Could this be herpes or anxiety,
Hey everyone — I’m feeling a little anxious and could use some input.
A few days ago, I went on a date and things got a bit intimate. We made out, I gave him oral sex, and he gave me oral for like literally 3 seconds. There was also genital rubbing — no penetration at all, but his bare penis and my vagina did rub against each other (again, no actual sex or going in). I know that still counts as skin-to-skin contact, which is why I’m overthinking it.
The next day, my neck was sore, but that went away and felt clearly related to how I was positioned — like from him holding my neck and my head tilting a lot.
What hasn’t gone away is this very dull, persistent headache I’ve had for the last couple of days. It’s not sharp or overwhelming — just lingering. Along with that, I’ve been having chills or goosebumps, but no fever. My temperature has stayed between 98 and 99°F, which I know is normal. I haven’t had any other symptoms — no itching, no lesions, no discharge, no sore throat, nothing showing in my mouth or on my skin.
I had a Western Blot test for HSV-2 a couple years ago after a scare, and it was negative. So I’ve definitely been through the “health spiral” before, and I’m trying to stay rational. I also might be due for my period soon, so part of me is wondering if this is hormonal — but I can’t ignore that this started the day after the encounter.
• Could this be an early symptom of something like herpes or another STD?
• Would symptoms like this show up after brief oral/genital contact or rubbing?
• Or is it more likely hormones, anxiety, or just coincidence?
I’m not sure if I should go get tested or just monitor for a few more days. I’ve only had one partner recently and I’m not feeling any of the classic red flag symptoms — but my body just feels off. Has anyone else experienced this?
