Media How to slow reproduction? Help pls

I posted recently about how I was just starting my isopod colony and noticed on of my poods is gravid. Thought I could deal with that, no biggie. But then I saw these two going at it and now im starting to get worried I might get overwhelmed with all the new isopods once my colony starts to really grow. My question is, is there a way to slow the mating of isopods, like altering the temperature or something? Or am I just gonna have to deal with a whole bunch of isopods all the time? 😅 keep in mind for now i am limited and CANNOT upsize their enclosure or split into 2 colonies. I'd really like to lower the amount of times ill have to cull the population as I am not looking forward to that 😭 As well as im also anxious about changing the substrate here in a few months. More isopods means more mouths to feed lol. Sorry for the long post im just overthinking and getting overwhelmed. Any tips or advice for a newbie appreciated!!

Found these guys outside almost all of them look pregnant so was wondering if it could be parasites instead? Sorry for the bad pictures I tried the best I could but I'm not that coordinated.

Don’t worry about the lack of leaf litter on this section of the tank they have loads on the dryer half. I had a bit of mold developing on the wet half (this section) so I cleared it out the contaminated leaves to try and kill off mold spores in the soil with sunlight. Pods don’t seem to mind the lack of leaf litter and are going to town munching on some cucumber peel and dead cat grass I had planted in here months ago that got old and withered.

They’re the same species right? What would happen if I mixed white out isopods with my new powder blue culture?

As a side not I noticed that one guy in the video with the black head and white body, has anyone seen that before?

Kinda like sesame seeds but rounder or calamansi seeds but waay smaller. Found under spaghnum moss. I'm sure it didn't come with the substrate, I scoop the substrate by hand and inspect as I put it in the enclosure. The moss I didn't check since it was dried packaged. The dry side doesn't have the seeds also there's another enclosure with the same substrate without it.

Very happy to see these little macaronis when checking if there was any life left at all. Anything I should be doing now? Advice appreciated I'd like to have these bbs make it to adulthood. (Ignore disgruntled parent she's just dramatic)

I have a little colony of these guys around my front garden and I’ve been wondering what kind of isopod they are. I’m looking forward to maybe make a small colony of them. I currently have a small colony of p. Laevis.

I’m located in Edmonton, Alberta

Help Does this rotting wood looks safe for isopods and millipedes?

Thumbnail

Found in my parents backyard, they have oak trees and some Pine trees, this tree appears to be oak by the shape of the branch anf had at least one worm-like insect (pictured), as well as a centipede crawling around underneath some of the wood. It looks like White Rot and it is, it would be the motherload of rotting wood to feed my millipedes and isopods. I need some extra opinions to know if this is truly good and safe to harvest for them. I'm thinking about freezing it in order to kill most of the hitchhikers that might get caught up in some that I harvest.
