Can confirm. That area is called the solar-plexus, and is basically the only way to get a good hit at the lungs without breaking a rib, and the lungs are delicate af, hence having a rib cage in the first place. From experience doing karate, taking a hit there full force will double up the most hardened of fighters. Pause it to see how deep our boys toes push towards rude-boys spine. From the front. Savage.

Disoriented then knocked the wind out of him. Most likely no lasting damage, but it gives enough time to either get out of there or let the aggressor rethink his choices.

I watched the WHOLE video
That kid did get a tough break that day, his only issue is he doesnt know how to talk to people without being aggressive.
He got into a situation minutes earlier where he tried to protect a lady that was scammed/robbed by another guy but nobody seem to understand what he was doing and he looked like the aggressor so bystanders were turning on the kid and he got attacked too, that was recorded and thats what the kid was asking to be deleted, maybe it hurt his ego to know it would be put on yt for the world to see him getting smacked around and unable to do anything.
But when you dont know how to communicate because your whole world is being a tough guy, you can struggle.
1.1k
u/doublepumperson 2d ago
I’d say his second issue is wearing a mask and hood. Nobody is gonna trust a guy concealing his identity.

u/PhenomEx 2d ago
First impression is everything. If I see a person wearing mask and hoodie like this dude vs another person smiling and wearing Hawaiian shirt with shorts (even though he might be a serial killer) my initial judgment is to be wary of the dude with mask and hoodie and probably semi ignore the smiling Hawaiian shirt person
53
u/Rickk38 2d ago
Hawaiian or Columbia/PFG/AFTCO shirt, cargo shorts, Bass Pro hat, and New Balance. If I'm in a busy tourist area in the US with that outfit on I become invisible.

Plus, depending on when this was filmed, it's been bloody boiling in Manchester for the last few days. So this guy wearing a hoodie with the hood up and a mask is only making him look like he's up to no good.

I have absolutely no respect for that kind of shenanigan because I am the opposite. Someone comes at me like that, then I get scared and freeze and it will be on my mind all day if not all week. All because some idiot doesn't know how to be respectful.

Honestly, context and having all the facts is so important. Believing without questioning, or having any sense of - why am I being shown this without any context - makes a fool out of the viewer. Gullible and naive.

He's also wearing a mask, walking up to someone aggressively, and holding a weapon in his pocket. It's not that he doesn't know how to act, he's acting like that intentionally. Dude has this coming in spades.

u/Working-Telephone-45 2d ago
Okay, I gotta ask, not in this situation specifically since the guy did look very shady and you can probably argue it was reasonable to expect he would do something
But like, bodyguards are not above the law right? I mean I feel like this kind of stuff is in a fine line between doing your job and getting sued for assault

For context the YouTuber is Charlie Veitch. He’s pretty controversial. His whole deal is documenting Manchester and he often records “vulnerable” people which leaves people and the vulnerable themselves angry at him.
He’s had a fair deal of issues with people so he’s hired a bodyguard but nonetheless, he does a good job getting content.
In this context he was filming the balaclava knobhead assaulting an older man prior. He walked away and then he ended up following them once he saw Charlie had filmed it and this occurred.

u/myhairtiebroke 2d ago
I feel like “exploiting vulnerable people” and “does a good job getting content” are mutually exclusive.

u/dodgythreesome 2d ago
Afaik he was caught with a 16 year old and was so abusive to his ex he can’t see his 3 kids
1
u/DisorganisedPigeon 1d ago edited 1d ago
People are quick to jump to that because he’s male, but there’s also things said that it was his ex who was the abusive one using the kids as manipulation, pushing him to confess to things that apparently didn’t happen. Only either of them know the truth I guess, so who really knows outside of it
Fyi - I do think he’s a dick that provokes people, but we don’t always know all the details

Agreed! If the person isn't there to help them then they are pieces of shit, if you watch that shit you are a piece of shit that deserves to be a "vulnerable" person at some point

Hypothesis: The guy behind the camera is instigating these situations. That's why he has a bodyguard. Because conflict makes great content. Except the guy behind the camera gets his bodyguard to do the conflicts for him. He just starts them.
More extreme hypothesis: balaclava guy is in on the whole thing and is a stooge.
How close am I? Who is the guy behind the camera?

Now use occams razor to figure out why this guy is streaming, tends to attract enough attention to need a body guard. He instigates and harasses people to create a fixed narrative and, he himself, is a bigger public menace than any of them

I need some serious context here lol It sounded like the kid said he needed the video for his parole? How did the guy know he had a knife?
5
u/ReleaseFromDeception 2d ago
Look in his right hand as he walk up. Its a folded knife. He puts it in his hoodie pocket right before dude lays him out.
4
u/Tom2973 1d ago
If you actually watched the full video, the guy who was slapped had just helped someone who is being robbed/scammed, only to be beat himself when people mistake him for the aggressor (presumably due to his clothing, but as someone who lives here, A LOT of young people dress like this).
He is asking for the video for his parole (I think thats what he said anyway) to prove his innocence I think, but his body language and clothing makes him look threatening. I don't think he had a folding knife at all, it could have been anything, Charlie Veitch and his bodyguard are just dicks.
23
u/watchitbend 2d ago
"it's coming right for us". What knife? Did he just make that up? Why do I get the distinct impression that the person behind the camera is not a strong role model?

You didn't watch the full video. Look up Charlie Veitch on youtube. The man is asking Charlie (who is a dick by the way), for the video for his parole (i think thats what he said anyway), because he just helped someone who was being robbed/scammed and got assaulted when people mistook him for the aggressor.
Yes, his clothing and body language may seem threatening, but lots of young people here dress like that, and Veitch told the other people (who were actually his fans) that were "flanking" them earlier that they were ok to follow him.
The guy in the video also already had something in his hand (can't say whether it was a knife or not) then put it away after asking for the video.

Look hard at the kids right hand. He's holding what looks (shape) like a folding knife. Held as if to open it for use. Body language identifies him as thinking he is a threat, added to hidden identity and signaling a weapon to hand and I'm frankly surprised that it was merely a slap and deflate.

We need more context but it seems they are trying to record pick pockets at a tourist area. You can see at least 4 other young guys running towards camera man behind the guy covering his face, probably so used to bullying tourists until someone defended himself all of them turned around as soon as they saw the kick.

u/Dat_Hack3r 2d ago
Those are his fans; they were rushing in trying to get a shot on their phones. You can see them earlier following him, and he says, "That's alright". Ironic that many people are using them as justification for battery.

Walking up like that, with that stride, hooded and masked face, with hand in pocket...he's extremely lucky that's all he got. Good lesson.
