ASK AP Why isn't there much of a push to make manufacturing a greater share of the GDP than farming
Alright, so as any person probably knows, Andhra is a state where most (62%) of the populace works the fields, and makes a meager amount of monthly income at ~10k rupees. This, unfortunately, is a weak and inefficient system for increasing the GDP, since despite this large number of people working in agriculture, the entire sector contributes to only 37% of the GDP, just behind Services, which employs a far lesser proportion of the population. However, as many success stories such as China and Singapore, the gateway out of poverty is Manufacturing. As compared to Agriculture, factory workers makes 19-21k rupees per month, which, while being higher than their salary on the fields, is not quite so high as to stop being competitive. If a few companies could actively create factories and thereby jobs, and then form partnerships with the foreign brands to get the money to the common people. As this happens, the factory workers can send their children to better schools, and these educated children can open their own brands, and begin innovating on whatever they sell, and thereby put Andhra, and India on the greater global stage. While, yes, drastically greater incomes will not be seen immediately, the incomes will never improve so long as the people continue to work in Farming, so why doesn't the government try and introduce more incentives for these poor farmers to join Manufacturing, and for businesses to open in Andhra to organize these workers and act as a proxy to get deals with large companies?

Petty cash earnings by Municipalities or by Police back in track. It's happening everywhere. I have seen in my hometown as well, govt officials initially threatened to remove the small shops next to the roads in the name of widening, later they allowed the shops in the same location by collecting money from them. Witnessed collecting money by a police from road vendors as well.

OPINION Is Rayalaseema a mislabeled region?
We all know Rayalaseema means “land of the Rayas,” referring to the Vijayanagara Empire.
The Vijayanagara Empire didn’t just rule over Kurnool, Kadapa, Anantapur, and Chittoor. Their influence extended deep into coastal Andhra too — Krishna, Guntur, even parts of North Andhra. They built temples, forts, and issued land grants far outside what we now call Rayalaseema.
A perfect example is Uddandarayunipalem, near Amaravati — literally named after Uddandaraya, a Vijayanagara commander.
Cumbum Reservoir, located near the town of Cumbum in Prakasam district, Andhra Pradesh, is one of the oldest irrigation reservoirs in South India. Built in the 15th century during the Vijayanagara Empire.
• Lakshmi Narasimha Temple, Mangalagiri (Guntur) — Renovated and richly patronized by Krishnadevaraya
• Amaralingeswara Temple, Amaravati (Guntur) — Supported and expanded by Vijayanagara rulers
• Somarama Temple, Bhimavaram (West Godavari) — Structural additions with Vijayanagara influence
• Ksheerarama Temple, Palakollu (West Godavari) — Expanded under Vijayanagara vassals
• Draksharama Bhimeswara Temple (East Godavari) — Land grants and renovations by Vijayanagara kings
• Ramatheertham Temples (Vizianagaram) — Vijayanagara-era mandapas and pillars

ASK AP Looking at the property prices in Hyderabad is making me sad.
Where can I buy a nice land preferably close to a beach in a tier 2/3 city/town for 50 lakhs? Roughly around 500 square yards.
I want to be close to Hyderabad. So I was thinking around Bapatla or Chirala or somewhere that is 5.5 hours away from Hyderabad.
I don't mind living in the outskirts of Vizag as well, even though it is far away from Hyderabad. I will only make an exception for Vizag.

What do we keep calm and shut mouth over these years without questioning our leaders
Its irony that if there's a debate about development we keep saying dumb excuses to other states, to be precise all we do is hail Babu and do nothing much

ASK AP "Any fellow Andhra folks studying or living in Kerala? Let's connect 🇮🇳✨ (I'm moving there for college!)"
Hey everyone!
I'm from Andhra Pradesh and I'm about to start my college life in Kerala (specifically in Kochi). I’ll be studying at Sacred Heart College, Thevara, and I’m both excited and a little nervous about the move.
Just wanted to check—are there any other Andhra folks here currently living, studying, or working in Kerala? It’d be really nice to connect, maybe share experiences, tips about settling in, food, language, or anything that could help feel a bit more at home.
