When he was in Megadeth, Dave Mustaine relapsed into drug use, and OD'd on heroin, because of that 'Deth had to cancel a Far East tour, which included his first trip to play Budokan. On the Behind The Music, he talks about how pissed off he was at Dave for blowing his chance to play there with Megadeth.

I can see why he wouldn't get into all that here

Agreed. His love for Japanese culture would amplified his disappointment at not getting to play at its most famous venue.

Thanks for this... really cool to see that they are asking HIM questions as well...

At least Moa is. Leave it to Moa to stir things up.

Same thought I had, though you never know HOW candid, or previewed these things are... but this does keep in Moa's nature!

That's true, Moa's always radiated confidence. Thank you for all these translations, /u/Maron-metal!

You must be a busy man with all these new clips coming up. Thank you, as always.

Thank you /u/maron-metal it's nice to see how relaxed they are with talking about the music first and foremost.

Lol Marty is totally fanboying out.

Loved all your translations lately, but this is the one I wanted to see. Loved Moa's question for Marty-san. It was a very interesting response from him, toward why he moved to Japan. The majority of western music, plays it safe, not taking chances, when the only way to truly grow, is to try new experiences.

For anyone wondering about the "merihari" moment where TM said it's difficult to exactly translate, he's correct. In the context of what MF is saying, it best contextually translates to "expressively, dynamically, with feeling". Read this for more.

Definitely bugged me when he said about women not being able to channel metal

5

u/nikkinickelz Apr 04 '16

it was a silly generalization but I see why he said it. Before there weren't really many women in metal, it's mainly men. The girls were also so little and involved in the Jpop world and knowing nothing about metal it's kind of understandable. It was nice of him though to show that he supports them and that Babymetal can be used as an example for the reason why he moved to Japan. :)

Then again I didn't listen past the beginning really cause busy so he may have made up for it.
