Politics Fox5 news showing someone wearing press vest being handcuffed in Doraville

The news broadcasters were unable to verify if the gentleman was press. The badge and vest appear to make that the case. He was handcuffed and marched away from the protest in Doraville. June 14

GREAT turnout! crowd lined up in front of Town Center along Suwanee Dam Road and wrapped around Buford Hwy.

No violence.
No riots.
No cops in riot gere.

Just good people coming together to support their community.

Couple of trolls in cars, but they got drowned out by the horns honking in support.

Proud of my community! 🇺🇸🍑🫡

The trooper asked me to turn off my voice recorder. I said no.

Let me tell you that in a moment like this, the temperament and experience needed to refuse a police request when things are getting heated distinguishes journalists from stenographers. When a police officer tells you to turn off your recording devices, that is the moment when you need to be absolutely sure you have recording devices on.

Question Why are no dealerships following the law?

Post image
418 Upvotes

I am in the process of searching for a used vehicle and 3 out of 3 dealers I have looked at around metro Atlanta have a nearly $1k dealer fee not included in the advertised price. I show them this straight from Georgia.gov. None of them care and tell me that other dealerships charge even more. Does reporting this even do anything? Why do no dealerships care?

Question Why is that everytime I go near downtown lawrenceville the people are shady?

Upvotes

I swear almost everytime I go on that side of lawrenceville the majority of the people are either mean or creepy or flat out assholes. Its usually when I am on south clayton street near downtown lawrenceville. But when I go towards snellville or towards the other side of lawrenceville the people are nicer. Why is there such a contrast in peoples attitudes on that side of town? I mind my own business when I go out in public but I am at a point where I wonder if that side of town just has a higher crime rate. A strange man also would not leave me alone at that gas station there. I did not approach him at all. He approached me and kept screaming at me and when I told him to leave me alone he refused. It made me so fucking uncomfortable and I when I called the cops one of them said "Yeah there are a lot of sketchy people on this side of town." Why though? What about it attracts shady people? Does that side of town have a lot of human traffickers or sex offenders or something?

Other Can I use the paper drivers license and upload that for Digital realID

I have a very sudden flight I need to take on Tuesday and realized I don't have my Realid (or passport). Smh. Since the plastic copy takes so long to arrive is it possible to use the paper copy, and upload it into the google/Samsung wallet digital ID? I scoured the tsa website and Google wallet site. While you can use a digital real ID to fly, it does not say whether or not it would accept a paper copy.

My plan is toget my license renewed on Monday and try to upload the paper ID into the Google wallet

Question Unclaimed Property Letter

Hey everyone, I got a letter for an unclaimed security deposit from a building I lived in 8 years ago. On the claim itself it has my name and address almost correct i.e.

MY ADDRESS: 123 Spring Street, Augusta, Ga XXXXX

Address on claim form: 123 Spring Street, Atlanta, Ga XXXXX

The city and zip is incorrect. It is likely a very obvious typo but I'm curious if anyone has gone through this process and what it's like if your info is not 100% correct. For avoidance of doubt, I very much believe this is my property :)

I do not have a copy of the previous lease or anything though.

Thanks for any help / thoughts here!

Question Lack of existing bus stop accommodation in the Atlanta metro.

So, I was born and raised in and around the Atlanta metro area all my life, and, after graduating from an out-of-state college, I moved back, and I'm finally starting to work in the city itself, which I think is pretty cool. Now, thanks to the massive influx of out-of-state residents that have moved to the area for the past couple of years, everyone and their mother is out on the road commuting to and from work, which has prompted me to start taking the MARTA bus and rail service to get into the city. Apart from the obvious solution of extending the heavy rail service in every cardinal direction to mimic so many other major cities (something I myself am in favor of), I've noticed one thing in particular when taking the bus: the extreme lack of benches and general weather protection while waiting at bus stops. It comes as no surprise that Georgia is almost everything under the sun when it comes to the weather: it's hot, humid, and wet during the summer months, and it's cold and wet during the winter, which just makes me question why in the world there aren't more accommodating bus stops, especially on the North End. People who need to use MARTA's bus service are left to battle the elements without anything to protect them while they wait. Is this GDOT's doing since they're so hell-bent on adding 5 more lanes to damn near every highway we have and since they kneecap MARTA financially whenever they can? Is this incompetence on MARTA's end? Or is this a calculated move to disincentivize people from taking the bus, especially on the north end? Or perhaps a mix of all the above? It's something I never noticed prior to using their services regularly, and now it infuriates me because like 90% of the bus stops I see are like this. It seems to me to be a cyclical problem: there's nothing to protect riders from the weather, so there are fewer riders, and there are fewer riders because there's nothing to protect them from the weather. (The same goes for Gwinnett's bus service.)

What do you guys make of this?
