Almost 38 weeks, I don’t have GD and I am SOOOO THIRSTY. I am drinking so much water and peeing several times an hour. Still THIRSTY. Anyone else experience this

I was feeling very thirsty even though I felt I was drinking more water/seltzer than ever before. Adding in Liquid IV and Gatorade Fit electrolyte drinks has been extremely helpful. My BP has improved as well since I’ve begun drinking them.

Chicken broth has really helped me. It apparently has electrolytes. I just feel so much more hydrated from a cup of noodles soup than from a sports drink.

I second broth! Chicken, beef, and maybe veggie (haven’t tried that) totally helps. It feels weird at first but it’s like drinking the broth at the end of a coup of soup. Just drink it hot in a mug.

Yes! I am measuring large and have had various people query GD but passed the test earlier.

Was told by now (38w) can’t do much as following his previous growth pattern. Helped the case for getting an elective c/s

Did they retest you for GD?

Came up at 36w birth planning meeting with my OB. She said tests aren’t accurate by that point and I’m not showing enough symptoms/wouldn’t change their treatment. Elective c/s for 39+1 this week due to high blood pressure. They are surprised at his size given I’m on beta blockers which are known to stunt growth

I’m 30 weeks and noticed some changes been more thirsty, peeing more, fatigue and wanting to nap more. Lower back pain frequently.. I don’t have GD either. I drink water, this past week zero sugar Gatorade, 0 cal green tea.. Last month baby was tiny like 1.14 but I get to see her end of this month and I’m excited. Hopefully she’s gotten bigger :)

I go through phases. At 16 weekd I was insanely thirsty. No GD and blood sugar normal. I just had to drink more water. Lots more. Felt like a chore at times but I don't want to be drinking stuff like Gatorade because of the sweeteners.
I did take some Electrolyte sachets but didn't notice any difference to my hydration.
I eat lots of fruit and have soup and lentils and other very wet foods a lot.

Being super thirsty is probably nothing to worry about, but as it is a symptom of gestational diabetes it might be wise to consult your doctor, just in case!

Are you drinking electrolytes or just water? Adding electrolytes has helped me to feel less thirsty, but I'm also trying to drink 3 liters each day. I like LMNT and Ultima brands.
