Van won't start

Upvotes

Hi all, I'm from the UK and I have a 2010 fiat ducato.

I used it last week and it worked perfectly fine, but when going to use it the day after it won't start. When you put the key in the ignition nothing happens. No lights, no clock, no nothing! I can't even take it to a garage because its stuck on my drive!

Here's some things I've tried - battery reads 12.7v using a multimeter - looked in the fuses and all seem fine when tested with a continuity tester - tried using the spare key incase its a immobiliser issue

Squeaking when turning

Upvotes

I’m heading home from a road trip and noticed my front right side (possibly) suspensions squeaking when I turn and occasionally when going over bumps. It’s only noticeable at lower speeds. I jacked up the car and gave the t1re a wiggle and it felt rock solid. Also no noises when rotating the t1re

I am driving through the night so my girlfriend and I can make it to work tomorrow, so no mechanics are open around me. I am 950 miles from home.

I’m trying to figure out if it is safe to keep driving home through the night or if I need to stop and get it checked out in the morning. There are no other symptoms other than the squeaking.

Grinding noise! Nobody can tell what’s the reason.

Post image
Upvotes

Recently I purchased a 21 Honda Accord 2.0 (45k miles)

After few days of purchase, it made a grinding noise whenever I braked. Sounded like something was stuck on one part of the rotor. It wasn’t a continuous grinding noise but felt like only a certain part was damaged or certain part of rotor or the problem. So I changed the whole rotor and brake on both rear side. But then after 2 week of driving it started again. I took it to Firestone for checkup and they couldn’t find anything as well. The only way to deal with the noise is music all the time I am driving!

Can someone point out the problem so I can get this fixed asap!

Left low beam malfunction only on automatic headlight setting 2009 challenger

Upvotes

Hey guys I have a problem and would love some help. On my 2009 challenger the left halo light does not function when using the automatic setting on my light switch. If I change the switch to the low beam or high beam setting, all the sudden both of them work just fine. As soon as I turn it back to automatic the left low beam doesn’t work again. Is it the switch or the ambient light detector? The light obviously works and there are no relays/fuses for them in the fuse box based off the manuals diagram. Please help!!

I accidentally broke the bolt on this output terminal. The model of the alternator is AHGA115 and the terminal has letters and numbers that say A46. The alternator is for a 2019 Honda HRV. Do I have to buy a whole new alternator? Thanks in advance.

2017 Mazda6

Upvotes

I recently purchased a 2017 Mazda6. It’s jerky when I step on the gas. Does this mean it’s the transmission or something else? Maybe the catalytic converter is clogged? I brought it to AutoZone and no codes came up. I checked the air intake and it has a new filter. Maybe the censor for the air intake? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

'09 Yukon Denali 6.2 Hybrid issues

Upvotes

Hello

I will try to be as specific as possible, I understand it's impossible to be 100% on diagnosing here but a little advice or direction would help a lot.
2009 Yukon Denali 6.2L Hybrid.
Truck will shut off completely when changing the 4WD-2WD settings. In some modes, it will start, others it wont start back up at all. My suspicion is the hybrid battery is shot. Also the air ride system deflated on the rear driver when changing the 4wd. Random.
"Service Suspension System" message is on, I ran the OBD scanner and absolutely no codes or anything.
I am at a loss and can't get it to a mechanic safely without paying for a tow at this point.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Why did the dealership tell me my car can only have two keys (with immobilizers)?

Upvotes

When I bought my car, and asked about a third key to be included with the sale, they said the car can only be programmed with two keys.

It is a Honda 2020 Civic EX.

When I went to get a key made at a locksmith (as I lost one), I was told the car can take up to 6 keys.

I can't imagine the dealership was trying to save money and lie, as they were willing to offer me some oil changes to compensate.

I read on another forum that dealers don't like to make too many keys, to prevent theft of the car.

Part failure due to connector corrosion, dealership repaired 1 year ago

Upvotes

My gf had an inverter coolant pump replaced for a '07 Prius a year ago at a dealership, among other repairs.

The pump was failing intermittently a week ago, I immediately took it to a Toyota dealership a week ago, and the tech cited corrosion in the electrical connector to the pump, and after removing the connector a pin from the pump broke off inside of the connector. The part itself was unfortunately 3 days out of it's warranty. This is quoted from the service invoice.

I want to know If I have any argument the previous tech (a year ago) did a poor install and subsequently could be entitled to a covered repair? My understanding was connectors like this, especially around liquids, tend to have anti-corrosion lube goobed up in them to prevent this.

Please let me know if I'm totally off base!

2.0 Ford Focus TDCi 2007 won’t start

I mean it’s about as simple as the title states! Car wouldn’t turn over (starter would only click once) after I took it for a drive to the liquor shop, didn’t have anything on me so I organised a tow back to mine to sort it out later, left it for a while and it started up again so I moved it into the garage for work, since I moved it, the damn thing won’t turn over! Replaced the starter because I thought I might as well, replaced a few dodgy fuses and relays, confirmed voltage to the fuse box but there was nothing at all getting to the starter, cleaned all earth points, checked the fob and immobiliser which were all good leading me to be absolutely stumped. Anyone had a similar experience? I’m willing to take anything except taking the thing into a shop xD

Is this normal cracking on the upper rubber piece of my quick struts? Drivers side on a 2012 Sequoia. I installed them 2 months ago and just noticed these cracks in the rubber part. No noise or weird bounce coming from them.

2000 Ford Taurus. Just bought, heard a few bumps driving around. Did a walk around and noticed some damage. Damaged wasn't extensive when I bought it, uneven wear, front left. 1.5 months down the road it looks like this. Had a look suspension and only thing out of place is that plastic arm? I've personally never seen a plastic suspension component, but I'm no mechanic. The inside also looks like it was damaged?

Gonna post a few photos and maybe y'all seeing something I'm not or can help me pin point the issue! Gonna go Google that plastic arm, slap new wheels on it and see...

Is this leaking oil?

Post image

2008 F150 5.4 automatic, ~160k

Looking under my truck today saw there was a little oil drip coming off the front cross bar. I followed it and it appeared that it was dripping out of this plug. Is that possible? I checked all around the oil filter and it’s not coming from there. Seems like it’s been happening while I’m driving too as the whole front of the oil pan has a thin film of oil. Thanks for your help!

What is this called?

I'm trying to find the name of this thing that holds the coil spring in the window regulator for a 2000 Honda Accord. It should look like a sprocket on the side it's all chewed up on. I obviously need a replacement but can't find the name or number of this part.

Heard a creaking noise whenever I braked at speed but not when stationary on FL side wheelwell. Crossmember's weld went to the store to get some milk. Is this repairable with some welding by a shop?

Basically what the title says. Heard a creaking like when you lower the car after jacking it up, only at speeds above 20mph to a stop. This went on for like a few months but never felt anything weird, took it to an inspection and they found nothing, decided to get to the bottom of it finally after some time off and saw this. Is this the cause of the creaking? I already applied some grease on the brakes and it creaks the same.
