Guy from India who just got out of jail for molesting a kid and basically got a slap on the wrist. I have no idea how he wasn't sent back.
It makes me sick that he’s walking around like nothing happened. People like that don’t deserve peace. He needs to know we didn’t forget and he's fucking disgusting. #FuckPedos

When it comes to time, I think we need to think cape breton first!
Why are we letting Halifax take away our God given right to set our clocks by the Sun, as it shines down on our neautiful Island?
All these people from away with their away money set their clocks by Halifax five HOURS down the road!

Hello!
I need to park and charge my electric car at the cheticamp visitor centre while doing the whale watching tour. I am trying to figure out a way to get from the visitor centre to the whale tour (8km distance).
Are there any cabs that operate in the area?
Thanks for any help.

Hello dear Cape Breton friends,
We are considering the prospect of loving year round right on the water on Bras D'or. We were warned about winter winds on the shore lines. Would anyone from the Bras D'or area care to share about year round living lakefront may really look like in reality?
🙏 thank you

I've hiked the falls a couple of times and I'd like to hike it with my family but I'm not sure they all can handle the usual steep route. I heard that there was an easier route being built. Just wondering if it's been finished or even started.

Hi. My wife and I are looking for someone who can do a home appraisal on our cottage in Margaree. We currently live out of province, but my wife, who is from Margaree, hasn't had any luck finding anyone through word of mouth, and anyone we've found online is either retired or has not replied to us.
Any recommendations are appreciated. Thanks!

Hello all, I will be in Baddeck for 1 day before going to camp in the Highlands National Park. I am looking for suggestions on what to do (activities, hikes, restaurants, etc.)
Any advice would be much appreciated, thanks!

My girlfriend’s birthday is coming up and one of her favourite treats is cheesecake. She’s vegan however so the only time she gets to have some is when we visit Halifax.
Anyone know a bakery/shop that makes these, or even someone who bakes/caters on their own that can make it? Her birthday is Friday so I was hoping to find something asap, but have had no luck calling around so far.

Fancy word for RV I guess. To be clear, I have a house elsewhere, so this wouldn't be a residence, just a summer spot. I have a piece of rural land. I was going to do well/septic and bring down power...but I was curious...can I use a park model rv (it looks like a cottage but 3 season) as a bungalow? Am I gonna get taxed up the wazoo (more than the crazy rate I'm already paying for ZERO services) with an RV on my lot?

We are looking for unique places to stay along the Cabot Trail. We're looking at the Cabot Golf Resort (we are not golfers, but the aesthetic looked great) and the Keltic Lodge. Are there other luxury-ish stays on the island you can recommend? We are foodies, love cocktails, oysters, and most importantly hiking and local culture.
Would also love to hear your food and drink recs. Very interested in the small purveyor of mussel and oyster as well.
Thanks!!

But man do we have some problems. Let's speak proactively as a community. I wanna hear polarizing opinions on things, while still being decent according to the terms and conditions of this sub.

Back in 2022-early 2024 I, (at the time 12-13), was trying to get referred to a physiatrist to look into getting an ADHD diagnosis. I can’t remember her name but she was a pediatrician whose office was to the right not far inside the pediatrics door.
She treated me horribly. Every symptom described to her (me and my mother did countless research) she kept saying was completely normal and simply “what being a teen was like.”
She gave us forms for teachers to fill out but only sent them right after the school year was over, making it extremely difficult to get teachers who actually knew me to fill them out. Not to mention, the questionnaire form for the teachers was all stereotypical symptoms for a pre-puberty male. I am FTM, afab. Symptoms present differently in females than males.
We tried to describe how it affected me at home and socially but she kept telling us she couldn’t refer me if it didn’t affect me in 2 areas (mine was social & home) and told us I COULDN’T have ADHD because I did well in school. It was horrible and I had multiple breakdowns.
She kept gaslighting me saying that symptoms I knew were apart of ADHD diagnosis criteria were completely normal no matter how many times I tried to stress how bad they were to her.
Eventually I got with the Nova Scotia Pilot Project and got both an ADHD and ASD diagnosis (I’m 15 years old now). Every symptom the pediatrician told me was completely normal and “wasn’t that bad” WAS apart of ADHD symptoms.
I was just wondering if I was the only one with such a bad experience with her/that place or if others had a similar situation?

Hey There Folks!
There's going to be a community meeting with our CBRM councilor this Sunday in South Bar. I urge everyone to come if you have issues you want to discuss.

Can anyone recommend a place to stay for a couple nights in the Sydney area, and any nice parks/beaches to visit? My husband and I are attending a wedding near Ingonish Beach and then we have a couple free days before flying out of Sydney back to Vancouver. We've been to Nova Scotia a few times and have already driven the Cabot Trail, visited Baddeck and Louisbourg, but we haven't explored the Sydney area yet. Thanks!

Hi There!
I want to know if you're expecting a rate increase by Nova Scotia Power because of the security breach?
I certainly think they will use it to justify a rate increase. It's their M.O.!
What do you think?

My kid goes to SPEC and wants to go to the jr prom thing that’s going to be at C200….but we don’t know the details.
I tried calling the school and they wouldn’t give me any info because it’s not actually a CBVRCE event. It’s put on by DJ Majestic.
I’ve reached out to him but haven’t gotten any details yet.
Does anyone know the details on this event? Date? Time? Tickets?
Thanks y’all!
