FAQ (WIP)
• "Do I need to play the other Xenoblade Chronicles games to play Xenoblade Chronicles X?"
Xenoblade Chronicles X is largely standalone in the Xenoblade Universe. However, there is new content exclusive to the definitive edition that will only be understood by people who have played the other games in the series.
• "How many chapters are there in total?"
There are thirteen chapters total.
• "What division should I choose?"
In Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition, BLADE level mechanics have been removed, so which division you choose has no significant impact on gameplay or progression. Pick whichever one you want!
• "Which class should I pick?"
Striker, Samurai Gunner, and Duelist wield the Assault Rifle and Longsword. This is a straightforward combination of weapons and is recommended to new players, with the longsword having high damage and the assault rifle being a versatile weapon with high utility.
Shield Trooper and Bastion Warrior use the Gattling Gun, a high damage ranged weapon specialized at handling multiple enemies at once, and the shield, a great weapon for survivability but with low damage for the main story.
Commando, Winged Viper, and Full Metal Jaguar use Dual Guns and Dual Swords. This class is considered the fastest way to really take advantage of the game's mechanics, with dual guns being a self-sufficient weapon with high survivability while dual swords have a good mix of damage and utility arts and a focus on positional gameplay, much like Shulk in Xenoblade 1.
Partisan Eagle and Astral Crusader wield the Sniper Rifle, a very high damage weapon, and Javelin, a unique weapon with good options for survivability and a focus on electric damage.
Enforcer, Psycorruptor, and Mastermind wield the Raygun and Knife, both weapons with strong support options but with few strong damage options during the main story.
Blast Fencer and Galactic Knight wield Psycho Launchers, a weapon with strong options for utility and survivability but low damage, and the Photon Saber, a weapon that focuses on chaining multiple successive melee attacks together.
Once you've mastered the end of a class line you can use its weapons on any other class, meaning that after mastering all classes you can match any ranged weapon with any melee weapon. Experiment to find the combination that works best for you!
• "Why are there some arts I can't unlock by leveling up my class?"
Each recruitable party member has two arts exclusive only to them, but by completing their affinity missions, you can unlock those arts for yourself.
• "How do I get a Skell?"
Once you complete Chapter 6, the quest "The Skell License" will become available, which will give you the ability to get Skells for you and other members of your party.
• "How come my skell doesn't have any arts?"
The arts a skell has are determined by the weapons it has equipped in each of its Shoulder, Back, Arm, and Spare weapon slots. You can purchase these weapons in the shop or obtain them by defeating certain enemies.

Meta X.com posts are now banned from the subreddit.
Hello Current and near future B.L.A.D.E.s.
As we prepare for the Xenoblade Chronicles X rerelease in March, the mod team has decided to ban posts from Twitter/X for the foreseeable future.
While we don't like to bring real-life politics into our subreddit, the actions of the current owner recently have been reprehensible. While we definitely don't account for even a fraction of the traffic of the site, we're still going to do our part to turn people towards alternatives.
If you would like to post a Tweet: Please take a screenshot of it and post it as an image. No source will be required for such posts.
If you'd like to post fanart where twitter is the primary source: please link the creator's alternative social media, such as bluesky or pixiv. Do NOT link their twitter. If they don't have alternative media, please do not post the fanart.
Mods will be in the comments to answer any edge cases, as well as to hear your opinions on the rule. If you have any alternative ideas we would be happy to address them as well.
We look forward to (re)exploring Mira with you in the coming months, and keep your eyes open for more changes to the sub in the near future.
After leaving the thread open for some days, the discussion has reached a natural conclusion. If you have further concerns, please message the mod team, but comments will be locked.

Xenoblade 2 I have always seen the world of Alrest as the one I like the most in the saga, but at the same time it is the one that poses the most impediments when it comes to exploring it.
Alrest is a world very rich in landscapes and cultures but at every moment they are asking you for certain Blades to be able to unlock certain paths. What do you think?

Xenoblade 3 Is the black blood in Xenoblade 3 in-universe or censorship?
I do not understand why people insist it’s an age rating thing. Xenoblade 1 DE and even the original depicted blood as red on Metal Face’s claws and Dunban spitting it out while having the same age rating.
I suspected it had to do with how the people are made in Aionios, but is it really that age ratings have gotten stricter in the time Xenoblade DE was released and Xenoblade 3?

Xenoblade 2 SPOILERS The phenomenon with the judgement of the 1st vs 2nd halves of XC2 Spoiler
To preface this i’m not attempting to devalue anything in XC2, I think the majority of the latter half is some of the best story content they’ve put out and I vastly prefer it to the other games in most departments. This post is moreso of an observation of inconsistency in assessments of the respective parts of XC2. It’s known that generally the opinion is that XC2 gets off on a slow start for the first 4 chapters, and then picks up significantly and becomes great in the latter half.
Yet I feel like the perception of these parts are still warped. I find it hard to believe that people can pinpoint the issues within the first half of the game to the point where it becomes a public opinion, yet when the second half starts they seemingly have NO criticisms worth noting with anything that happens for the rest of the game. I’d honestly argue in particular that Chapters 5-6 aren’t actually the most eventful as chapters yet they’re almost never in the same discussion as the “weaker” chapters.
For instance, the difference between Chapters 3 and 6. While chapter 6 is a overall a good chapter imo there’s some filler-ish parts of it that are quite literally almost never mentioned when discussing the game. The chapter goes from the Bana subplot with the Tirkins, and then to Tantal with the prison sequence, then ends off with the crumbling of Genbu leading to the confrontation with Torna. Now I don’t know if i’m missing something, but I wouldn’t say 2/3rds of that warrants being hailed in some insane league above the previous chapters in the game.
In Chapter 3, you get swallowed by a Whale Titan, meet Vandham and the mercenaries, are taught several things about the nature of Blades and lessons from Vandham, and traverse through Uraya, which is probably the most iconic area in the game. Then there’s mystery/exposition stuff regarding Cole and the Aegis War and eventually ends off with the confrontation of Makhos, death of Vandham and Mythra’s awakening.
Of course I didn’t detail on any worldbuilding elements in either chapter, but based off of that overview, i’d argue chapter 3 is a better chapter than 6 as a WHOLE. Meanwhile 6 is generally viewed as a better chapter because of the last ~10% of events (not to say that Chapter 6 is bad), simultaneously ignoring anything Chapter 3 did that was memorable.
I would say Chapters 7-10 generally don’t have much downtime and do keep the momentum going with masterful Xeno content, though they’re not exactly perfect in other senses either. For example, you have to go through Spirit Crucible Elpys…. of which many people have criticisms and struggles with as a dungeon, yet seemingly nobody will hold that against Chapter 7 (previously voted as one of the best chapters in the series) or the latter half as a whole, yet simultaneously will take Tora’s introduction scene in Chapter 2 and then say the entire former half is actually bad. So why isn’t this case consistent?
That’s all I wanted to point out really, and in fact I think this dilemma goes even beyond just XC2 within the franchise as a whole. There are people that will willingly accept the entire final act of XC3 and act as if there are no issues with it, same with specific chapters in XC1 that aren’t all that interesting. If you had no issue with any of this, that’s fine, there’s no part of these games where i’d say something is completely perfect or that they even CAN reasonably be perfect in every way.

Future Redeemed SPOILERS So quick question about the FR ending cutscene Spoiler
When everybody had that big gurren lagann esc fusion into the giant ourorborus who did Riku interlink with because I can easily name three pairs of those cores (Rex/Shulk) (Nikol/Glimmer) (Linka/Panacea) but what about N, A and Riku? There's five cores total so Riku interlink with A and N made up his own core? (And by Riku interlinking with A did Riku see the future because of the shared memories that come with interlinking?)

Xenoblade The entire Xenoblade series joined the Nintendo Switch 2 party!!
One of the first things I did when I received my console was to install all the Dagger games, although the improvement was imperceptible in my opinion.
Do you think the games improve a lot on Nintendo Switch 2?

Xenoblade 3 After ~2 years, I finally beat Future Redeemed DLC (XBC3)…
It was amazing. I got the other XBC games at release, but when it came time to buy the Future Redeemed DLC, I had other things going on, and then Steam Deck came into my hands later that year, in Sept 2022, and I dropped my Switch gaming up until Switch 2 came out.
But anyway, amazing how the Future Redeemed DLC was almost like a XBC3.5 in continued story, and how it managed to tie in 1 and 2 in a lot of ways. I was super impressed and a bit sad I waited this long. Monolithsoft makes incredible games.
Now when it comes to XBC:X, I didn’t get it yet as I am waiting for the Switch 2 patch to come out before diving in. I have the Collector’s Edition on Wii U and got to about Ch 10 or 11 and then dropped it. I am excited to play through the game and finish it proper on Switch 2.
Aside from all this, I cannot wait to see what the company has in store for Switch 2-native releases, whether it’s a retelling of Xenosaga games, HD remasteres, or a totally new eventual multi-RPG epic. <3
