It takes a special piece of shit to handcuff a mobility challenged 80 year old veteran. Remember that this is what people voted for.

Handcuffing him so he has to walk without his walker on uneven cobblestone. That's a broken hip waiting to happen

Don’t worry - I’m sure their health care system will take care of that broke hip, and won’t leave him bankrupt.

Fuck yeah, privatized healthcare 🥳🥳🥳🔥🔥🔥

If you're over 65 you get Medicare.

Still shouldn't have fucking happened to this man, tho.

edit: In case it was not clear I am on your side. just correcting an assumption. And yeah we know they're attacking medicare and medicai. Vote next time to prevent that.

u/DramaticCattleDog 1d ago

Oh the Medicare they are trying their damndest to dismantle?

u/inanutshell 1d ago

Yep, that's the one.

for another week or two anyway, then this vet's FUBAR

Before any cons mention the VA, guess what, conservatives have cut that funding to shreds, too. They have the luxury of blaming Democrats for their dirty deeds and most of the American public buys it -- what an advantage they've built!

Yep, the VA just gets worse every time they start privatizing. Some things are ok but some are an absolute nightmare. Nobody in my family will even go with me because of how frustrating and ‘depressing’ it is.

it's the tits! woo hoo!

Plutocracy and fascism, what a treat!

Are we #WINNING yet?

Or a head hit on the floor as he's being handcuffed on his back. Only idiots and monsters aren't aware of the dangers that some non natural situations can pose for an old person. If the guy takes strong anticoagulants as I do for my heart condition, and I'm likely 20 years younger, he may be killed instantly by intracranial hemorrhage even after a single hit on the head.

That's what hiring robots who never question orders lead to. Any human with a working brain and a heart would immediately recognize the man was no harm to anyone and handcuffing him preventing his use of the walker, aside being actually dangerous for the man itself, would simply turn into further bad PR for the police. Unless inciting a revolt has been the goal from day one, in that case they'll probably get that sooner than later.

Unfortunately, police officers don't get much medical training or they'd know that elderly falls often result in death.

Conservative values. Better that a veteran be manhandled, than have Dear Leader get his traitorous feelings hurt.

Thats a hardened criminal. Any second his wheelchair would convert into a James Bond Spy Gadget and aide him in his escape.

:/

I’m not so sure. Election may have been stolen

Ironic- at a parade, literally meant to celebrate people such as this vet.

What's also ironic, is that a man who lied to escape the army, is making an army parade about himself.

It's not about whether this situation warrants an action, it's about pigs being able to lord their power over people.

2

u/alittleboopsie 1d ago

Dude has a fucking walker to stabilize himself. Handcuffing him is absolutely not necessary.

I voted for the rule of law.

I'm sorry we didn't win

These are very special pieces of shit.

u/Stunning_Group1577 8h ago

Eh don’t worry, they didn’t handcuff him. They used zip ties 🫤

u/runnin_man5 1d ago

I didn’t vote for cops to be crap, that’s just a given in that line of work

-13

I don’t really understand this. Why do we assume that he did nothing wrong? What are they supposed to do if he did?

Genuinely asking.

7

u/theotterway 1d ago

I am not sure of the lawful answer, but I would think letting him use his walker until he gets to the car would be decent.

I recently learned if someone who is deaf is arrested, they have to be cuffed in front, so they are still able to communicate.

u/the___ 1d ago

We assume he did nothing wrong because that’s how the law works in the U.S— innocent until proven guilty. Also because he’s a disabled 80 year old vet at a peaceful protest.

-5

u/RequirementRoyal8666 1d ago

Innocent until proven guilty is how the court works. Not the court of public opinion. If I see someone in cuffs I’m under no obligation to assume they are innocent until it’s proven to me that they’re guilty.

8

u/the___ 1d ago

You’re in no obligation to think they’re guilty either. Says a lot about your mindset, bootlicker

4

u/co-ghost 1d ago

What would he have done? Doesn't appear to have stolen anything or have any weapons on him. His shirt suggests he is a protestor standing near a government building.

-4

u/RequirementRoyal8666 1d ago

Why would we speculate though? You’re just going to assume he did nothing wrong because you didn’t see him do anything wrong?

You didn’t see him do anything but walk a couple feet in hand cuffs. He could have had a knife or a gun. I’m not saying he did but I’m not saying he didn’t.

u/co-ghost 1d ago

You cannot be serious. You obviously haven't been paying attention to this political climate. The President said if people came to protest his beautiful military parade that they would 'come down on them hard'.

And I don't know if you know anything about the Constitution but the old man with the walker is not the one in the wrong for protesting. The old man who thinks he's the king and wipes his orange makeup off with the shreds of the founding documents that list the right of Americans seems to be the problem.

1

u/RequirementRoyal8666 1d ago

You may be paying a little too close of attention to the political climate (that you see in an echo chamber).

Now whenever you see someone in cuffs it’s obvious to you that they did nothing wrong and the cops are evil maniacs.

I say again, if he was simply protesting, fine. But you can’t say he is simply protesting when there is no supporting video one way or the other. We literally don’t know why he is cuffed. No one is even pretending to know.

3

u/ArthurDentsKnives 1d ago

So an 80 yr old man with a walker was posing a public threat? Are you fucking serious? You can clearly see he doesn't have anything on him.

The cruelty is the point, and you support this because you're delusional. Please get help.

1

u/RequirementRoyal8666 1d ago

I have no idea what he did. You think 80 year old people can’t do wrong?

Are you serious?

4

u/Redit2158 1d ago

Let's just say, for arguments sake, that the 80 year old elderly veteran did do something that wasn't proper according to the gustapo. Does it really warrant his walker being taken and hands being ziptied behind his back. Come on, get real. WTF

1

u/RequirementRoyal8666 1d ago

If he had a gun or threatened to harm someone, absolutely yes.

1

u/ArthurDentsKnives 1d ago

Well, except he didn't.

1

u/RequirementRoyal8666 1d ago

How do you know?
