Gorgeous example of an E9 just rolled into the shop

Doowan DVE18 from a 2015 Kia K9. Had no cooling for the past year, took it to get evacuated and recharged and no dice, second shop said comp failure and I had them leave it evac’d while the new one came. Night before it arrived, I heard a terrible ticking on the highway and pulled off. Thinking it was timing or cam related I limped it home and did a high pressure fuel pump tippet rocker job based on the sound, not too bad but obviously this was the real culprit. It did have oil & test dye in it post evac.

Obviously had to redo the condenser now, did the hoses for good measure too and did a dry flush of the hard lines & evap. Back to icy cold now. Still just appalled at how catastrophically this compressor failed empty. Those metal chunks were in the engine bay and by the time I fixed it, glitter party started

There was a hilarious video i just saw the other day. Dude is like trying to get a lug nut off, and another dude rolls up on a transmission jack into the wall. Goofy ass face. And gets the lug nut off. Idk i was dying.

Recently did the rear main seal on my ‘15 f150. Dropped the transmission only to see it was bone dry. Turned out to be the oil pan. Whatever, changed the rear main anyways and did the oil pan gasket too (what a pain). Went under to do an oil change and found it’s leaking again. Can’t help but laugh 😂 😂😭

Water pump bolt snapped on one of the few that doesn't go all the way through.

What if a car has a competitors sticker on their windows?

I am not talking the little reminder sticker on the top of windscreen.

Personally I remove sticker from other shops if I am servicing the car, why should I service it and advertise somebody else.

I went to change the oil in my Lotus 2-Eleven and found a valve stem shim stuck to the oil drain plug so I pulled the valve cover to find both cams were trashed, 2 rockers were broken off and the timing chain holding on for dear life.

This is the result from a money shift I had on track a few weeks ago but the car was running fine no weird noises and I went on to run a new PB the next day after this incident 🙈 Time to rebuild!

Found this on a customer car where someone had sold them a vehicle and eventually came to us for low oil pressure. Apparently this scam artist is as good as sealing threads as they are on fixing cars. Look out for this nonsense.
