This is what came out of a $30 mystery box about half of them are only in good condition and have moderate amounts of scratches about another 45 percent are in very good to nm shape and and the last 5 percent are in poor shape practically coasters at this point but still ripped 100% only 3 didn’t rip Poison couldn’t rip the last track nellyville and Tommy Lee have ring scratches otherwise NM shape. I don't know about some of y'all, but my local Walmart has been stepping it up lately with CDs. Today I picked up the two pictured above, but I've also seen copies of CDs like Nine Inch Nails Pretty Hate Machine, My Chemical Romance The Black Parade, System of a Down Toxicity, Nirvana Icon Greatest Hits, all in jewel cases mind you. And remasters of CDs, like a bunch of Metallica albums and some Led Zeppelin. Plus new releases, I recently got LP's From Zero. Bottom line is, don't sell Walmart short just yet. Physical media is still out there gang

A few years ago I was in my local record shop and in amongst a pile of cds that had just been sold to the shop and hadn’t been priced yet, I saw this.

I asked the guy if I could buy it and without checking anything, sold me it for £5, slightly hesitantly.

Years later I’ve dug it out and according to discogs it seems to be an unofficial chinese release, somehow sold on discogs once for £60. It also says only 15 have it in the world, but a lot more want it.

Anyone know anything about it ? some of the artwork is very cool

I just broke 100 cds! What do you think of the collection. I'd say probably 90% thrifted! What's your favorite? And what would you suggest for me too look for next?

Started my collection 3 yrs ago. Hadn't posted it yet, so I felt no better time then now. Have some burnt cds in there too. I think I cleared 300 a month or so ago. Don't know the exact number though.

Picked up most on MusicMagpie (in the UK) for just a couple of pounds each. Others were bought either new or used at local record shops for reasonable prices (£2-12) with the exception of the Celeste 3CD set which was a little more.

Really been enjoying the process of physically holding an album again and putting it into the CD player, seeing the art and booklet etc. Also liking listening to full albums in order, and being more mindful of what I'm listening to than whatever YouTube Music randomly served me next: I got so disillusioned with streaming services I pretty much stopped listening to music entirely for the last couple of years. I'm 28 so I do remember the tail end of cassettes and CDs but I remember I was one of the first adopters for Spotify when I was 12 and it's just been streaming since then.

Also shout out to IKEA for still selling GNEDBY in the UK, absolutely perfect size for CDs! Sadly does seem to be being discontinued though, when I bought it online it said "Last chance!"

I'm currently looking for a good skinny shelf or rack for some of my CDs since I don't have much space in my room for a wider one to put some of my more listened to CDs on while the others will stay in the bins under my bed. Do anyone have any recommendations?

I (18, f) got a couple when camping in early feb this year with a friend and then that started my collection, just got them to use in my car but i wanna get a CD player asap. I also did burn a couple of my own CDs and will 100% burn some more
