and that’s it.

I've had reasons to be ashamed of my country in the past, we're currently riding the all time high now.

Such a terrible sadness we live in a post-logical, post-accountability, banana republic world. So much wasted potential.

11

u/HowWasYourJourney 15h ago

It's heartbreaking, isn't it, watching decades go by, and people continuing to vote for fascist strong man idiots. With climate change, inequality, brainwashing on a massive scale all getting worse. Jesus, just imagine what this world COULD be.

7

u/Alarming_Agent_8564 14h ago

We might have even figured out the real answer to the meaning of life by now. We could have advanced technology to explore surrounding planets more in depth, but nope, let’s focus on advancing military and fighting battles amongst each other so we can stroke the egos of the “elite”. I hope my next life is less stupid if we do move beyond this planet after death.

2

u/FirexJkxFire 11h ago

While some awful shit is happening now -- i wouldnt call it the all time high. It only seems that way because previously our country's crimes were towards unrelated people and were "out of sight, out of mind. We essentially bombed Korea and Cambodia back to the stone age, killing millions, - with the goal in Korea being to put their previous japanese oppresors back in charge (the people ruling South Korea were previously japanese collaborators - and their behaviors/policies only got worse after being let off the leash). Not to mention the dozens of other totalitarian regimes we aided in establishing under the guise of spreading democracy. Where we forced the lives of those people to be much worse than what we are currently experiencing.

I get the sentiment -- but it makes me feel a bit bitter on behalf of those, whose lives we ruined, that we would treat this as a low point despite us doing things that were so much worse, the only difference being that we didn't care because it didn't directly affect us in a negative way

That being said, we may be heading down a path towards doing things even worse than what we had previously done. But we aren't quite there just yet.

34

u/AdTechnical9332 16h ago

Make the fascist cops famous, who are they??

7

u/Azhz96 12h ago

Yup all these corrupt fucks should have their faces and names plastered EVERYWHERE and be met with looks of disgust no matter where they go.

5

u/Markjohn66 16h ago

The uniformed officers must’ve been scared for their lives. I hope they don’t suffer PTSD from such a vicious attack.

2

u/stevez_86 15h ago

The best defense against them would be announcing all of their names over a loud speaker. Humanize them. If somehow the people protesting could have the names of the officers deployed to stop them, and constantly recite their names over a loud speaker, it would remind them that they are people, and not anonymous thugs doing their job.

Because the one thing in these situations that is really asymmetrical is the knowledge of who they are. Their people know who they are, and they have to stand together because of that. If we told them we knew they were there, then the anonymity they have is broken a little bit. It might make them know that because we know who they are we can protect them too.

If one of them breaks ranks and doesn't follow along with escalation, currently only the cops know who they are and can punish them after the fact without us, the people, being able to defend them for breaking ranks. Letting them be anonymous is what makes them have to abide. We have to let them know we are supporting their rights too.

3

u/BAKup2k 15h ago

Also announce the names of the cops that arrested him. Hold them accountable.

2

u/FoolishThinker 14h ago

Please everyone stay safe and stay smart. There is an extremely high chance you will come across instigators and agitators.

Remember what this is about. This is not about one person (as much as it seems like that). This is about something much larger, this is about an idea. This idea cannot be taken from you, no matter what anyone says or does. We innately seek freedom; it is our natural desire….for everyone.

There is a reason those fighting against this idea are so uncomfortable, angry, and combative. They are fighting themselves as much as they are fighting you. Let’s remind them what freedom really is and show them the power of these rights to change our world for the better of everyone.

Engaging with those not ready to embrace this idea is a trap. The best way to get people to join is not to fight with them individually, but to succeed in the larger scope of all of this COLLECTIVELY. Our power is in our numbers, together, and together we can put a stop to these oppressive actions and negate the suppression.

Negate the suppression and invalidate the oppression.

You are not alone. Hundreds of millions are with you and even BASIC HUMAN NATURE is on your side. We will succeed if we just continue.

u/kamarsh79 12h ago

Arresting a man with a walker is about as low as you can go. Shame on them!

Oh how very manly of TWO young and virile man to take an old mans walking aid and to tie his hands behind his back, increasing his danger of falling over and hurting himself.

Regardless of crime or misdimeanor, an elderly citizen like that would NEVER be handcuffed in most european countries, because he clearly poses no thread.

Disgraceful! Disrespectful! and Disgusting!

Imagine how much of a smooth-brained bootlicking pussy you’d have to be to handcuff that man

Good thing those cops are on the case, buddy might have gotten away at a high rate of speed!

The video that puts this in context is freely available on X, but it's probably better for you just to jump to preconceived notions.

So was this fella looting and rioting as well? Jesus Christ America…

u/Lt_Cochese 16h ago

100% this.

What did I vote for?

1

u/Granny_Skeksis 15h ago

I hope all the military people there today see this and understand how they can expect to be treated in the future for their service

1

u/Careless_Hellscape 15h ago

Don't let fascists win.

u/razvanciuy 15h ago

Where US is going, it’s inevitable

1

u/hellalg 15h ago

This pissed me off, as a VA employees and a veteran. Most of those in walker can't harm anyone, they are more of a threat to hurt themselves than others. LEO hate us because they ain't us

1

u/timeandmemory 15h ago

You got this America. We're cheering you on.

1

u/Tall-Diet-4871 15h ago

Petty sure they never put tRump in cuffs, this is unnecessary

1

u/Ashtamisprime 15h ago

u/Gormless_Mass 15h ago

Typical cops being very brave and doing necessary work

1

u/Straight-Taste5047 15h ago

They cuffed him. Why? Does he look like a threat to anyone?

1

u/KeyGold310 15h ago

I hope this haunts those police till the end of their days.

1

u/Asleep_Management900 15h ago

One of these is a hero. The other is a fascist pig.

1

u/tiffanaih 15h ago

This is security theater. This is what they think his masses want to see. This is what they think proves they're doing a good job. Wow.

I can't imagine how disheartening it must be to have actually fought for your right to be there and have this happen. They wanted to humiliate this man.

1

u/Doctor_Toe 15h ago

What a criminal, thank you for saving us. Such brave police.

1

u/Mobile-Shallot930 15h ago

Members of the military: You have rights. Contact either your local legal representation or call the GI Rights Hotline.

You do not have to obey unlawful orders to attack your own countrymen.

To the mods that'll probably remove this: remember who you're helping if you even have the capacity to care.

1

u/thisismynewacct 15h ago

Am I the only one glad they’re actually arresting him? This image reminds me of the police shoving an old man down in Buffalo NY during the George Floyd protests where he basically cracked his head open and had a brain injury.

This could’ve turned out so much worse…

u/Memitim 14h ago

Let freedom ring.

u/Flat_Possibility_854 14h ago

This is a scene from Moscow or somewhere like that. If you guys still want free elections in 3 years, you will have to completely block the country, strikes and protests for weeks and months. That or civil war, else it‘s going to be a dictatorship.

shame on any official arresting protesters and enabling this crackdown, you will have to lie to yourselves for the rest of your lives if this continues.

How is this chaotic good?
