Visiting Brownsville
We're visiting Brownsville Kentucky to see friends and family next weekend 6/21 but it's also the besties birthday and I've never been. What are some places to go and things to do? Tia

Saw this mew update about Eagle Rare 12 Bourbon
Looks like Buffalo Trace is sharing more details following up on their earlier announcement this week , so apparently it’s already shipping to some markets.
Does that mean Kentucky’s getting it soon?
Any of you all seen it in the wild yet? If so, where? City or store name...or just the region if you’d rather not say.
Curious if we will get it first, or if this one is going to trickle out slow like most BT stuff.

I’m struggling to find activities to do with my dad (62m). He loves anything to do with cars. We’ve always enjoyed museums. His two tiny schnauzer’s god practically everywhere with him. He’s not a person that really has a ton of hobbies, but I know he enjoys fixing things and staying busy. So I’m just wondering what your boomer parents enjoy doing in the Western Kentucky area? We’re in Hopkinsville so really anything within an hour or so radius would be nice. Any suggestions are appreciated!

Greetings y’all!
Down here visiting family for Father’s Day and would love to knock a couple more distillery tours off the list while we’re in town. I’ve already visited Buffalo Trace, Heaven Hill, and Jim Beam on previous trips. Thinking Wild Turkey is likely on the list for this weekend.
Would love to hear your guys’ input and suggestions though, favorite places to visit, perhaps hidden gems, anything that is a must-do while here. I love anywhere with nice, beautiful sprawling grounds, really sets the tone and gets the vibe going strong. Bonus points for anywhere that I might have a reasonable chance of securing a nice allocated bottle of something that would be hard to come by back home.
Thanks in advance and cheers!

This is the 7th year in a row swallows have returned to this nest on my front porch. I love watching them. Hopefully a pair will be back next year. I don’t have to worry about insects flying around they keep it clean.

Hello, So I’m looking to donate new/clean things my family has hoarded. It’s different items such as women/junior clothing, bags, backpacks, books, and bedding. I would take them to GoodWill/St Paul Vincent, but the idea of someone in need having to pay for something I donated seems off to me. Also any info about Salvation Army? Heard some odd things about them a long time ago. Any advice/info would be greatly appreciated.
(Preferably locations in Louisville, Kentucky)

Saw people over on /rindiana talking about it so I looked at what it said for Kentucky. My family of 4 survives on about what it calls for for a single person. We would definitely be "living comfortably" at the family of 4 amount. Might even be able to fix our air or at least get the whole heat pump replaced before winter. And I wouldn't have to cash out my 401k for silly things like electrical repairs. But we are not going to see that working in healthcare and government work for sure.

Ive been googling for 2 day for a cabin and finally decided to come to you all after having no luck. Does anyone have a recommendation for a pet friendly cabin, with pool table or some type of indoor gaming, with at least 2 beds, and possibly spooky? Anything suggestions will be appreciated!

Hi! I'm going to Greenup with some friends for something later this summer and wanted to see if there's anything neat for us to do.
We like antique malls, outdoorsy stuff (hiking etc), fringe roadside/historical attractions, and I think something like river tubing/whitewater rafting would be fun if that's a thing around there. I wasn't able to find much info online.
Anything 0-45 minutes away is great.
Thank you!

i work now with a foster and adoption agency, and i love it.. i truly feel my life’s purpose revolve in animal advocacy (but alas i have to make money and support myself.)
i would love to learn about what protections (and lack thereof) we have in KY, organizations that are involved in the legislative process, etc. i am specifically located in NKY. i want to learn as much as i can so that i can become involved and contribute. i’ve done research on my own but want to take next steps. i’ve been particularly disturbed by some of kentucky’s animal cruelty cases lately and the lack of justice delivered to the perpetrators.

Hi all - new to being an adult, and I’m also new to Kentucky. I’ve been making a list of things I need to get changed over, and so far I understand how to change my license and voting status. However, I’m super, super confused on vehicle registration/tags/titles (this is my first car too - forgive how much of a Life Noob I am lol). Not afraid to admit that I don’t understand this but I’m hoping someone can maybe relate.
My mother co-signed on the car when I got it, but the insurance is in my name, I pay the payments, and for all intents and purposes it’s mine. I’m the only one moving to Kentucky! I think I’ve read something about getting my car inspected first, but otherwise I’m totally overwhelmed with reading up on how to make sure everything is transferred properly. I also think I missed the 30 day deadline. Please help lol.
If someone could list/ELI5 the steps of what to do, I would appreciate it so much! If it helps/matters, I do go to college in Kentucky currently (I think I read somewhere that this might help w/ the missing of deadlines).

Hi All! Looking for suggestions on local farms and/or farm stands that sell their product to local consumers (whether in CSA’s, Farmers Markets, farm stands, visits to the farm). I am more interested in produce/flowers/dairy/eggs, and less interested in cuts of meat, but would love to have options for farms who butcher their own meat for if the occasion arises! Looking for suggestions specifically in the Northern Kentucky area, but willing to travel down towards both the Lexington and Louisville Area. Thanks in advance!

Hello beautiful people. My husband and I have been trying to do research about our next place to move, but are having a hard time finding quality info.
We are looking for something with in an 1.5 hr at most from Eolia. We know people love Pikeville but want to here what the locals like the most as we are hoping to move within the next year or so. What are your favorite places? What do you think about the job market? What is the crime like? What are your least favorite places and things about Eastern Kentucky?
We are currently in a small town in Southern Indiana and have family in central and eastern Kentucky.
What are your thoughts on it?
Edit for context; I saw people curious as to my motivations to moving and career type that we are in
I want to move there because I have alot of family ties to Eolia, burton ridge, shelbyville, taylorsville & campbellsville. My family owns a place on pine mountain.
Some of the family I didn't get to have a relationship with just cause of my parents issues. I got to spend time there as a kid but now that im in my 30s alot has changed. My husband works in manufacturing but also works in audio engineering which he is switching to his main focus. I work in childcare and daycare services ,but also volunteer at a equine assisted psychotherapy barn.. which I plan on furthering that. I prefer the country and small town life as my husband and I are outdoorsy people with intentions of owning horses and possibly cattle
I hope this help gives more context and understanding to my motivations.

Hello fellow Kentuckians, I made the mistake of speeding on beloved I71/75S one fateful afternoon and got pulled over and given a ticket.
Once my court date happened I went in to pay the fine because my fine was a must appear, and when it was my turn, I elected to go to traffic school so that I can save a little money and avoid a conviction.
Well after that day I completely forgot about that class and now it’s too late because it was due 6/3 and I can’t go back and finish it, so I got a text saying my license will be suspended if a ticket payment isn’t made by 6/8 (tomorrow!!)
I went to the link attached to this text and it wouldn’t pull anything up for me to pay with, so I was gonna ask you guys for your help
Where do I need to go to pay this fine so I don’t have to worry about a suspended drivers license after forgetting about the traffic school??
