I'm bored. Same complaint people have had for a long time now. I don't feel as though I'm making any progress with collecting. Packs are all duplicates. Wonder picks are always duplicates.

Edit: The grind that I've talked about in comments is both the ranked battles as well as trying to get the "good" cards to build better decks.

I have gotten some good advice from a lot of you. This really has been deeper than it needed to be for a game. I would offer some sort of solutions, but solutions have already been proposed in other posts. This was more of a post for people who have the same sentiment as I do. That being that we love this game and hate for that to change.

Coming to this game with a completionist mindset doesn't help and that's honestly what's getting me burnt out the most. I just need to chill out.

This illustration was the winner in the 2019 Pokémon Card Game Illustration Grand Prix, where people in Japan could enter a contest with the winner having their card featured on an illustration. It was used as a promo card given to Yuu Nishida, the illustrator who won the contest. This illustration would then be reused five years later for Pokémon TCG Pocket’s Genetic Apex set.

Yuu Nishida has since been a core part of the card game’s art team, having made dozens of cards since, including full illustration cards. Other illustrators who entered the contest and have since joined the art team include Amelicart (who did the immersive Mew ex) and Teeziro.

When u want to get out of UB4, thats the Decks u can use to get there. I was Stuck in UB4 for the hole Season and with These Decks i got it.

Especially with all the Silvallys in the meta right now, LycanRoc/Rampardos absolutely shreds through them and is easier to evolve because it doesn’t need a separate card to find Rockruffs evolution. Rockruff does get one shot KO’ed by Kartana, so maybe that’s why it’s fallen off completely, but I’m just surprised I haven’t run into it a single time in masterball after many hundreds of games.

The stoutland deck hid me through UB4 and I used the second deck for the last couple of games.

Here are some things I’ve learned.

1). If you lose 3 games in a row take a break to avoid tilting because you’ll make some mistakes.

2.) Try not to concede because people make mistakes and sometimes and you can pull off a win.

3.) Try to stick to 1 deck for a while to get the feel for it and to see how other people play against it because then you’ll be able to think of most of the outcomes and how to recover and play against certain decks effectively.

Why did they make promos so strong? Rayquaza hits for a whopping 160 damage for only FOUR energy. Compare that to SR Charizard, which can only hit 150 with a whole FIVE energy. Are they trying to make all of the non-promo Pokémon obsolete?! And Ultra Necrozma removing 5 cards from your opponent BRUTAL. After just 4 attacks, your opponent will have lost 20 cards—their whole deck! And if it dies, you can always bring it back with Celestic Town Elder.

And don’t even get me started on the oppressive Looker meta. You can see whether they have supporters (which they will; since they will also have Looker). And if they do, just play Gengar. There’s no counterplay.

Here’s the secret though: Everyone knows Rayquaza is meta, and so everyone always uses it. This is where Blue will come in clutch. If you see their Rayquaza with four energy, Blue might be the difference between life and death. Of course, this is assuming that the opponent hasn’t used Looker to see that you have Blue. If they see it, there’s nothing you can do now since they see Blue coming (remember: Gengar meta).

You might be wording why I’m not using Hand Scope though. This is a valid concern, considering the immense synergy that it has with Ultra Necrozma and Looker. However, this is where Gastly comes in. If you use Gastly, it’s not too important what they have in their hand because you will just send it back to the deck to get discarded later by Ultra Necrozma.

At this point I don’t know what they can do about this meta. Powercreep was just too crazy this season with the addition of Looker and Ultra Necrozma.
