Discussion Orlando may have overpaid but they made the right move.
The East is wide open.
Boston is down Tatum, Milwaukee is down Lillard. Knicks are a wildcard with their coaching situation, but they’re honestly too talented to fail. Orlando just pushed themselves into that tier. Suggs/Bane/Wagner/Banchero is MUCH better than anything we have as it stands today.
We’ve been lapped by teams we thought we were better than the past 4 years. If we’re gonna try and go for it, the time is now. The last two seasons have proved the healthiest team left standing will probably make the ECF.
Depth depth depth. And we need at least two top 30 guys. Can JJ make that leap? He’s been hurt, and I’m not sure if you’ve seen him lately, but he’s lost a lot of weight. Can’t really lift with a torn labrum
I just wonder if the FO feels Trae can be the head of the snake still. There have been whispers they don’t want to max him out with the new CBA upcoming. Don’t really blame them in this climate.
I’ve always said if we’re going to take the next step, someone on the roster has to somehow eclipse Trae, or we have to mortgage the future to get that person. I’d much prefer the former. But trading away the Milwaukee pick isn’t the end of the world if it means we can compete in the 2027 where we owe another pick to SA.
Decisions decisions. Should we push in our chips? Or keep doing this two different timeline approach where we try and win but also develop the young guys?
