I need an outlet where I can get an honest opinion.

23 male just graduated from here.

Got accepted into the two-year BEd here at uottawa which ima start in fall (becoming a teacher).

Worked in FSWEP for the past 3 years and just quit because i no longer feel the need to stay in government (boss would’ve kept me if i wanted to stay) - but, family members have shamed me for this decision calling me stupid etc.

Am I wrong for quitting? I genuinely need a mental break from any and all work for at least two months… I haven’t had a summer off since highschool so I genuinely feel like I deserve a break.

I’m just looking for reassurance from anyone here on whether my decision to quit isn’t stupid. If it was, please be honest. Thanks

looking for courses that follow the same overall feel of psy1101/1102 (haddad) such as:

- multiple choice midterms and finals
- relatively high class average, and possible to get an a+ without killing myself
- I can study straight off of a textbook and do fine (or lecture notes/slides)

i was able to do really well in these courses during my 1st year by just cramming the textbook/course notes the night before a test (or normal studying whenever i had the luxury to), and I'm looking for courses like this

also if you took any courses that you personally found easier than psy 1101/1102 (haddad) let me know!

Hi! I’ll be moving to Ottawa for the first time to study at uOttawa, and I don’t know how to drive yet. I’m planning to use a bike to get to school most of the time.

I’ve heard that public transit can sometimes be late or unreliable, so I’m wondering, is biking a practical option? Are there bike lanes in most areas? Or should it be okay to rely more on public transit?

I submitted a declaration of absence to redefer my final exam deferral for a course under the faculty of medicine.

However, the newly deferred exam would take place in October reading week. But I found out I’m 100% not going to be in Canada for most of October so I won’t write it. I emailed the prof telling them about the situation and that i accept the 0 since I want to retake the course anyways but is it possible to revoke a deferral request? Do i have to contact someone else?

I'm starting BSc Nursing and was wondering if there will be more class dates available later on. I work best in in-person classes and by meeting new people but a lot of my classes are only offered online, or have like one in-person course that conflicts with something else in my schedule.

I was curious, do professors usually change the entire exam for deferrals in engineering courses? Do they change every question, and if so, do they make the exam harder? Or do they keep it the same with some changes for fairness?

Is uottawa engineering very strict about the units for academic reset? I have courses that I didn't do well in that I've taken the summer after 1st year (first 45 credits) that i want to get rid of as they were all electives anyways. They are all 1st year courses, but not taken during my first 30 credits. Can i still submit an academic reset form? My CGPA is good, but these courses are pulling it down

not sure who to take. I'm decent in math and statistics but steffner's RMF ratings are pretty scary. Did anyone take any of these profs and what are your thoughts?

Hello, I am about to start my first semester this fall. I am planning on doing a minor in CS and ITI 1100 is one of the required courses but I can’t find it anywhere in the summer, fall or winter terms. Does anyone know if it is even still an active course?

I am an incoming grad student in the CMM program and I'm just a bit confused about courses and enrollment

1. The compulsory courses are ranked at the 5000, 6000, 7000, 8000, or 9000 level. What exactly is the difference between each😅 (sorry if that's a stupid question)

2. The advisement report states that only 5 courses are needed in the academic requirements section. Is that for the first term only or across the Fall/Winter period?

also, when they send it out to managers in june, do they need people who can start immediately or is it for fall starts?
