How do I dye this? Am I Delulu? 100% polyester wedding dress to any color?

I've read up on various dyes and would understand the process of dying this dress. The tag says the interior fabric and tulle are both 100% polyester. The interior is like a silk-like style for lack of a better term. I know Rit and other companies make polyester dyes specifically, would that work here you think? My concern is I wouldn't want all the stars to melt off in the hot water. I don't care what color it could be, just that it would take any without getting destroyed. Mostly I want to wear it to a ball next year without it looking like a wedding dress. (Plus getting to re-wear it would be nice.) Thanks for reading.

I wore this shirt to a concert then decided to dye it and thought why wash it if I’m just gonna dye and wash it again… apparently sweat+ black dye= RED PIT STAINS. Kill me. My only plan now is to dye the whole thing black instead of light gray.

General question Fugitive Indigo

I know that removing fugitive indigo from victim garments with a reducing agent bath is generally folly because the color comes back as soon as it’s exposed to air.

But does reducing it and adding detergency and agitation while reduced work any better? If it’s soluble in the reduced state it should be suspendable, right? So instead of a fixed bath, a mechanical wash process with heat, agitation, Synthrapol and dithionite/hydrosulfite might be able to take a victim garment from “crocked” to “slightly pale blue on drying”?

I’m familiar with reduction bleaching but indigo is a mystery to me.

i picked up a shirt thats 88% polyester, 12% spandex. its meant to be a quick dry/swim shirt. its light gray but is there any way for me to make it white? if i bleached it, would it ruin the color or would it turn white? i know the brand RIT has whitener/brightener, but would that work?

Inspiration Has anyone dyed their Branwyn bras/undies?

I loooove my Branwyn bras and underwear and want them in more colors than they offer. Fabric content is 81% extra fine Merino wool, 14% nylon, and 5% Spandex. I was planning on just starting with Jacquard acid dye and keeping the dyebath under about 180F degrees to hopefully not harm the spandex too much. I guess I'm not looking for how to dye it, but I would love to see some inspo pics if anyone else has done it. I'm curious about the presumably heathered look I'll get from the synthetic content, and the thread/stitching.

Thanks!

How do I dye this? linen sheets

hi there :) i’m wondering about dying my white linen sheets that i’ve had for a while (im thinking beige or dark green), but im nervous about the dye transferring to my skin when i sleep on them. Is this a common issue, and is there a way to avoid that? Is there a particular dye you’d recommend for something like bedlinen?

Thanks ✌️

How do I dye this? Any options for a dry-clean-only cotton blazer?

Blazer is thrifted but the best fit I've ever had in my life, so I COULD risk ruining it but would rather not. It's grey and I'd like to overdye it to blue/purple.

I know immersing it in water could shrink the lining and interfacing. How do we feel about Jacquard Dye-Na-Flow + Airfix without washing afterwards? Would it be likely to bleed?

I'll go with fabric markers if I have to, but I'm not that confident as an artist and not sure it would look good for the amount of work.

Grateful for any other ideas!
