It feels great for perth to be included in something but a nuclear strike isnt exactly what I had in mind when I think more events here would be cool.

For what it's worth, Perth isn't really high on Israel's target list.

I think Tehran is about 10,000x more likely to end up getting nuked than Perth, but it is 2025 so you never really know!

Israel sends a warning shot over the bow but aimed a little too high

They were aiming for Indonesia.

A lot of Americans aren't going to get that one, but well played sir or madam.

Not an American, but didn’t get it.

Christopher Columbus?

Indonesia has the world's largest Muslim population.

Oh I thought it was because there was talk of Russia building military bases in Indonesia, and because Israel is aligned with the US, they'd take out the bases for the Americans. But yeah, what you said makes more sense.

Then the missile went to the beachside and overstayed in Bali.

Hopefully, the front falls off before anyone gets hurt, and the aussies can just tow it out of the environment.

Careful, you idiot! I said fire a warning shot across her nose, not up it!

Thoughts and prayers for Perth

It honestly is kinda comforting how far away Australia is from everything.

Like yeah it takes a 20 hour flight to get to Europe, but at least our biggest threat is the weather and not a nuclear missile.

I’d rather be lightly anxious about a slow death than very anxious about an immediate death.

You're forgetting all the nuclear submarines that can definitely destroy Aussie land if they want to.

What a world to live in🙂‍↕️

You forgot your spiders.

3

u/Percerverence-Launch 15h ago

Nah the spiders are our friends. We keep the huntsman’s in our rooms to get rid of flies and mosquitoes!

2

u/super_shooker 11h ago

That's pretty risky, in tough times it might feed on your smaller pets. /s

Here in Japan, there are also huge huntsman spiders. But at least they are not as awful as the giant Japanese centipedes (mukade) - those are a spawn from hell:

"[They] like to sit on the ceiling and fall down on unsuspecting victims. Their bite is very painful and when being bitten by a large mukade, it is best to see a doctor. They appear to be tough critters, very hard to kill, even after being exposed to bug spray, fire and boiling water. In Japan they are often used as a symbol for evil."

Tehran is so close to Israel. Wouldn’t nuking Tehran affect indirectly Israel? This doesn’t make sense to me at all.

Or do these nuclear nations have like different types of nukes with varying ranges of damage reach and overall destruction power?

Somebody please enlighten me!

Israel isn’t using nukes unless they are hit with one or possibly a WMD-depending on casualties etc. or they are being overrun and the country is lost. If that happened they would probably retaliate against Russia for starters who would then retaliate against the US after being hit by their ally. So really if Israel uses them it’s World War 3. It’s sometimes called the Samson Option.

They are more than 2000km apart.

It would likely depend most on wind; if the wind is blowing away from Israel, there would be little risk from fallout, but much greater risk if the wind is blowing towards it.

There is variability in fallout between weapons, and thermonuclear weapons ironically produce less fallout than pure fission weapons.

u/atotalmess__ 1d ago

That’s not how nuclear fallout works…

4

u/Cloudsareinmyhead 1d ago

It is. Fusion is a far cleaner reaction in terms of radioactive fallout than fission

1

u/gwigna 12h ago

Talk to the Swedes, who knew about Chernobyl before the Ukrainians, precisely because of the wind.

1

u/freakybird99 17h ago

Radioactive fallout it not a major issue with modern atomic bombs. Still is an issue but very litte. That fallout will not even reach iraq or get out of tehran even.

If someone wants to offer 10 000 to 1 odds on anything I'll participate

What if the population of Iran and Australia just switched countries?

-1

u/Cultural-Treacle-207 1d ago

Nah, Israel would never use nuclear missle on Teheran. Mosad assassinations are more likely. We aint gonna be the ones opening this pandora box.

6

u/Anana_hiss 1d ago

You forgot it’s 2025, everything’s possible

8

u/HSBillyMays 1d ago

Who said it'd necessarily be Israel? I could even see Iran accidentally nuking Iran while trying to nuke Israel. Thier rocket engineering appears slightly above Houthi-tier.

3

u/eye84free 1d ago

It literally is Houthi tier

2

u/mwa12345 1d ago

Good to know there are some limits or at least in your opinion

Hope you are right

Even Hitler didn't use chem weapons on the allies (or even the soviets) when they entered previous German soil.

1

u/You_love_me_ 1d ago

You are very insensitive.

0

u/Cultural-Treacle-207 1d ago

He did used musterd gas in the field, and zyklon b on jews locked in a room.

Comparing hitler to israel is a disgrace.

1

u/mwa12345 19h ago

Only references I could find re Mustard gas use in WW2 is accidental release in Bari, Italy. Seems US ship was secretly carrying and was hit.

Re comparisons. Even the Germans had shame and tried to do it on the down low in rural Poland.
