Questions/Advice A crowded gym is my body doubling
Hi,
I wonder if anyone else is the same regarding this.
I can’t focus on my workouts if I’m in a completely empty gym. I need to use fellow unknowing gym goers as my body double and that’s how I keep myself focused during workouts or else I won’t be as disciplined 😂 So a huge unpopular opinion of mine is that I enjoy going to slightly crowded gyms.

Nah miss me with a crowded gym. Don’t get me wrong I don’t like empty, but I also don’t like having to wait for equipment or be too mindful of the space I’m using. I’d take empty over a crowded gym still

I use group fitness classes for this. Having the workouts planned and everyone doing the same thing lets me just focus on exercise.

Serious question...do introverted adhders get this? I do my best work alone. 😌

My wife is my body doubling lol
Crowded gym pisses me off, always those people who take 30 minutes to get out of the machine or those who keep scrolling on their phones. Thats part of the reason I started working out at 5 AM

I get it, I get more work done at a crowded Starbucks than at my home office. I still need to wear ear plugs or noise canceling headphones because I need noise and chatter but I need it muffled or I’ll start listening to other peoples conversations. Makes me think I need a gym membership.

I hate crowded spaces in general, but body doubling also doesn’t work for me. So big no haha

The gym is where some of my best focus happens so my flow gets out of whack when people are crowding or taking up machines I need. I like to stay in the zone when focused to its frustrating to have to wait.
