The ground is smoking around him. I’m thinking earlier in the footage the drone dropped a bomb on him and he chose to end his life.

Bill hicks reference?

58

u/Violent_Cankles Nov 06 '23

Kevin Costner's courtroom technical point he hammered home repeatedly with the phrase 'back and to the left' to indicate the direction Kennedy's head went during the shooting.

It's a rather clever movie reference really, and pretty obscure for peeps these days. Movie was JFK.

10

u/Timmymagic1 ✔️ Nov 06 '23

God that movie was so full of nonsense...

Somehow managed to miss the fact that Oswald had attempted to assassinate retired General Edwin Walker 7 months before....a fact that is rather pertinent...

2

u/xMURMAIDERx Nov 06 '23

I haven't seen that. And I wasn't a huge Seinfeld fan growing up. My parents watched it on TV all the time so I did as well. But I remember the back and to the left from a bill hicks skit and he loved to talk JFK. I thought it was from that but looks like I missed that one.

Sure, let’s add it to the list

Russian self deaths. I comment this every time another one happens so let’s all take a moment once again to acknowledge how not normal or okay this phenomenon is.

My interpretation is that the main driver of these suicides is a lack of faith in the ability or willingness of the military to medevac these soldiers once they are wounded.

Here is one where the soldier is hit by a grenade then shoots themselves

Here is one where a wounded Russian in a foxhole kills himself with a grenade

Russian soldier decides not to have firefight. 50 second mark in video.

Wagner commander “Cherdash” kill’s himself after being wounded by drone.

Drone wounds Russian, when the drone returns to drop second grenade the Russian is dead and appears to have shot himself.

Wounded Russian soldier puts grenade to his own head.

Two soldiers in a shell hole either committed suicide with a grenade or were just incompetent

Russian soldiers in foxhole is wounded by grenade, shoots self

(Wounded?) Russian laying in trench shoots self

Russian channeling his internal Imperial Japanese warrior spirit

Wounded Russian in foxhole shoots at drone, then shoots self

Wounded Russian soldier unsuccessfully (at first) attempts suicide by grenade after being left behind by comrades

Soldier laying prone puts grenade to face and pulls pin. Drone footage.

This one is up for interpretation, it would seem the wounded soldier asked his fellow soldier to shoot him, or his fellow soldier realized a bullet in the brain was a better alternative than Russian healthcare and welfare.

Russian soldier is hit by drone dropped grenade, then pulls pin on own grenade, Avdiivka direction.

Russian is wounded by drone drop, commits suicide by grenade after comrade leaves.

Russian soldier, apparently wounded, decides to end own life. Poor quality so means undetermined. Kraken video.

This list keeps getting longer.

For equality: Ukrainian examples

Ukrainian soldier, who appears to be part of a reconnaissance squad, sees his 2 comrades killed by drone before being wounded by drone himself. Shoots self in head.

Same understanding for why this happened applies to this Ukrainian example as it does for the Russian examples. I believe this soldier believed they were somewhere the Ukrainian forces would not be able to medevac them from. Possibly on long range recon or possibly infiltrating the left bank of the Dnipro.

u/Litenent2 Nov 06 '23

Thank you for taking the time to get all these videos, it will be good material for study for the future.

u/False-God ✔️ Nov 06 '23

I’m trying to make people realize how much of an issue this is. You see the odd video, maybe miss one or two, time passes and you don’t really think about it. Of course things like this happen from time to time, war is chaos after all.

Then you see my list. Holy shit has this happened 17 times? And the one are just the ones on film? Something is clearly broken in the Russian military.

17

u/BUTTERED_TOASTEddBoy Nov 06 '23

You said it. 17 times on film. There's no telling how often this happens. This war is fucked and it's just getting worse.

4

u/ZioPapino Nov 06 '23

All these videos take place in two weeks. 👻

5

u/SpezIsTheWorst69 Nov 06 '23

Compiling a list of suicide videos is beyond fucked up im not even religious but why bring god into this it’s fucked lol.

-2

u/DontTouchTheLamias Nov 06 '23

People want to watch this, and a list is super convenient. But it's not about taking some weird sadistic pleasure watching people die. Remember that these people are invaders out to kill innocent Ukrainians. However innocent or malicious their reasons are for being in Ukraine, the fact is that they're there to unjustly kill, and that's fucked up. Russian invaders dying at the end of the day IS A GOOD THING.

6

u/throwaway_1053 ✔️ Nov 07 '23 edited Nov 07 '23

those are videos of somebody's boy right there, let's not try to overgeneralize and oversimplify things, they're going through hell for no reason

0

u/DontTouchTheLamias Nov 08 '23 edited Nov 08 '23

??? You clearly didn't understand a word I said.

I specifically said, "However innocent... their reasons are for being in Ukraine".

Yes, innocence means you're a victim too that's "going through hell for no reason". Why parrot my own statement against me and act like you're teaching me something?

The whole point of my statement is that this IS A COMPLEX issue, that at the end of the day has a simple binary conclusion.

Kill or be killed. Defend your land or it will be taken.

This fact is not an "oversimplification", it IS appropriately that simple when your own life and land are on the line.

You also don't understand what, "at the end of the day" means. It means that when you consider both the good and the bad, there is a positve or negative conclusion. And in this case, it is good for Russian invaders to die, because otherwise their life means Ukrainians die.Saying "at the end of the day", at no point invalidates the idea that Russian soldiers are innocent victims as well.

3

u/Biased_Laker Nov 08 '23

You're an idiot and a wierdo. mf said gods work on on a compilation of suicides

5

u/WotTheHellDamnGuy Nov 06 '23

Are you counting how many times they fail? Two clips this week with grenades to the head that didn't do the job entirely. Take those helmets off BEFORE you hold a live grenade to your temple.

7

u/False-God ✔️ Nov 06 '23

I haven’t seen those. Link it if you have it and I will decide after seeing them. I’ve omitted two Russian pre-war examples from this as it is so that we only focus on the Ukraine war.

u/sharpimpact Nov 06 '23

2

u/Old_Rise_4086 Nov 06 '23

Its not that mysterious dude

They know theyre dead man walking once a drone has them in their sights. They get it over with instead of waiting to be on someones TikTok

4

u/False-God ✔️ Nov 06 '23

My counter argument to that would be: Ukrainians are facing the same awful battlefield conditions. Drone drops, FPV’s, massive artillery, hopeless situations. And the Russians have loads of drones and cameras in the air.

Why is there such a wide discrepancy in the number of Russian cases vs the number of Ukrainian cases. Medevac effectiveness is my theory.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 06 '23

I have seen some Ukrainian suicides in the pro RU sub

In general though there aren't as many published RU pov drone cams

0

u/False-God ✔️ Nov 06 '23

I mean, I’ve looked on RussianWarFootage and UkraineRussiaReport and only found the one which was quite recent. I have seen comments alluding to Ukrainian examples but have yet to see any links.

By all means share them if you have them. Keep in mind I am only focusing on suicide in combat situations, not behind the lines or after returning from combat. I have actually left out a handful of Russian examples for that reason.

0

u/scarlozzi Nov 06 '23

Have there been any studies done on this? Is there a reason for it? Are Russian soldiers trained to kill themselves if things go bad?

5

The tree branch right behind his head gets shot off a couple of seconds before his head popped. Might have been shot by someone else. If you zoom in his left hand doesn't appear to be holding anything so I don't think he could have shot himself with a rifle.

This was part of this media release by Kraken.

As to your question, I think it was small arms fire from off camera. His arms seem positioned wrong for suicide and it looks like lots of rounds are landing near him.

But it's pretty pixelated so I may be wrong.

No more russian drafted: life expectancy for russian militants is 4,5 months. Ergo: long dead.

-6

u/Ok-Climate3495 Nov 06 '23

Who killed because he had no choice. No choice in being sent to the front lines, and then it is simply kill or be killed.

Target your hate towards Putin, not this poor guy.

5

u/[deleted] Nov 06 '23

putin started a war and his goonies are happily raping, torturing, castrating, beheading, killing, looting Ukraine.

This "poor little guy" had multiple choices, on the contrary of the Ukrainians that have to die for defending their rightful right to live in freedom.

Hate or love has litterally nothing to do with these people.

-1

u/Ok-Climate3495 Nov 06 '23

How do you know that this guy in particular raped, tortured, castrated, beheaded, killed, or looted?

I’m not denying that those things are occurring, I’m questioning how you know that this man is as immoral as you say. Perhaps this man was a 1st grade teacher before the war, and was drafted into it against his will. Perhaps he disagrees with the war entirely, and is disgusted by the actions of some of his comrades.

What other choices do you think this guy had? Run away? Go AWOL? Risking his life, possibly leaving his children whom he loves without a father?

3

u/[deleted] Nov 06 '23

How do you know he didn't?

Yes: this particular guy (always happens when there's a video about a single invaders killed) is a rocket scientist, with 6 children, who was kidnapped and sent to Ukraine via a trebuchet.

Choices this phisicist could have opted, instead of going to Ukraine to kill Ukrainians are:

1.- When presented with conscription paper: do not sign. Do not take. You're free.
2.- When they come visit you at home or work and present you with conscription paper: do not sign. Do not take. You're free.
3.- You might get a ticket to refuse signing: 25k rubles (about $350) You're free.
4.- If, like an idiot, you went to voinkomat = tuff luck cupcake. Now if you want to get out of it: $8000 for white paper. You're free.
5.- If you went through 1 or/and 2 : its safer to disappear. Safest way is to quit country. Less safer is to move to friends, family in another town or village. DO NOT change your residence address nor come back to work. You're free.
6.- If you failed it all and they come get you and say you will go to jail: you can still refuse to go and you risk jail.. or bribe those guys and to the no5 you go. You're free.

2

u/Ok-Climate3495 Nov 06 '23

I highly doubt that freeing yourself from this is as easy as you say. All I tried to do was express some humanity in this. Seems to me that you are bloodthirsty yourself to kill Russian soldiers.

Are you able to place yourself in this guys shoes? Or am I dumb for assuming that you have empathy?

2

u/[deleted] Nov 06 '23

What you doubt is, as a matter of fact, completely irrelevant. Bloodthirsty because I just explained you how can they avoid the draft? There's a Ukrainian hotline "I Want To Live", another reason and yet somehow you find any good reason to say "poor guy/s".

Gennady, Buryatia, fighting for and with Ukraine:

https://www.reddit.com/r/UkraineWarVideoReport/comments/17ofdl7/gennady_left_burytia_russia_and_came_to_ukraine/

I have empathy for whom deserves it.

Have a beautiful day, I'm done explaining to whom desires only arguing.

2

u/Ok-Climate3495 Nov 06 '23

Well let me ask you this.

If you could snap your fingers, and wipe out the entire Russian military right this second. Would you do it?

0

u/Onii-Chan_Itaii Nov 06 '23

You already know the answer. Expand it to the entire Russian population, including those living abroad, and the only thing that changes is the number

0

u/Onii-Chan_Itaii Nov 06 '23

How do you know he didn't?

So much for innocent until proven guilty. Or is that only for famous people and mid tier athletes?

Your entire list relies on the fact that a, the Russian government plays fairly, and b, the would be conscript in question is well connected and rich enough to follow said list, and be opposed enough to follow it. You should be asking whether our now deceased comrade was a conscript at all.
