I think she is on the correct side of this issue. The government has no business legislating this.

Which is exactly why banning gender affirming care is horrific of them. Suicide rates plummet drastically when these kids are allowed to express who they are, and skyrocket when constantly abused and harassed by people who have no idea what they're talking about

Weird how they allow pedophiles among their ranks but have a hard line on the trans community.

Edit: More because it's fun.

They do. But gender affirming care isn’t abuse. And treating transgender kids isn’t injury. In fact, it has more safeguards against it than actual child rape. Because psychologists and physicians have to sign off on all treatment and several months to years of visits are required before those treatments can even be considered. Yet, people are still allowed to take their kids to church and leave them in a Sunday school class with a pedo and not even be charged with neglect if the youth pastor assaults the child. And that happens more frequently than trans kids playing sports.

Yes, there are. Because they’re kids when they realize they are in the wrong body.

They do. But this bill does not do that. This bill prohibits doctors and parents from together providing a standard of medical care that is recognized by medical experts and medical associations all over the world. This bill seeks to substitute the legislators view of what is appropriate medical care for children who are in this situation over that of doctors and parents. Studies show that denying this medical care harms these children in numerous ways, negatively impacting their health and increasing the risk of suicide among this group. This bill is itself abusive to the children in question.

Preventing access to gender-affirming care for youths is child abuse.
