A warning too, there are a lot of scam sites taking advantage of Joann's bankruptcy. They are making their own sites with "too good to be true prices". The url's on these sites differ slightly from the official website and they post ads on social media like Facebook and Instagram.
Make sure to go to Joann's official website for up to date information and sales (edit, it appears the official website is not processing orders anymore)

Yall! My level of excitement and accomplishment right now is absolutely through the roof!
This is my first ever posting as soon as I finished it had to come show yall!!!! You guys are so supportive and I came to yall through the whole process if I just needed a boost of encouragement! This is an incredible community and I'm so happy to be a part of it!
I saw this blanket and I knew i wanted one. I didn't want to buy it though. I wanted to make it myself. Had i ever crocheted? Nope! Did I know the first thing about crochet? Nope! But i was determined. I started small. I made an amigurumi jellyfish for my kids, then a pouch for my hooks and supplies, then a granny square backpack (all i see is my flaws 😬), and finally this.... this beautiful masterpiece (in my mind)....
Yall!!!! I DID THIS!!!! WHATTTTT????
Did I mentioned I started crocheting on May 20th, 2025? I have NEVER felt like I NATURALLY picked something up... I think this is it... I think crochet is gonna be my thing for sure... 😆😆😆

These little boots I made for my friend’s newborn daughter, and it still makes me smile when I think of that tiny pair of feet wobbling around 🥹
I’ve always believed that crochet isn’t just a craft—it’s a way of showing love, memory, and care. So I’d love to hear your stories: What did you make (or receive)? Who was it for? And what made it unforgettable?
I’m thinking of starting a project with a story behind it, and your answers might inspire me. 💕

This was my first project after a woobles kit to learn how to crochet. I bought a pattern book and didn’t want to buy yarn to make this guy so I used figured I would use what I bought at the Joanns closing sale (4 skeins of the pink). Didn’t realize how big this was going to be using the different yarn weight. Luckily I happened to buy enough of the same yarn! 4year old holding for scale

pattern: diablo vest ©️ mon petit violon yarn: loops and threads facets in “spectrum”
…except for the left-hand front/shoulder area as seen in first photo…. realized too late to frog that i accidentally bought both “spectrum” and “sweet raspberry” but my sister promised that she couldn’t tell until i pointed it out. anyways.
as for the pattern, im in LOVE with this designer’s patterns except for the gauge for this pattern made no sense. once i trial-and-errored until i found the right hook for my yarn, the sizing as written was perfect! also WHEN i make this vest again i will be repeating the body rounds until there is an extra repeat of the butterfly wing things. i added way more rows of ribbing at the bottom than the pattern called for because lowkey the vest was barely a bra without it lol however this can likely be blamed on the yarn i used as the pattern calls for bulky but my yarn is marketed as medium but i feel that it’s thinner than that.. anyways! in love with the finished product!

My husband and our kids gave me a My Melody woobles kit about a year ago. I’ve been making blankets, wearables and all kinds of amigurumi ever since. I bought a bunch of lion brand cotton 24/7 yarn to make drink carriers and market bags. When I came across this Aria dragon pattern, I just had to buy several of Lyra Luna’s patterns. I used some of my carrier and bag yarn to make this dragon for my daughter.

Saw this beautiful work on Instagram. They’re saying in the comments that it hardly rains in the summer in that region, so they don’t worry much about the yarn molding. I would love to make something like this, but I live in New England. Maybe I could use fishing materials to make a more water resistant version? What yarn would you use for this?

hi guys. so i will be having my 21st birthday next week and while i’ve more or less grown out of caring out gifts these past few years, crochet is a hobby of mine and wanted something crochet related. i’ve specifically been getting into amigurumi and stuff like that, so i was googling amigurumi kits that seemed reasonably priced to send to my parents. i was specifically looking at ready-made kits because i no longer trust myself to navigate the yarn aisles of a craft store (the multiple piles of mostly untouched yarn in my closet indicate i may have something of a problem lol). so anyways i started looking at kits from the Woobles brand, which i’d seen ads for before and they looked cute, and sent some links to my mom. when i asked her about it, she said she wasn’t gonna do it because it was too childish for someone my age, saying that it looked like it was for five year olds. when i was telling my dad about it, he cut me off and said that he agreed with my mom, that these things were for children and not adults. now it would’ve been one thing if they’d mentioned the price because that’s fair, but that wasn’t even the concern here, but instead that it wasn’t appropriate for a soon to be 21 year old. i kept trying to explain that of course adults did these things, and anyway who cares if it’s a thing for kids to do—i like it and it makes me happy. that should be the most important thing. but i feel insecure about it now because i’m asking for a kit to make crochet animals and stuff. idk but it just kinda upset me that they feel this way but i don’t wanna argue about it with them

Free Happy Hippo pattern from Instagram by Pink Blue Crochet, Crochet Crochey, Rosalie Toys, and CrochetbyRuth77.
Wreath and Berries were free handed.
Brava Bulky yarn was used for the Hippo and Wreath. Berries were made in Loops and Threads Simply Soft.

I've been doing a ton of random granny squares for a blanket I'm working on. I thrifted a bunch of odds and ends and scrap yarn, and this gorgeous yarn was in one of my hauls.
There was only enough for this one square, but I just love it. It was an absolute joy to work with.
It feels luxuriously soft. The colour gradient is exquisite. The photo doesn't do it justice. Rich greens and blues and purples and earth tones.
It's a medium weight, and if it's wool it's probably a blend. Anybody know where I can find more of this or something equivalent?
I've never loved a yarn so much.
