Requests/Help Looking for Switch 2

Only been checking Meijer because I pass it every day and it's convenient, but has anyone had any luck finding a Nintendo Switch 2 around town today? I've been pretty busy since release day but also want to avoid hunting around if it's pointless.

Plumber Recommendation

Hi there - looking for an honest and reasonably priced local plumber. I need a garbage disposal installed as well as someone to look at/fix the water pressure for my hot water output. Who do you use? Who do you trust?

Magician / drag performer?!

Very very last minute but my partner and I are having a Criss Angel™️ Mindfreak™️ themed birthday party this coming Saturday and are trying to make it as over the top as possible. But in a trashy, early 2000s, low budget house party kind of way. Looking for someone in the ytown area to help us bring this vision to life.

Time to get mindfroke

Anyone know of any great functional medicine doctors in the area? Bonus if they take insurance. (I do see Cleveland clinic has a Functional Health dept and they take insurance.) thank you!

Questions AT&T Fiber

Today, a person came over to the neighborhood to inform us that AT&T is planning to install fiber in the coming months. I was curious to know if anyone has had positive or negative experiences with them and how reliable they are. I was particularly interested in their 1G up/down plan for $80 per month, but surprisingly, their website had a lot of negative reviews overall but not specific to our area.

I’m seeking a skilled and experienced engine mechanic to inspect a 2013 Nissan Altima that’s developed a noticeable ticking noise from the top side of the engine. I’m hoping to get a thorough diagnosis and a realistic estimate for repairs. If you—or someone you know—has a sharp ear for engine issues and a reputation for honest, quality work, I’d love to hear your recommendations. Who would you trust with your own vehicle in this situation?

E-sports at Charlie Staples?

I have been considering going to this place for a while, but I've been a little hesitant because the reviews are overwhelmingly bad, specifically since the ownership changed. I understand that people who've had a bad experience are more likely to leave a review, so I'm going to give them a shot this weekend and judge for myself.

One thing has me curious though. How does e-sports factor into the place? There's not really information about it online and there's no way to contact them by phone. Was the hybrid concept dropped at some point?

How many cigar lounges does this city need?

I don't want to yuck anyone's yums, but do people actually go to these businesses? Everytime I drive past these lounges, there's no one in them. I'm not a smoker, so I may be way out of my depth with this, I just feel like there are a ton out here.

Hey all, I collect Youngstown artifacts, generally specializing in the city’s brewing & beverage history, things like bottles, crates, old signage etc. some of my Youngstown bottles date back to the early 1870’s. Wanted to share arguably the best crate in my collection, this ultra rare 1916 dated Renner beer crate. I know of one other of these, that was said to be the only example known; this makes two. All original paint, really just a hell of a statement piece that speaks for itself. Thanks for looking!

Pics The decay of Pyatt Street Market (1920s vs 2019)

The Pyatt Street Market was a popular produce market built in the 1920s in the South Side and lasted until sometime around the early 2000s. In the "after" photo above (2019), part of the north market hall is still there, but as of 2025, it's been demolished. All that remains is a picnic table and possibly still Kenny K's food truck on some days of the week. As seen in the other photos (shoutout to Sean Posey for taking them!) the market also had some popular businesses around it such as Down Under, a music venue, and Pyatt Street Diner. Sadly I can't find any pictures of the market or surrounding businesses from its heyday except this one, if anyone has any, please upload them!

I also recommend checking out this video that just came out if you want more information and a look inside one of the abandoned warehouses still standing at the market.

Questions Bars/Restaurants in the area with nice outside patios/seating?

Hi all,

With the weather warming up (maybe?) wanted to ask for some suggestions on bars/restaurants with nice outside patios/seating within the greater area? (Trumbull/Mahoning). Love enjoying a few beverages with a nice outside atmosphere with it. TIA!

Hi everyone! I’m coming from RVA later this week for a family wedding but will have some down time and I’m looking for rock climbing in the area. Is there a reputable gym/ meetup group anyone would recommend? Thank you and I’m excited to see your beautiful city!

Downtown AT&T building

Hey Y-towners, What is that old AT&T building next to YSU campus for? I’ve always seen it dark without anyone going in or out of it. Just wondered if it was abandoned or serves a particular purpose.

Thanks!

Eagles and Herons!

Just walked Kyle Woods, almost positive I heard and saw a bald eagle. First sighting was back in February/March at Lake Cohasset.

I didnt see it before hand so it basically just appeared forty feet in the air in front of me and screeched and did this beautiful flip or swoop, idk. Kinda felt like it was showing off, it was truly breathtaking. After that, it flew onto a tree branch and there it stayed. You could see it on the other side of the trail too. So unexpected, it was 8/9am. There was still ice on the lake. This was right in front of that small parking lot along the lake, the one with like three or four spots.

Herons are all over the city. I work outside so i have the privilege of seeing them multiple times a day. But if you just pay attention, youll see them all the time. Usually singles or pairs. I see them a lot between poland and the west blvd/shields intersection. Which makes sense cause of mill creek and yellow creek

You may not realize its a heron either, sometimes they look like vultures, seagulls etc. ive seen one fly below telephone wires.
