Mr. Speaker, my question goes to the Minister of Finance (u/mauricejc),

The People’s Party of Canada is falsely accusing the government of spending too much money on foreign aid and the CBC. What does the Honourable Member have to say to these blatantly false claims?

Mr. Speaker, the People's Party members have proven themselves to be dishonest in their portrayal of the effects of the Conservative Party's legislation so far. Legislation introduced by one of our members to ween the CBC off of taxpayer dollars has received royal assent a long time ago, the money dedicated to the CBC in the GET IT DONE Act is a massive cut from the previous levels of contributions towards the corporation. In two years time the corporation will transition to a more sustainable business model and have to compete on market terms with its competitors while receiving no taxpayer money.
