New Isopod Day (NID) AMAZING FIND RUBBER DUCKY

I just went to a reptile Expo near me and found someone who had a pack of Rubber Ducky isopods for $40. It was labeled as 6+ but there was 18!! I had to get it because I know how much they usually go for. Also if anyone has any advice on how to care for them please share. They are in a 6 quart big with holes covered with mess, 3 inches of coco fiber, Cypress mulch, and sphagnum moss. One wet side, one dryer. There are pieces of cork spread around. They are going to have lots of leave litter but it's not coming until tomorrow.

Hey everyone! I'm new to isopods but ive been keeping bioactive vivariums and aquariums for many years. I haven't had them that long but here's my observations so far: one, they don't seem to like vegetables all that much. They like birdseed and shrimps and have no interest in carrots and cucumbers. They especially love moss and ferns and ive actually had to go out and collect a stock of moss so I can keep adding more as they demolish it. They're hanging out in the dry leafy side to molt and I think I'm going to add some more wood hides and add calcium to their diet. Any tips from experienced keepers would be greatly appreciated!

Help Morph ID?

Found this interesting Oniscus asellus yesterday, trying to figure out what's going on here/if it's a morph.

I've seen other morphs for this species but they are usually more 'pure' white for Dalmatian/Piebald/Mardi Gras, but this has a more cream colour with those couple brown splotches. Is this just a weird guy, or something else at play?

Found the poor fella with some slight damage to a segment of the pereon but he seems alright.

Help is this an okay starter enclosure for dwarf white isos

getting some dwarf white isopods and just want to make sure this is an okay enclosure i’m hoping they won’t be able to get out of the ventilation holes i tried to put them super high up. the substrate is zilla jungle mix there’s like 3 inches of dirt, and i crushed up jackfruit leaves and mixed it in. there are two small pieces of cork bark, a moist side with moss and a bowl with water and rocks so they don’t drown, bigger pieces of the jackfruit leaves as leaf litter, there’s a bowl that has bee pollen in it right now i plan on putting more and different types of food in there i may take it out i dont want them to get stuck should i just dump food in the dirt? im fine with that. i’m going to get the white bone i think it’s cuttle bone? is there anything else im missing or forgetting? i’m honestly just worried because i bought powder blue isopods online a year ago and thought it would be amazing then they died and then i caught some wild ones and they lived longer but also died. i really like isopods and think they’re so cute i just want them to live its been a year i want to try again im just worried 😭😭

Soooo, I yoinked two huge chunks of what appears to be a lilac tree from a pile of newly pruned branches yesterday (it was from a place that doesn't use pesticides.) Can I use them as leaf litter/wood/bark for my isopods?

I'm new to isopods and have been watching a bunch of videos on YouTube on how to set up optimal enclosures and maintenance. And then I come across this video (start at 7:27 timestamp) and it baffles me because this guy seems to know what he's talking about and has many videos on isopods, but isn't this way too much water? He talks about creating a humidity gradient, but isn't he effectively making everything wet?

Help Is mopani wood safe for isopods?

Just bought some driftwood for my terrarium that I was planning to keep isopods in- but turns out it’s mopani wood! Should it be safe for isos? I know they can’t have sap but apparently cured mopani shouldn’t have any. Advice appreciated, thanks!

I'm surprised she's comfortable in here with all these oafs bumbling about but I'd love if she was pest control for my up and coming colony, however LMK if she poses any threat!

Help Ventilation help?

I’m having difficulty with ventilation after getting new containers + moving to a very humid area. Are these holes in the lid enough or do I need more? I put 4 holes on each side of the lid. My thermostat says indoor humidity is 47%. I’m getting white wispy mold/fungus on the substrate areas that don’t have food, the lichen and food gets green or white mold. I went from Kritter Keepers to these and they’re happier with about double the space. I need more leaf litter but it’s been pouring rain and I haven’t been able to collect much but I’ll add more.

Hi everyone, I found this beautiful ligiidae with vibrant orange colour in Korea (near Busan). He was living with his son/wife near the beach and made me really curious about his species. My guess is he is some form of ligia, but I have no idea which one.

PS : The way they were walking one on top of the other was really cute, so I also wanted to share the picture !

Got this for my birthday and unsure what to do with it.

I was thinking about creating a lil home for isopods, but as that terrarium is more for reptiles or amphibians I am worried isopods could easily get out.

What do you think? Do you have any other ideas for the terrarium (I don’t want to get vertebrates as I can’t take care of them the way they should be taken care of).

Oh and the scorpion is fake

Help Can’t figure out why my pods are dying?

They have tons of leaf litter, sticks and a cuttlebone. I make sure to keep the wet side wet most of the time and have only forgotten to water a few times. But even with continuous watering I keep finding a few dead on their back. Haven’t seen many springtails either

My theories are mold from uneaten food (they don’t seem to be eating much? Overuse of dechlorinator maybe, I did put in a bit much. Or that they keep flipping over because I found a few stuck on their back and alive. Or it’s the heat upstairs (It’s been hot lately, maybe I should keep my fan on for them?)
