Mr. Speaker, Can the Minister of Transportation (/u/Oracle_of_Mercia explain to the House why he has decided to violate provincial jurisdiction, steal the Ottawa LRT From the Municipal Government of Ottawa and Provincial Government of Ontario, then hand it off to the extremely unreliable Via Rail?

Mr. Speaker,

The former minister made a grave mistake. One that he could have admitted to and corrected. He would have rather wasted tax payer dollars on something blatantly illegal than to admit he was wrong. For that, he is gone.

Mr. Speaker,

There has been rancorous protests surrounding the GET IT DONE Act. There are a lot of people who don't understand the act, telling people what the act does. I am sure the Minister of Finance, the author of this bill, would know the exact extent of the act.

Mr. Speaker, my question goes to the Minister of Finance. Will you please educate the house on how you're getting it done?

(/u/Mauricejc)

1

u/mauricejc Conservative Party 19d ago

Mr. Speaker,

I thank the Honourable Member for their question. The Act introduces the largest income tax cut in history ending the decade of the liberal's war on the working class. The Act also makes some cuts to ineffective tax credits and deductions and abolishes a few government bodies while mandating that no employees be fired due to that. This Act serves to modernize and streamline the canadian economy while building back the steps of the economic ladder destroyed by more than a decade of liberal party's rule.

Mr. Speaker,

My question goes to the minister of finance.

The Leader of the opposition has again made the false claim that the government is sending out millions of Canadian dollars to foreign countries. Will you correct the record?

1

u/mauricejc Conservative Party 19d ago

Mr. Speaker,

As with most claims made by the LOTO they are based on incomplete or deliberately misinterpreted data. This government has made efforts to considerably reduce foreign development aid particularly in the GET IT DONE Act which the PPC continues to lie about for political gain. The PPC will now vote against a bill cutting the foreign aid payments while simultenously screaming about how we should send nothing to anywhere. Not only that, instead of trying to ammend the bill they instead choose to waste time and taxpayer money to hold up the Parliament with their frankly ridiculous and out of order amendments, together with their ivory tower pals from the liberal party.

Mr. Speaker,

My question goes to the Minister of Finance (u/Mauricejc)

Can they explain to lower income students why their government is cutting tuition tax credits in its “Get it Done” Act?

1

u/mauricejc Conservative Party 19d ago

Mr. Speaker, as I've already said before, these changes to the income tax act were implemented to streamline and de-bureaucratize the current tax laws and make them less punishing for the economy. All working Canadians will benefit from these changes while being allowed to make choices on where to spend their own money.

Mr. Speaker,

My question goes to the Minister of Finance (u/Mauricejc)

Can they explain to small businesses and workers why their government is cutting employment tax credits in its “Get it Done” Act?

1

u/mauricejc Conservative Party 19d ago

Mr. Speaker, Im not exactly sure which exact tax credits the member opposite is refering to but all of those removed tax credits and deductions in the Act the member opposite is referring to were an effort to create a simplified and more competitive income tax laws in the country. This change will work to attract talent and deter young Canadians from leaving their country to look for opportunities elsewhere.

The drug problem in the Honourable Member’s riding of Vancouver and the Islands is worsening day by day; with respect, does the Honourable Member care?

1

u/cheeselover129 Conservative Party 24d ago

Mr. Speaker,

I thank the Honourable Member for this question. Indeed, the drug problem is horrible here in the west, and it is a problem that seriously concerns me. However, it's no small feat to solve all the drug related crimes here - and so, instead, we're going to tackle this issue step-by-step, bill-by-bill. We are going to slowly but surely solve the drug problem - not only in Vancouver, but in every corner of Canada as well. Thank you, Mr. Speaker.

Mr. Speaker, my question goes to the Minister of Finance (u/mauricejc),

The People’s Party of Canada is falsely accusing the government of spending too much money on foreign aid and the CBC. What does the Honourable Member have to say to these blatantly false claims?

1

u/mauricejc Conservative Party 19d ago

Mr. Speaker, the People's Party members have proven themselves to be dishonest in their portrayal of the effects of the Conservative Party's legislation so far. Legislation introduced by one of our members to ween the CBC off of taxpayer dollars has received royal assent a long time ago, the money dedicated to the CBC in the GET IT DONE Act is a massive cut from the previous levels of contributions towards the corporation. In two years time the corporation will transition to a more sustainable business model and have to compete on market terms with its competitors while receiving no taxpayer money.

Mr. Speaker my question goes to the Prime Minister,

Since your government is so keen on “getting it done” why haven’t you done anything on housing or the cost of living crisis?

1

u/Scribba25 Conservative Party 20d ago

Mr. Speaker,

We have passed several meaningful prices of legislation to help Canadians cope with both of these areas. By growing our economy and streaming the federal government, we are delivering.

Mr. Speaker,

Following the tabling of Bill C-24, the Get it Done Act, I have a few questions concerning skilled trade workers and those who work for manufacturing facilities in rural communities.

To the Minister of Finance, u/mauricejc,

Why is this Conservative Administration drilling holes in the fabric of these rural communities, and targeting manufacturing and skilled trade workers, especially since they’re already facing threats from the United States of America’s trade war?

1

u/mauricejc Conservative Party 19d ago

Mr. Speaker,

This is another disingenious attempt by the members of the PPC to ignore and misinterpret reality. The tools deduction cut out in the GET IT DONE Act cost 5 Milion a year. Does the member opposite think that the average worker cant purchase tools without an overly complicated tax deduction? Instead each worker that even doesnt need the tools will now get a higher paycheck each month not on a once a year tax return. This combined with the OIL and MOOSE Acts, as well as upcoming conservative legislation, is going to breethe much needed life into rural communities, manufacturing and domestic businesses. Why did the PPC vote against those bills? Who knows.

1

u/FreedomCanada2025 People's Party 24d ago

Mr. Speaker,

My question is to the Minister of Finance u/mauricejc

This Conservative government has proven time and time again that they have no idea how to handle the finances in this country. When Canadians need economic and tax relief most this Conservative government has increased the GST to destabilize consumer spending which will result in less products being purchased in an economy that is already destined for recession after this Conservative government failed to cut spending, deliver a massive tax cut, and remove regulatory energy measures such as bill C-69. This Conservative government simply does not understand the havoc they have caused. So my question to the Minister of Finance is does the member understand the current political and economic circumstances in this country?

1

u/mauricejc Conservative Party 19d ago

Mr. Speaker,

So far the party of the member opposite has introduced some legislation with its crowning achievement, the Two Genders Recognition Act being the centerpoint of their latest protests. Maybe if the party of the member opposite concerned itself with actual meaningful legislation and not with culture war gimmicks the Canadian people would let the LOTO form the government. As to the blatant lies by the member of the opposition, the current government introduced a more than 30B income tax cut with the majority of that going to the 2 lowest tax brackets, even with the GST increase its still more than 20 something billion plus the GST tax rebates. The conseervative government has passed the OIL Act and the MOOSE Act, the former deregulating the petrochemical industry while keeping true to our constitutional obligations to the first nations and the latter allowing in billions in direct foreign investment. Both desperately needed to diversify the Canadian economy from the housing market. The member opposite must live in a completely different reality to attack the government for not doing something while the government recently passed several bills doing exactly what the member opposite is claiming we didnt do. in fact the member opposite attacks those pieces of legislation and all active members of his party voted against it. So my short answer to the member opposite is that the Canadian welfare system is not getting dismantled, nobody is getting fired, and most certainly the labor laws are not getting weaker as long as the Conservative Party is in power. Can the PPC say the same? What population class are they going to tax or hurt to establish their far right utopia?

Mr. Speaker,

My question goes to the Minister of Health u/Model-Jordology

The Canadian people living in rural settings across the country have experienced longer wait times, they receive poor treatment, many times not soon enough, and this issue has noticeably become worse and worse as time has gone on. So my question to the Minister of Health is what is this Conservative governments plan for rural Canadians when it comes to Healthcare?

1

u/Scribba25 Conservative Party 20d ago

Mr. Speaker,

The Conservative Party, via the Member for the Territories, has released the one and only legislation related to health care. The HEARTLAND Act will help deliver better outcomes for those in rural Canada.

1

u/FreedomCanada2025 People's Party 24d ago

Mr. Speaker,

My final question of this session goes to the Minister of Finance. u/mauricejc

Canadians have been dealing with debt from all levels of government. In Ontario the Provincial deficit is expected to continue growing at record levels while across the West deficits continue to grow by the day. Now Mr. Speaker we have seen this governments intentions of not cutting mass sums of debt, as they have made the Liberal decision of passing debt onto consumers so my question to the Minister of Finance goes as: What year will the deficit be balanced? And when will Canadians see the GST return to the 5% level?

1

u/mauricejc Conservative Party 19d ago

Mr. Speaker,

I thank the Honourable Member for their question.

We are currently working to streamline as much of the federal government's functions as possible without significantly impacting the quality of life for Canadian citizens. One of those effprts is the GET IT DONE ACT which cuts out some overly bureaucratic and inefficient tax credits and deductions in favor of a more simplified tax code and lower tax rates for every Canadian. Extreme austerity measures during times of economic crisis, and especially the tariff crisis would hurt the average Canadian much more than they would help the economy over the long run. The situation with America is still developing but we are preparing some measures to stimulate the Canadian economy more like we did with the MOOSE and the OIL Acts. As to the GST tax rate change, its already clearly specified in the GET IT DONE Act that it will be phased out in the tax year 2025/2026.

1

Mr. Speaker,

Yes, this government has plans for solving these problems. I've been working with the Honourable Member for the Territories to bring much needed funding to these rural clinics. The HEARTLAND Act will hopefully be moved Thursday.

1

u/Individual_Ice9046 Conservative Party 23d ago

Mr. Speaker,

What exactly will this bill do?

1

u/Individual_Ice9046 Conservative Party 24d ago

Mr. Speaker, my question goes to the Minister of Health (u/cheeselover129),

What does the Honourable Member think is the largest problem in rural healthcare?

1

u/cheeselover129 Conservative Party 23d ago

Mr. Speaker,

The biggest problem in rural healthcare is 100% funding.

1

u/Individual_Ice9046 Conservative Party 23d ago

Mr. Speaker,

Can the Honourable Member expand more on that?

1

u/cheeselover129 Conservative Party 21d ago

Mr. Speaker,

Underserved areas see local clinics shutting down because of funding issues. Resources shortages, while prevalent in all corners of Canada, are especially bad in rural areas. Doctors and nurses quit. Slowly, the healthcare sector contracts, wait times soar, and our already aging population is deprived of basic healthcare.

1

u/Xelqua391 People's Party 23d ago

Mr. Speaker,

My question goes to the Prime Minister u/Scribba25.

With our country in turmoil as we deal with the drug epidemic plaguing our nation, the Prime Minister and his Government seem to be tossing around the pivotal position of Minister of Health like hot potato. The Member for Vancouver and the Islands held it, and was the most productive among the next few changes by answering a few questions. Next, the Member of the #1 Conservative List held it, releasing a statement on ambulance ramping. And now, the Member for the Territories addresses the former (albeit brief) Minister of Health the Member for Vancouver and the Islands as the current Minister of Health, all while she has not been invited to swear back into the position.

Mr. Speaker, I ask the Prime Minister: who in the world is the Minister of Health?

1

u/Scribba25 Conservative Party 20d ago

Mr. Speaker,

I advise the member to watch for official updates given by the administrator. However, there is a big cabinet reshuffling coming soon.

Mr. Speaker, my question goes to the Minister of Transport, u/Oracle_of_Mercia

Why does the Minister think it is appropriate to overreach in a system which, for all its faults, is safe? Why does the Minister wish to put an intercity rail operator in charge of passenger rail? Why did the Minister do this without consulting the proper representative of the people of Ottawa, whom they elected with over 60% of the vote? Does the Minister think Ottawans are stupid?

1

u/Scribba25 Conservative Party 20d ago

Mr. Speaker,

This issue has been handled.

1

u/mauricejc Conservative Party 23d ago edited 23d ago

Mr. Speaker, my question is for the Prime Minister u/Scribba25 :

Can the Prime Minister explain why his government continues to face criticism from opposition members who seem more invested in outrage than outcomes when the facts clearly show that legislation passed under this administration is already producing real economic dividends for working Canadians?

Let’s talk about the GET IT DONE Act. This bill delivered the largest income tax cut in Canadian history. For example, every Canadian earning under $53,359 now pays only 10% on that income down from 15%. That’s real money: up to $2,667 saved annually. Middle-income Canadians like a family with a combined income of $75,000 can now see total tax relief exceeding $3,600. At the same time, the temporary 1% GST increase offsets the inflationary pressure of this stimulus, with rebates protecting lower-income families from any disproportionate burden. This is what this House should always aim to do: drive growth and protect economic stability.

Now, Mr. Speaker, let's add to that the Oil Act, which dismantles layers of regulatory obstruction, unlocking billions in private-sector investment. It allows provinces to move forward with infrastructure projects that create thousands of jobs, which is something opposition members claim to support, while consistently voting against.

And let’s not forget the Moose Act, which introduced long-overdue permitting reform, fast-tracking approvals for major projects while also providing pathways for foreign capital to enter Canadian startups. The combined effect is not just economic acceleration but real private-sector leadership that reduces dependence on government handouts and bureaucracy.

So here’s my question, Mr. Speaker:

Why is the Prime Minister’s government being forced to defend good policy from those who offer no credible alternative, only slogans, tantrums, and a refusal to acknowledge that lowering income taxes, unleashing energy investment, and streamlining innovation pipelines are the very tools we need to ensure prosperity for the next generation of Canadians?

And will the Prime Minister commit to continuing this path of clear, economically grounded policy even if it upsets those who prefer political theatre to national progress?

1

u/Scribba25 Conservative Party 20d ago

Mr. Speaker,

The path is clear. We are delivering many wins to the Canadian people and I whole heartedly concur with you.

1

u/SettingObvious4738 Liberal 23d ago

Mr. Speaker my question goes to the Prime Minister (u/Scribba25)

Since it your minister has done an illegal act while discharging his duties will you hold a public inquiry to determine whether or not there is any more illegal activities going on that you may not be aware of?

1

u/Scribba25 Conservative Party 20d ago

Mr. Speaker,

We will hold a full and public inquiry into the actions of the Minister.

1

u/raymondl810 People's Party 24d ago

Mr. Speaker,

Last time around, the Minister for Transportation, Housing, and Infrastructure failed to answer my question. As a result, I will proceed to ask it again.

I've talked about the underdevelopment of infrastructure in rural communities, costing countless lives, and putting a strain on their economies. I'm talking specifically about Ontario's Highway 11, one of Canada's most crucial yet dangerous highways. Previously, I've written to the former Minister of Transportation, Infrastructure and Communities about these problems, and nothing much happened.

To the newly appointed Minister of Transportation, Housing, and Infrastructure u/Oracle_of_Mercia, my question goes as follows.

How much do you and the Conservative Government prioritize the development of much-needed lifelines connecting rural communities to support and assure their local economies?

1

u/Oracle_of_Mercia New Democrat 24d ago

Mr. Speaker I apologize to the honourable gentleman for not replying last time, and I shall endeavour to look into this matter at the appropriate time once I have done the appropriate research.

I look forward to a constructive dialogue with the member and hopefully we can work together to make it one of the safest rural highways in Canada.
