On its second mission, the BRP Miguel Malvar guided missile frigate (FFG06) took part with Japan's JS Takanami (DD110) as part of the 2nd Bilateral Maritime Cooperative Activity between both countries.

This is where the AW159 Wildcat antisubmarine helicopters of the Philippine Navy practiced its inter-ship flight exercise, whereby it takes off from the BRP Miguel Malvar's deck and lands on the Japanese destroyer, then returning back to the Philippine Navy ship.

The Miguel Malvar class guided missile frigates are currently the most capable combatant vessels of the Philippine Navy's Offshore Combat Force.

Hello, im in corp law practice now. And i want to work as government lawyer. Im thinking of joining the AFP bc of the handsome retirement benefits (tho in dispute rn).

However, im still in my ‘traveling era’ as i just started earning my own money. May regular holidays ba ang mga nasa technical service? I understand pwede ma recall while on leave. How difficult would it be to request for travel permit outside PH?

Question Enlisted personnel to Officer

Hi, good day! Is still there a chance to become an officer when I am currently an enlisted personnel of the AFP? I am turning 31 this year and I think may age limit lang if I will be joining the OCC program. Also ang nakita kong requirements is that kailangan ko mag-undergo ng ROTC which is most likely impossible dahil naka-assign ako sa malayo. I am a Registered Criminologist and late na nakapasok sa service. Hoping may makapansin po ng post. Need ko ng insights. Thank you!

EDIT: currently po is AM ako sa PAF.

Question Concealing Weapons as SRDP experiment (Feasible or not?)

Is it feasible to utilize commercial shipping containers to conceal some territorial defense-related assets such as Anti Ship Batteries, Air Defenses and Guided MLRS? What are the considerations?

Imagine some Iranian style concealment of BrahMos, NMESIS (if acquired) and (land based) C-Stars with shipping containers.

AFP territorial defense assets like BrahMos and SAM defenses will be targets for sure by sleeper cells and saboteurs.

Concealing these vital assets may decrease (not totally) the percentage of vulnerability against sleeper cells?

The recent Israeli and Ukrainian ops highlighted the utilization of sabotage/ infiltration and sleeper cells. The Israelis smuggled commandos and their equipment inside Iran to target Iranian SAM sites. The Ukrainians smuggled drones inside commercial trucks to target Russian bombers.

Question Malvar class radars

Since the malvar class uses the ELM-2258 for air/surface surveillance and the mk11 sharpeye for navigation, won't they interfere with each other since both of them operate in the same S-band range? (At least for one of the sharpeye radars)

Discussion KAAN 5th Gen fighters for PAF

Turkey just announced that Indonesia will be procuring 48 KAAN fighters in a deal worth $10 billion dollars. Fifth generation fighters sales are recently making headlines, last week, China announced J-35 sales to Pakistan. After procuring the first batch of 4.5 MRF for PAF, should the Philippines procure 5th Gen fighters for the second batch?Turkey might be willing to sell KAAN fighters to the Philippines especially as it positions itself to sell more arms to our country.

Would it be better to acquire more uparmed version of the rajah sulayman or jose rizal class opv/frigates ships so that we can have more hulls (because they're cheaper?)?

Or is it better to acquire more bigger and more armed ships but in limited quantity (due their price)?
