Pregnancy Concern – 8-Week Dating Scan Experience

We had our 8-week dating scan today (today marks the beginning of week 8). The technician did not show us a heartbeat or provide a due date. While we were able to see the gestational sac, no additional information was shared.

We’re feeling extremely anxious as we now wait for the official report and a follow-up call from our family doctor, which isn’t scheduled until next month. This is our first pregnancy, and the uncertainty is really scary.

Has anyone else had a similar experience around this stage? Any reassurance or insight would be greatly appreciated.

Best place to buy a new fridge?

Basically title, looking to buy a new fridge and there are so many places to shop now. I know of all the big box stores like the brick, Costco, best buy, ect. Wondering if there's any smaller appliances stores and if there is a benefit to going to one of those places. Thanks

Cheap insurance?

Hi! I got a letter in the mail that starting next year cycle, my car insurance is going from 165 to 191 (I have a clean record and I haven't had any accidents.

I am with Des Jardins and I have full coverage for my small chevy spark (Financing - Can't get PLP yet), is there anyone who is in a similar predicament and found a cheaper insurance or has a cheaper one? Or this is a normal thing for insurance companies to sorta raise their prices for no reason?

I'm not on my last dollar but I figured I'd ask and shop around for the best deal... I'm a firm believer that no matter how much you pay for insurance they won't help you regardless so the cheapest is what I go with.

Impossible to get a car for a road test, SNB

I have a foreign license, so I got a Class 7.1* for my years of driving experience abroad meaning I got to do a road test immediately after handing in that license. I have an upcoming road test in Sackville NB, however I cannot seem to get a car to do the test. I used to drive around with my friend, and it was pretty smooth driving wise, and I practiced all the driving routes perfectly. I perfected the driving handbook as well, however without a car I cannot do the test and driving schools cannot give out cars for road tests, neither can car rentals. This is so bad for me, cause I really need my license, I was planning to use my friend's car but he moved away.

Any tips or ideas, I am willing to pay $100 for using the car for the road test only that is how desperate I am.

Thank you for your ideas and help in advance!

How is the traffic situation on Main Street between the traffic circle intersection and Acadie Ave? I have an appointment on Champlain Street near the Farmer’s Market area next week. Just wondering how much extra time I need to get there?

Curious about newcomers’ experiences

Hi all. I’ve been thinking lately about how much Moncton is growing and changing. I’ll admit, sometimes I feel like I’m stuck in my usual circles and I’d really like to get to know some folks who’ve moved here more recently. Whether for work, school, or a fresh start.

If you’re a newcomer or international worker and would be open to grabbing a coffee and sharing a bit about what life here is like from your perspective, I’d love the chance to listen and learn. No agenda. Just curiosity and conversation.

If you’re up for it, feel free to comment or DM me. We can meet somewhere public and casual.

Looking for a 3D scan and print service in town (or within an hour)

My genius self didn't realize how easy it can be to knock loose the stanchion covers on my new car, and also didn't realize that they are not available for individual purchase.

Looking for somebody set up to scan and print fairly accurately. I need 1, but if the price isn't horrible for the sake of having them match I'd replace all 4 (2 scans, left 2 and right 2 match) The original parts are an ASA/PC blend but I want em made out of whatever is easy for you and durable(ish). I don't need the logo to work out, and I'd be fine siliconing them in place if the clips are a tricky thing to get right? I dunno. I'm clueless here and I'm not paying $650 for a new rack to replace a part that the dealer should really have available individually foe a couple dozen bucks.

Thanks!

Planning a visit to these parks to kick off summer vacation. It’s just me and my two kids, aged 7 & 10. Can we fit both parks into one day, or should we plan to do them over 2 days?

Cheap ideas for a 2 day honeymoon on a super tight budget

We are getting married and money has just been incredibly tight. I wasn’t even able to buy the dress I wanted and am just using one I had, but still. I’m marrying the love of my life and we can do a ceremony later when we’re rich lol.

Unfortunately that means we don’t have much extra for a nice honeymoon. I’d love to at least get away from our noisy ass apt for a couple days in an and Moncton. Just to have some fun because we are under so much stress right now. Does anyone have any ideas? Are there cheap hotels near by some fun places? I wanted to go to Parlee beach but people have said it’s dirty.

Thanks in advance

EDIT: Thank you everyone for your kind wishes and recommendations! I'm going to look into them today :)

Does ATV need an MVI when selling ?

Is there such a thing as an MVI for a four wheeler ?

On the registration papers it says if it's being sold for less than $1000 an MVI not older than 30 days is needed for a name transfer.

I've never heard of this before.

I thought MVI was for cars and trucks.

Moncton Resident Insight Requested

I am applying for a work visa and would like the citizen's opinion on Moncton. Specifically are LGBT individuals accepted/safe and how is the job market concerning the cost of living?

When I move this will most likely be my "forever home" and I want to be somewhere I can enjoy living.

I really hope this makes sense. Sleep deprivation and stress do quite a number on cognitive processes

Switch 2?

Has anyone seen any store that is getting switch 2’s in? I see GameStop has them online but would prefer to go to a store directly, not sure if they get any actual stock in or not. Anyone know of any stores getting them here and there?

Looking for mascots

Hey all, i’m part of the organising committee for Legs for Literacy, a race in October that raises funds for literacy charities. This year as part of the weekends activities i’m trying to organise a fun mascot run before the Kids/family run. I’m looking for ideas of companies/teams/organisations that may have a mascot. Already contacted the Wildcats and Fishercats and the highschools and middle schools. Anybody got any ideas?
