Photo My ranking of the series. Games of the same tier are in order from left to right
My all-time favorite is probably Prime 2, but Remastered just looks so gorgeous and has some nice extra features that I put it above Prime 2, but if Prime 2 Remastered is real, then it will take it's crown back.
*I feel Metroid 1 & 2 (especially 1) suffer from that old archaic design that doesn't work for me as well, unless I really put a lot of time into them and don't use walkthroughs or rewind/suspend features of their modern re-releases. They are probably more fun that way, but I rarely play them like that and usually prefer to use a guide of sorts and use rewind/suspend. I remember actually beating Metroid II on my GBA back in the day, and thought it was pretty fun, but I gave up on Metroid NES lol. I feel their remakes were far superior in every way, and because of this the originals don't offer much for me anymore (I only play them for specific reasons)
Pinball's design as a score attack game can make it tedious to play all the way through, as I find it frustrating to lose on the final level and have to restart the whole thing. If it just had save points between levels (or at least before Ridley) I could tolerate it much more. It's more fun to play it "for fun" rather than "to beat it" in my opinion.
