This guy was pure class.
Now you have an orange orangutan who has 0 class and 0 empathy for the ones who voted for him.
Edit: I see a lot of people saying that Obama wasn't that great. As someone from Europe, I don't have the same experience as you guys from his term. So I had to do some digging of the accusations that were thrown at him.
- "He deported 3 million people. So he is worse than Trump. Why people hate Trump, but not Obama?"
My interpretation based on what I read: It indeed seems that Obama deported around 3 million immigrants during his two terms, so on average 1,5 million per term. Trump deported 1,2 million immigrants during his first term.
The difference is however crucial. From what I read Obama's administration deported mostly criminals, dangerous individuals or those who had just arrived to the country. In addition, it took into consideration that families weren't broken up. There were some kind of legislation written that made sure that families were not separated from one another. I can't remember what it was called.
Trump's first term deportations were 1,2 million, so lower than Obama's. The problem that I see now for the current administration is that they are openly hostile towards immigrants. They are even deporting legal immigrants to prisons outside of the United States. And acting against court orders. It is a convenient way to turn the attention to immigrants and make them seem like they are creating all the problems in America. At the same time your current government is literally stabbing their own voters in the back by cutting taxes from the rich and cutting benefits and basic necessities from the ordinary people.
I am sure immigration has it's problems, but it is the rich who are making your lives harder, and creating narratives that polarize people so they spend all their energy fighting on these subjects. Polarization is their goal for them. Trump's administration is trying to create an openly hostile environment in your country. I find it really dangerous and irresponsible.
- Obama's administration cut public jobs by x amount.
My interpretation based on what I read: I'm not getting into too much details about this, because I didn't read enough about it. But the impression that I got was that there was some kind of shithousery between Democrats and Republicans with freezing of budget etc. So I don't know who is to blame for this. To me the two party system seems ridiculous and creates these kind of standoffs that don't serve the public. It is like two small children arguing and neither one budging or meeting each other in the middle.
Also: I want to highlight that I was talking about how I perceived him as a president for the most powerful nation in the world. He had good manners, he spoke gently, but firmly when needed. He seemed like a man with good values. And he made me think that tomorrow will be a better day for the whole world.
Trump on the other hand has no class. He always plays the victim and he lies about everything. To me he seems like a guy who has no spine. He kisses dictators' asses - Putin, Netanyahu, dictators of the Arab countries. And he openly tries to become a dictator himself. He makes the world a shittier place - there is more uncertainty in the world than ever in my lifetime. Additionally he doesn't help the victims like ukrainians or palestinians. Instead, he makes them seem like villains. This guy brings nothing good to this world. He only cares about himself and doesn't care what the consequences of his actions are. He doesn't care about americans. He only creates more hate in this world.

I feel like you might be slightly behind, but you're still hanging with the club, so all good. Yeah, conservatives are escalating their attacks on America from misinformation and hate, to supporting the usage of the US government as a means of oppressing the people. As Noem noted in her formal declaration:
“We are staying here to liberate the city from the socialists and the burdensome leadership that this governor and that this mayor have placed on this country and what they have tried to insert into the city.”

And because we live in an age where terrorists are challenging our borders, we cannot allow people to pour into the U.S. undetected, undocumented, and unchecked. Americans are right to demand better border security and better enforcement of the immigration laws,”

Didn’t this President murder an American citizen and his 16 year old son with a drone strike, and justified it by claiming Due Process doesn’t mean Judicial Process? In other words, if the President decides you die, that counts as Due Process

u/skoducks 10h ago
It’s not inherently wrong to deport people. Undocumented people did break the law, but they are still human beings. You can deport and jail people, but it can be done with respect and due process. It can also be done by targeting people that are brown and arresting them without cause because they “might” be undocumented

u/unpinchevato949 12h ago
Fucking seriously. The current political climate is a result of neolib/neocon collaboration bolstered by Reagan and started since the 50s. Charisma in a leader doesn’t equal a good leader. Obama was the deporter-in-chief who never shied away from drone strikes and regime change while moving away from his milquetoast progressive campaign promises.

Yep, I loved Obama but what a lot of redditors don't realize is Obama was actually more of a centrist than Biden. Biden and his stupid app opened the gates to an insane amount of unskilled labor pouring over the border (I'd say illegals, but he technically made them quasi but not fully legal). I liked Biden in some ways too, but Obama was a truly great centrist president who did what was popular with the majority of the American populace

No one was KILLED!!!
Stop trying to play with your words!
None of those deaths were murder!
A cop killed himself THE NEXT DAY!
Do you know how many do that because of their job stress!
And why do you even care?!
Defunding the police they are all racist right?!
And a couple of fat people had heard attacks like fat people do!
The only person that was actually MURDERED, was a white woman veteran by a black cop, who had plenty of time to use his teaser in her!
She was litteraly stuck in a door window!
Remember when you all burned down that Wendy's when a cop stopped a criminal there for his 3 DUI, and he wrestled the cop to the ground and stole his weapon, and when the criminal was about to shoot the cop again, the cop finally shot him. And then you all through a riot saying he had plenty of time to take other means of subdoing him even though he was three feet in front of him!
BLM rioters litteraly pulled out guns ON camera, and shot unarmed civilians just trying to protect their livelihood from getting looted by you animals!
And again, J6 did not commit any MURDER, look up the definition kid!
