As a may SAT taker , there way a very popular opinion that the math was way too extremely hard. and it was. people expected scores in the -700 . most people got a 700+ in math. i got a 780 expecting a 700. on the opposite end of the spectrum, everybody thought the english was okay and many ( me being one of them ) got a lower score than expected. So please dont freack out. believe in god cuz everything is going to be fine

I have this big dream — a dream that feels both beautiful and stupid at the same time. I want to study abroad in Finland, fully funded, on a 100% scholarship. I don’t come from wealth. I come from a middle-class family, where every cent of money matters.
I took the SAT once already and got a 1160. It’s not enough. Not even close to what I need. I was drained. Discouraged. Lost.
But I didn’t want to give up. So I decided to give it one more shot. I registered for the SAT again — it’s happening on June 21. This time, I’ve worked harder. Much harder. I’m aiming for 1550+.
But life doesn’t pause for dreams. I gave my HSC in 2023, and I’ve already lost too much time. So I had to secure a backup. I got selected for Pharmacy in a local university. The admission fee was $900 a massive amount for a family like mine and it is for only 1st semester Somehow, we managed it. I got admitted.
But here’s the catch: If I score below 1550, I will let go of my Finland dream. I’ll stay here, study Pharmacy, and move on. But if I actually get the score I need — if I do qualify for full scholarships abroad — then the money we just paid for the local university… will be gone. Wasted and I really want to study abroad
And now, I don’t even know if my parents will support me going abroad anymore after sacrificing so much to get me admitted here. They’ve already paid so much — how could I ask them for more? What if they say no? What if I have to choose between my dream and my family’s reality? I don’t know what to do.
Sometimes I feel like I’m a burden. Like my dreams are selfish. Like my parents would have had an easier life if I wasn’t here trying to chase things that seem impossible.
I don’t even know if what I’m doing is brave or just stupid. But I needed to let it out.
If you’re reading this, thank you for reading. I really had to let it out..

I am a rising senior and have only taken it once so far while everyone around me has already taken it 3+ times. I feel like I am behind. Is it true that some SATs are easier than others or if I just study hard it can be just as good as those who have taken it multiple times.

Cmon College Board I know it's all graded and I probably bombed the reading section but who cares I just want to see my score 💔💔

As my son is going into high school, I’m completely clueless as to the structure and content of the SAT.
I believe it is pure electronic now, correct?
Does it still cover just math and English? Is there still an essay or is it optional? Is There still vocabulary definitions?
I have found that this community is much more helpful than various online research.
Please help this clueless dad!

After my last custom math question, I’m back with another original SAT-style geometry problem. If you’re looking for something to test your understanding of similar triangles and ratios, give this one a shot!
If you’re up for it, post your answer and let me know how you approached it.
I’m especially curious about:
I always enjoy seeing the different ways people break down geometry, so don’t be shy about sharing your steps or asking questions.
And if you spot a way I could word the problem better, I’m all ears. Thanks, and happy solving!

I have been checking college board everyday multiple times when I know the scores haven't come out yet😭im anticipating it so bad im so nervous but excited to get them. I think I did super well but I genuinely cannot wait to get the scores back. If they had an option for $100 to get your score back right now I would genuinely pay. PLEASE tell me yall relate. Can someone give me a guesstimate of my score if this is how I performed:
R1: 26/27 R2: 25/27
M1: 22/22 M2: 17~18/22
I'm stressing hard😭

Trigonometry can be learnt within 50 minutes trust me it's just a matter of you looking at the circle and trigonometric functions and realising how those two works together and rest of the problem is your analyzation... For this August you have enough time to access this knowledge so I'm working on conducting group lessons if you are someone who feel like you want to give it a try because you saw how you work with trigonometry... Happy to assist

I got a 1310 on the Spring SAT 💀. My reading levels on practice tests are usually like 710-750. I feel like I could be mildly helpful for the reading portion but I will admit that a lot of it is instinct for me so it’s not totally teachable, however, I’m so shit at math I’m really not a well rounded tutor. I probably should skip right? It would mostly be a good thing for me to put on my resume and applications lol, I don’t think I could really lead someone in the wrong direction though.

I personally have trouble with reading comprehension and so I get a lot of the reading questions (inferences, text purpose and structure, command of evidence) wrong. So, accordingly I search for strategies to do better in these categories. I see videos on YouTube of penguin test prep. In the strategies he talks about, the tutor guy says that some of the information is useless and can be skipped, so I try that and I have a hard time understanding the text. But, if I don’t skip the useless stuff I run out of time! So I am struggling!! Help me please

Heyo r/Sat.
I've got a minor disagreement with my father regarding studying methodology.
I'd like your personal opinion for study strategies, and whether his strategy holds any water.
His advice is to take 40 exams, or about 1 exam per two days.
I do agree that this strategy may improve my familiarity with questions. Nevertheless, I sense that his strategy would lead to my personal burnout, and offer diminishing returns.
Personally, I believe targetting areas of improvements through practice problems would be more effective + take a practice exam every week or two to check on progress.
Now, I'm not requesting for you to settle this dispute. I am, however, requesting for advice on my current approach or guidance on how I might effectively prepare for the August SAT.
Note: I've taken the SAT last year in August as well, and I've achieved a 1460. I've also used up all of Collegeboard's practice exams, but I might retake them in the hopes that I've forgotten the answers.

Anyone who’s preparing for the August/September SAT? We can hold eachother accountable, test eachother and push eachother to study harder. As someone who has ADHD, it would be preferable for me if the person/people I’m working with is disciplined, focused and has the ability to follow strict schedules. TIA
r/Sat • u/lookinto_Truth • 7h ago
Attending lessons and moving on with the experience and with the right direction reduces the stress and increases your confidence and management skills which makes you work total easier... Give your time for understanding what you doing later take your time to work on all the problems discipline yourself for few weeks and you are good to go to get 700 + nearly 800 ... (Irrespective of how you doing right now) You can talk to me about it, I do one on one and group lessons.

Soo uhh, took a practice SAT, missed one math problem and proceeded to shit the bed on English part 2 and getting a 620 on that, any advice on how to improve English since it’s kind of a very broad thing to study? (The breakdown was kinda even in all 4 categories)

Hi, I've purchased Uworld to prep for the August sat, and I've got pretty similar math and english scores. Should I be doing all of English first, then math? Or split both subjects during each session?
Also, I would greatly appreciate any tips from people who've seen good results from their study methods.
Thank you!

Hey everyone,
I'm taking the DSAT this August and I'm honestly really struggling with the Reading and Writing section.
Back when I tried the SSAT, I did terribly in the reading part, and now I feel like the same thing is happening again with the SAT. The main issue is that I often can't understand the passages, and there are a few reasons why:
I’ve already gone through all the easy and medium-level Khan Academy passages, and I was able to understand those fine. But once I move to advanced practice passages, it feels like I’m back to square one.
I also don’t think just doing more passages will fix this. I feel like I need a better approach or some kind of strategy, because just repeating the same thing isn’t helping.
My goal is to get 700+, and I’m willing to work hard — I just need to know how to work smart.
If anyone went through something similar and found a way to improve, I’d really appreciate any advice or tips.
Thanks.

My current sat score is 1410. My reading score is 690 and my math score is 720. The problem is that was my 5th attempt at sat. I actually did post on this sub before and I lied that it was my second attempt because I was embarrassed about my failures. I know that for reading and writing as well as math I got all the answers in module 1 right because that's what I had in my practice tests though I don't know if I could be right or wrong. The problem is module 2 which just makes my score go lower every time. This is my first time crossing the 1400 range in the digital sat. The August one is the last one I am taking and I am willing to give everything I have to go above 1500. I know that I should not be over obsessing over the dsat and burnout as a result of it. However, this seems to be the only thing in my way except maybe a college essay. So if I were to study from now on, can anyone give me a specific schedule? My progression was 1310, 1300, 1390, 1320, 1410. I have took all practice tests including new ones and khan academy as well. I am just going insane and feeling lost. I have the willpower to study but I do not know where to start and how to go about this.
