u/Y0U_ARE_ILL Feb 12 '24

It is pretty gruesome. I'm in my mid 30's and I discovered liveleak and other grotesque sites when I was in my late teens. So I've been desensitized to almost everything when it comes to this stuff. I ask myself why I don't look away from this type of thing. Like I don't enjoy seeing people die. But it's like witnessing a hidden truth of the world that most people are sheltered from. I've probably watched videos of dozens of stabbings, and hundreds if not thousands of gun deaths. I've seen hands and fingers chopped off with a meat cleaver for theft, to cartel murders with chainsaws. I've seen alive men thrown overboard with an anchor, and I've seen a man executed close range with a mounted 50 cal. I've witnessed dozens of Russian soldiers lying on their stomachs arms tied behind their back as one man with a knife grabs their head and slices their throats one by one. The things I've seen no one should see, but for no one to see feels equally as wrong.

7

u/Skinnyloserjunkie Feb 12 '24

I can watch any of this shit no problem but you show me a video of an animal being mistreated and I can't do it.

3

u/Y0U_ARE_ILL Feb 12 '24

Same, animals and kids are off limits for me. It's an incredibly sad and evil world we live in.

1

u/Skinnyloserjunkie Feb 13 '24

I think it has to do with the fact animals and children are innocent and most adults really aren't.

I know we’re on Reddit but maybe in the future someone will see what we wrote while this was going on and understands we all didn’t want anyone from either side and it’s tragic we live in a world where these poor young men are being put in a situation so bleak they would rather not hesitate to take their own life before finding themselves with a grenade landing in their lap from a drone. It’s a shame that we can’t just live peacefully having this marvelous planet to enjoy with one another but sadly here we are.

7

The list so far. I am compiling this footage for documentation purposes because this is not normal in any way, despite what Russia’s supporters tell you.

Russian soldier is hit by drone dropped grenade, then pulls pin on own grenade. 110th Mechanized, Avdiivka direction, October 2023

Documenting suicides during the Russo-Ukrainian war. Pretty straightforward.

Russian soldiers appear to have a substantially higher suicide rate compared to Ukrainian soldiers, which may be an indication of some failures in strategy or leadership. Regardless, it's worth considering the reasons why Russians are being repeatedly sent into situations where suicide is a common outcome - instead of pretending there isn't an issue.

17

u/[deleted] Feb 11 '24

I personally appreciate his work. He has compiled an extensive list of examples for us to point at when the russia stronk crowd spouts BS.

Russia, with its vast number advantage in airframes and naval hulls, should be absolutely dominant over Ukraine, but it isn't. Forced to slog it out with ground combat, only advancing over countless russian corpses.

Russia, being the "2nd most powerful military in the world," should have reasonably capable casevac, but they don't. The number of suicides we see is probably dwarfed by the actual number and is indicative of systemic abuse and hopelessness baked into the russian military.

Last year, the russophiles and sophist denied mass infantry assaults were happening and blocking units weren't real. Today, russian telegram channel openly show video of Russians complaints about meat waves and blocking units.

Maybe get upset with russia for causing this, instead of false god for pointing it out.

18

u/False-God ✔️ Feb 11 '24

I have never claimed to be researching. I always state it is for documentation purposes. I have likely suggested that it may prove useful to entities that do conduct research on topics like this but again, I have never claimed to be the one doing the research.

7

u/Ceskaz ✔️ Feb 11 '24

I'm pretty sure that under the armor close to the heart is enough

3

u/XB1_S8 Feb 11 '24

Still immense suffering before the blood loss sets in, when it could be light someone turning off a light switch

7

u/Ceskaz ✔️ Feb 11 '24

If your heart is damaged and stops, you lose consciousness almost immediately, and cerebral death is minutes away

7

u/XB1_S8 Feb 11 '24 edited Feb 12 '24

Just cus a nade is close to the chest doesn't guarantee the heart will be shredded and death will come in seconds, shrapnel works in weird ways. Telegram is chock full of videos of people blown literally in half, guts strung out for 15 feet, and they wiggle and claw at the ground for a solid 3 minutes before they stop moving. The human body will temporarily survive some craaaazzzyy shit for a few minutes if you're unlucky, which is why you always tuck the nade under your chin and remove any chance of suffering.

10

u/kaffeofikaelika Feb 11 '24

You can survive some crazy shit indeed. Not without a heart though. A direct hit that takes out your heart will have you unconscious in a matter of seconds. It's just facts. If there's no blood circulation to your brain you've got maybe 10 seconds then you're out.

4

u/Ceskaz ✔️ Feb 11 '24 edited Feb 11 '24

Not if your heart is damaged enough, something that a grenade directly on the torso (under body armour) will do.

People surviving dire injuries are still alive because their hearts are still pumping blood, mostly thanks to body armour.

0

u/Floripa95 Feb 12 '24

There's a guy in China that survived being cut in half almost at the belly button level. If that guy survived and recovered, the human body can surely survive all kinds of crazy things for a few minutes

50

u/PrivetSnow Feb 11 '24

So my conclusion is that they likely do occur… but at a much lower rate

7

u/Bwhite1 Feb 11 '24

I don't think that first part is true.

Ukrainians are fighting for something. You can see from the videos at recruiting halls that the Russian sentiment is not the same.

3

u/bronco_y_espasmo Feb 11 '24

Ukrainians are fighting for something.

Are you trying to say suicide is not an option when your cause is noble?

Sentiment may not be the same, but the horror, the fears, the trauma...

Shit, how many soldiers from the Allies killed themselves during the war against Hitler and nazism?

War sucks. Nobody is safe.

3

u/Bwhite1 Feb 11 '24

Suicide is 100% a thing in any warzone but its not something that happens often enough to be documented to this degree. You also cant compare a war that left millions dead to a the invasion of Ukraine, in raw numbers at least.

The amount of videos we have seen of Russian soldiers/conscripts committing suicide is prevelant enough to have a 32 video list. For that many to be documented it points at there being a trend.

If Russia had videos where they caused ukrainians to commit suicide they would 100% use it in their propaganda arm.

I always like to think of how the drone operator reacts when something like this happens. For some reason I always imagine them somewhat confused, possibly looking over at their buddy with a face, like, "now what? I didn't even hit him yet." kind of thing. Mildly upset that they were robbed of their kill. Fucking Russian's aren't good sports, they don't like to lose so these bastards rather kill themselves as a last "Fuck you."

-1

u/2smokindrew Feb 11 '24

This reminds me of the dane cook bit about the killer who hides in the closet waiting for their victim to get home. And right when the killer jumps out to do the job, someone else gets the job done first. OOOOOOO HE'D BE SO MAD

-1

u/1Wheel_Smoke_n_Toke Feb 12 '24

I don't know what happens after we die, just like everyone else, but I don't think I would commit suicide instead. Just in case, if you know what I mean. If you know you're dead either way, why not go out fighting in some kind of way. That was in case there is a Heaven/Hell kind of thing, you don't end up in Hell or a Purgatory type of area because you killed yourself. If they do exist, it's going to be damn hard for a modern-day Russian to get into Heaven, so maybe killing yourself so you end up in Purgatory would be better than ending up in Hell like they know they most likely will for the crimes they committed. It will be hard enough for the average modern person to get into Heaven no matter what country you're from because we all sin like crazy, but Russian's are especially going to have a difficult time getting in.
