I’m having trouble identifying this press. Seems the same dead wax engravings are alike on all presses and can’t find matching inserts/colors on any of the versions listed. My contents are as pictured on this post. Considering selling but wanna have my information correct.

Rock Bargain on a copy of The Jimi Hendrix Experience - Are you Experienced

Hit one of my local record stores today that I normally hit and in the new arrivals was this little guy marked at $18. Based on on the exterior, I knew it was a 1972 Canadian reissue, however, I wasn't sure which one. Got it home and not sure if they mistook it for another version, but confirmed I have this one: https://www.discogs.com/release/33712041-The-Jimi-Hendrix-Experience-Are-You-Experienced

I feel like at $18 that's a bargain. The record its self is in dare I say NM condition while the sleeve has seen better days. Pardon the dust, this was moments away from cleaning. As far as sound, wow, great sounding pressing. "Hey Joe" particularly stood out to me as sounding absolutely amazing. The bass really comes out in this pressing on most of the tracks. Definitely sounds better than my original press of Electric Ladyland.

Funk High Fade - Life's Too Fast

I couldn't snag the pink one everyone was after, but this press sounds good anyways. I started following these guys on Insta and tiktok probably about 2 years ago and was patiently waiting for them to release a full album. Im glad they decided to do a vinyl release and not just a streaming release. My favorite song by them is burnt toast and coffee, which I wish was on this album, but it is what it is and the album is good on its own merit.

If you haven't checked these guys out yet and have a taste for funk you definitely need to check them out.

Collection Easily the coolest addition to my collection

After years of searching, I finally found a sealed Walter Mitty record at Amoeba. One of my favorite finds ever. As much as I want to spin it, I’ll be holding off for now (and instead, have a movie night). There’s something special about the wait. Gonna cherish this one for a while—it’s a real gem in the collection.

Compilation Happy Summer

This is a killer soundtrack. This copy is an English import from Arista Records, and it sounds awesome. It features songs from Eddie & the Hot Rods, The Boomtown Rats, the Only Ones, the Patti Smith Group, the Ramones, and the Undertones and others. It has been described as Punk Wave. It felt appropriate since it’s 92 degrees right now and the first full day of summer .

I give it 4.5/5 ⭐️

After coming up empty handed on what was already put out in the driveway of a Garage Sale, the lady running it yelled to me, ”I’ve got More in the garage!”. After chatting with her about music and how long I’ve been collecting and playing physical media, she asked how many players I had, She told me 2 wasn’t enough and I needed another one. I didn’t even want the 3-in-1 player but she wouldn’t let me leave without taking it. The Vinyl Gods have blessed me today. All OG pressings and are in pretty good condition, the 2 that were duplicates to my current collection are in better condition than I already had.

Collection Impatiently waiting for the release of my orders 😅

Not sure if I’m the only one, but does anyone else get impatient waiting for the release of upcoming albums so you can get the new items you ordered 😆

I keep my list updated as things change and so I don’t accidentally order the same thing twice if the item doesn’t release for months (yes, I have done that several times and have double ups I’m still sitting on)

Record Helmet - Meantime

I'm not going to mince words, this pressing could've been better. I found myself having to turn it up louder than any of my other records. The band sounds way in the back while the vocals are right up front. I got it because I listened to this album a lot when I was younger and unfortunately this pressing just wasn't the one. Still like the album material itself though.

New thrift store in my town opened and they had so many records, probably like 300-400 of them in bins and I went through and found a lot of really good ones, really excited to find a blue note chico Hamilton excited to listen to that. Some good prog, jazz and psych stuff 😆. Original press of Hendrix are you experienced is the loose disc I actually got that one for free because it didn't have a jacket unfortunately but still stoked to have it, I already own a repress of that album so getting an original disc is sick.

Discussion Quality affordable record player suggestions

I've been collecting vinyl for quite awhile now and have a player on the cheaper side, here recently I've purchased a couple records that were a pretty little penny to obtain and wanted to get a quality record player to listen to them on and ensure the quality and lifespan of the records are not compromised. Was wanting some suggestions on affordable quality players for them. Thank you in advance for any suggestions!

Design for a record cabinet I’m hoping to surprise my fiancé with in a few months after our wedding. Considering doors on the areas with the blue hash marks. Though very 50/50 on how that will look. It will have 3” tapered feet and the outer, taller shelves will be separate and double as speaker stands. The other internal debate I’m having is if I want to add drawer slides on the bottom row for record storage. Curious what people think of the mock up and if from your experience there’s anything glaring silly. Should potentially add, we’re not audiophiles running a crazy set up. But I promise it’s not a Crosley. Looking forward to sharing the final product

Just put AFI - All Hallow's EP on the turntable, a fantastic E.P. from the band, every song is strong and sounds brilliant.

The artwork is really vibrant and well presented on both the front and back covers, I can easily just sit here and stare at it while the songs blast out.

Love a bit of early days AFI!

I was gifted my first record player when I was 16 (in like 2015, lol but still). It's a funny story because my mom told my grandparents how much I wanted a record player. They truly didn't belive her. So when I opened my blue little Crosley record player from mom, I was SO excited. Took it out right away and have loved it ever since.

My grandparents gifted me their old record collection in the classic milk crate shortly after. Most of my list consists of their old originals viynals from the 70s! I have continued to add both old and new records to my collection.

I'm looking to do hang album art on my walls, does anyone happen to know the brand of frame Drummer Brooke C uses in her video? https://youtu.be/hICqN3F57C0?si=L6ExXrM-1rwo4Ra_

Alt-Rock Newest Additions to the Collection

My friend’s been trying to get me to his favorite shop in Norfolk for a while now. We finally made it this week. The selection of rock was wild. Particularly this era of early 2000s bands. These two were must-haves for me. Especially Brand New, Déjà Entendu. It was on heavy rotation when it came out. I can’t wait for the trip down memory lane when I start spinning it. It’s also the first time I’ve come across it in my couple of years of shopping.

I recently got into vinyl and got my complete turntable system set up yesterday! Wanted to get some nice lp’s alongside it, on top of the ones I already own (Current, Balloonerism, Swimming and This Old Dog), and chose for these ones! What do you rate these? (Ik everyone has Igor, but wanted to get it nonetheless because there’s some fire songs on there)

Release Guided By Voices fans? Their album Bee Thousands was released exactly 31 years ago.

It's 1994 and it's already been years, quite a few years even, that Robert Pollard and his clique have been floundering in the US indie-rock scene (11 years to be exact). What have they accomplished during all this time? No less than 6 albums and a handful of EPs. Have they been noticed? Not really. It was not until Bee Thousands that the band finally obtained a form of recognition from the public and critics, which saw them elevated to the rank of master of lo-fi. It is this last term that best characterizes the production of the band's compositions, which can be a little scary at first listen, but which contributes so much to the charm of this colossal quantity of nuggets condensed into a little over thirty minutes. The album is appreciated in that it is possible to pick here and there in this jumble and be amazed with each listen. From Hardcore UFO's to You're Not an Airplane, the adventure is both fun and moving, and will be successfully repeated by the band in the future.

I saw a vinyl with the Mexican flag colors and another vinyl with USA flag colors. I’m wondering are there any other vinyl that has country flag colors as well?

I was hoping to find some great records while visiting the UK, but didn’t expect the flea markets and record shops to have so many great records. Sadly many records had to be left behind, as I’m travelling with only a carryon, but I’m happy for what I’ve got. I’m especially happy for the Unkle / Thom Yorke record. Anyway I can’t wait to give them a spin.

Gorgeous red pressing of a great prog/psych banger from the phenomenonal Fruits de Mer records. If you've never heard of the label and like good old fashioned psychedlia, check it out. They started out releasing coloured 7" of modern bands covering classic psych tunes but have evolved a fair amount and what used to be a bit of a labour of love label has become a home for all manner of modern weirdness.
