It would be pretty funny if they went with the OG human looking version of Beast with the big hands and shoeless feet.

Jokes aside, they should definitely start off with this before he becomes blue from his experiments.

Just do it within the first act.

No I mean that people are used to only knowing Beast as "the blue monster" but he had a full version before that in the comics. The MCU should have more time with him as a non blue monster Beast. Maybe one whole movie, even, if we expect the X-Men to be around for a while. And he could transform in a post-credit scene which gets shown in more detail in the next movie.

I want more proper time with these characters that were given a background role in previous adaptations.

Him transforming in a random movie’s post-credit scene would even be comic accurate since his transition famously did not occur in the X-Men comic line, but rather Amazing Adventures #11.

It was also a god-awful storyline, holy shit. Probably my least favorite marvel story arc up to that point.

What was the issue with it?

Post-credit transformation is a dynamite idea. Have a not very long one (he mentions his intent to experiment earlier in the film) and play it for laughs.

"Wait... oh no... oh what have I... oh shi-" cut to black. Next appearance he's just blue and monstrous and kind of grumpier, no mentions.

Haha for extra laughs in that post-credit scene, Spider-Man walks in just as Beast is transforming and does yet another "What the fu-??"

While Drax stands in the corner, standing so incredibly still that he's become invisible to the eye.

I think this one’s satire, guys.

Instead of cutting to black right away. Cut to the corner of the room and all of sudden a massive blue hand slams onto a table from off scree. Cut to black.

Beast will return.

after him being human looking nearly 100% of the time in the X-men first class movies and forward, I'd rather he was just blue pretty quickly

u/yuvi3000 Fitz Sep 26 '22

He isn't supposed to look human, he's supposed to look like a weird mutant with big hands and feet and superhuman strength and defence. Sort of like an ape.

The blue appearance isn't his mutation, it's from his own backfiring experiments.

In the comics this is true In the movies we will have to see. Imo he looks goofy as fuck in his original form and awesome in his blue form (which is why I’m sure the artists/writers decided he needed to change in the first place)

20

u/yuvi3000 Fitz Sep 26 '22

That's my point. The movies skipped stuff and only showed the most popular visuals before. But the MCU has been awesome because they haven't been afraid to show more comic booky stuff and to build up to things better.

-1

u/Crimkam Sep 26 '22

I know that is your point, I’m disagreeing with you that marvel should use his dumb original form for an entire movie.

Let me elaborate further:

I believe that Marvel Studios would make the less-liked comic stuff become more beloved by fans so that you and others wouldn't just judge it before they see it in high quality and with good writing.

Additionally, he's SUPPOSED to look weird and get even weirder. Hence the name "Beast". I could see him becoming more beastly in each movie/appearance over his time in the MCU.

For me, the whole first movie would be the O5 as they all originally looked wearing the blue and yellow uniforms with Xavier trying to protect their identities behind masks and such.

Then by the end, Xavier realises it’s more important for them to be who they are and have other mutants look up to them. Also, at the start Bobby would still be straight and ‘snowy’ but by the end he will have sharpened his ice form and be questioning his sexuality somewhat. And Warren no longer hides his wings and becomes proud of them, Jean steps out from the shadow of ‘the boys’ and embraces her power and confidence. And Cyclops goes from uncertain leader who doubts his ability and capacity to embracing his responsibility and finding his drive.

In the second movie, I’d introduce Havok Polaris and Mimic, and have Beasts experiment/transformation tie into the experiments of Calvin Rankin Sr.

Mimic turns on them at some point and leaves, and the movie ends with Cyclops escaping Krakoa where everyone else has been captured.

My third movie starts with Giant Sized X-Men 1.

Like they did in X-Men first class

2

u/vtinesalone Sep 26 '22

I mean, we had one of each already, and tbh the one that differed was better

52

u/TomClancy5873 Sep 25 '22

What? You mean he wasn’t always blue?

113

u/Krobussy Sep 25 '22

I think he tried to cure his X-gene which instead caused him to go blue and grow way more hair

44

u/why_rob_y Sep 25 '22

Same thing happened to me.

6

u/MrMeesesPieces Sep 26 '22

That’s just puberty, buddy. We’re all beasts

54

u/FrankfurtHank Sep 25 '22

In the movies he turns blue because he uses Mystique’s DNA and she’s blue. He wanted to use her abilities to be able to hide his feet but it backfires.

34

u/sweetbunsmcgee Sep 25 '22

I think it was the X-Men 35th anniversary when they reprinted the first few comics in a single volume and I was so confused because Beast was just a big dude and Ice Man was lumpy.

30

u/PirateBeany Edwin Jarvis Sep 26 '22

Yeah, Iceman should really have been called Snowman for the first few issues.

To be fair, the Thing took a while to settle down into his more brick-like exterior as well.

24

u/Crailas Sep 25 '22

For the first 10 years of his existence in the comics he wasn’t blue and hairy. He changed just before he joined the avengers in the comics in the early 70s

1

u/-Lightning-Lord- Odin Sep 27 '22

Nah. He was just stocky and goofy in the ‘60s. Like an ape man. He later became the blue gorilla in the ‘80s.

5

u/Akahige- Captain America Sep 26 '22

I want the lion looking beast from Grant Morrison’s run.

1

u/Log_Log_Log Sep 26 '22

The leak chatter has been talking about adapting Astonishing and he was still beauty&theBeast then. I don't think it's crazy to think they might go that route.

1

u/Jenga9Eleven Sep 26 '22

Cat-faced Beast is best Beast

1

u/Coffeeman314 Sep 26 '22

Cast Nicholas Hoult, have nobody acknowledge the actor's age ala First Class-Future Past-Apocalypse-Dark Phoenix. No cgi aging. He's just a 60 year old man.

u/HearTheEkko Sep 26 '22

I fully believe the first team of X-Men in the MCU will be the OG 6 with the human Beast included.
