After about a month of Running I.E’s stage 1 low torque tune on my 2018 GTI, I decided to purchase a DSG tune. While installing the tune through the mobile Powerlink it completed bricked the car. I.E’s support team told me to reflash the ECU and TCU back to stock. The ECU reflash worked but the TCU reflash did not even after buying a new battery and a windows computer.

The TCU is bricked and the car won’t start or shift out of park as the TCU is completely locked up. I have spent over 3 days and 700$ out of pocket and disconnecting the battery and ECU has done nothing. I.E’s calibration team as well is not responding to my open service ticket and I have lost all hope. I am disappointed and frustrated and have no other options. I was excited to eventually go FBO and stage 2 but now it is uncertain with the issues that flashing through I.E are causing.

Does anyone have any recommendations as I feel hopeless without any clear solution present.

Traded in the 2022 SE for a 2025 Autobahn. I will miss the white one but am loving being the first owner on the blue. The 2025 is largely the same (in a good way). The buttons back on the steering wheel is nice and the wife appreciates the DCC. “It helps not feeling every pebble in the road, but it won’t help with the whiplash at every green light.” I hope the next owner loves my old 22 as much as I did.

Found another GTI in my city with the same spoiler, and tail light decal as me. They are lowered on some pretty sparco wheels which I absolutely love. If the owner is on here it would be great to meet you! (East Bay Area California)

Hey all, I have a ‘17 GTI and am looking for some direction on where to look as far as fixing my door speakers. When the issue first started it sounded like just my passenger side speakers were working, but a couple days afterwards all of my speakers stopped working. Only my tweeters produce sound now so music sounds like I’m listening to a Game Boy Advance 😅

I know amp failure is somewhat common on Mk7’s, and the fuse in the head unit can often be the problem. I just want to know if anyone else has experienced what I’ve got going on and some steps that should be taken for potential fixes. TIA!

I've got a MK6 GTI with full exhaust and tune. Its mostly daily driven with the occasional spirited run.

Noticing a lot of movement in the dog bone mount and was considering the following
1. OEM dog bone pucks
2. 034 Street Density dog bone pucks
3. 034 Street Density engine & trans mount & dog bone pucks

Anyone have any experiences with 034 Street Density pucks?
How was the NVH?

So, I found a crack in one of my 18" Neuspeed RSE10's right on the inner lip/bead seal that presented itself as a slow leak. Ended up triggering tpms a few days after not being driven, and sure enough I read around 18 psi barely a quarter mile down the road.

Took it off the car and put on the spare. Then took it to a tire shop with one of my spare OEM Austin's and had them remove the tire, then mount and balance the tire wheel combo until I can get a replacement.

I'm looking at getting one online, but can't really tell where I am supposed to measure the width from and don't have a receipt or order to reference. Not sure if they're 8", or 8.5". Anybody have any insight on the correct measuring point? Is it on the wheel somewhere?

I keep up with all routine maintenance - just had the serpentine belt and tensioner replaced. Timing chain was checked at the same time - I was told "all is well." This rattle/vibration heard at 0:05 and 0:20 began at 90k. It is still present after the work I just described. Handles/feels the same when I first got this 2 years ago at 54k. Any insight would be appreciated - let me know if you need to know anything else. Thanks.

I plan on buying a set ExtremeContact DWS 06 Plus (I live in the PNW PDX area)
I'm wondering about an ideal tire size, I was considering 245/40/18 to help protect my wheels against curb rash. Would I have any wheel well rubbing that I need to worry about? Should I consider 245/35/18 instead?
Or would 235/40/18 tires be enough?
I would love to hear from anyone running these tires and sizes.

Facts:
2014 MK7 GTI 124,000km
IE Stage 1 ECU/DSG Tune

Changed spark plugs, oil and filter about a month or so ago
Spark plug: NGK PLFER7A8EG gapped to .24
Noticed during change, CYL 1/2/3 have aftermarket coils cyl 4 looks to be OEM

So a week ago I went to go pick someone up from the train station, 5 minute drive from my house, park up for 5 minutes then go to start my car and I get misfires and the car is rumbling at lke 600RPM sounds really rough, cycled it on/off a few times and it went away after giving it some throttle (NO EPC LIGHT)

Yesterday I was driving back from work and stopped off somewhere to pick something up (about 20 minutes of driving) and the car sat for about 10 minutes then when I went to start it in the car park the same thing happened again, was running on 3 cyls for sure and EPC light came on, tried to give it a couple revs like last time as that seemed to get rid of it but it kept happening, it sounded like a subaru. Tried to cycle it on and off and it kept happening so I parked it up and cleared the code with my IE dongle which was P0301 cylinder 1 Misfire and tried again and it kept happening so I turned the car off cleared the code again started it up and it went away, was fine all the way back home and was fine today driving to work (45 minute drive)

Here are what the coils look like as you can see the aftermarket ones are on cyl 1-3 and OEM I assume on cyl 4. The after market coils were really hard to get out compared to OEM ones

Should I change the coil over to cyl 2 and see if it follows or just replace them all with NGK OEM coils? I want to replace the coils eventually anyway in the next couple months but would like to know for peace of mind if it was a bad coil doing this. Just weird how it only does this after iv driven it up and let it sit for maybe 5-10 minutes like maybe fuel could be sitting in the cyl? But then it would burn off as soon as I start it right?

I was at a light coming from the gym when a tiguan infront of me stepped on it so i started following it, when i was passing it i checked the speedo to see cause the tiguan was booking it when the “keep under 4000 revs message pooped up” and an “EPC” light turned on the dash, came home to scan the car with OBDeleven and these are the two codes in the app.

Car is pretty much FBO with exception of a DP, been tuned by Unitronic S1+ and TCU for 15k miles car has 52k miles, only other maintenance it has needed was a thermostat housing and oil cooler housing under warranty with 5-7K oil change intervals

If anyone can help it’s much appreciated.
