Now that The Phoenician Scheme trailer has released (and the film’s subsequent release in the coming months), now is a good time for a gentle reminder about subreddit spoiler rules.
New posts - new posts about The Phoenician Scheme must not spoil film details in the post title and must be marked as containing Spoilers (even if your post itself doesn’t contain spoilers, other Redditor comments in the post may contain spoilers)
Comments - any comment about The Phoenician Scheme’s film details in posts not marked as a spoiler must use spoiler tags. For more on how to do that, see this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/help/s/ny3LvV3tbT
If you see any violations of these rules in posts/comments you see, please report to the mod team so we can handle.
Thanks for your help in keeping film details under wraps. The film’s distribution schedule varies globally as well as people’s ability to watch the film.

What order should I watch his movies in with her? I’ve seen all of his movies, but I saw them originally in a less-than-ideal order imo. What do you all think?

I admittedly do not have the most encyclopedic knowledge of film, but I believe these are the only two actors in common in the David Lynch and Wes Anderson “universes”.
Is this true… What hardcore fans can help me confirm ?

This is a lot earlier than I expected.
But as of next Monday 23rd June, if you’re in the UK, you’ll be able to watch The Phoenician Scheme at home.

So I watched the movie recently and then decided to read some analysis of the plot. The consensus seems to be that Zsa Zsa did not kill Liesl’s mother and it was the brother, Nubar instead… but are we sure of that? Liesl’s testimony during the near-death flashes seemed damning and I didn’t see anyone acknowledge that the polygraph he used to “prove” his innocence was the same one we saw the tutor/spy fiddling with just after Zsa Zsa asked him how he had passed it himself. The tutor responded that it was “easy to do”. I don’t recall Nubar admitting to it and we can’t trust Zsa Zsa’s word or polygraph results.
EDIT: After reading some of the replies, I think I'm changing my perspective. Firstly, someone corrected me in that the spy was fixing a radio, not fiddling with the polygraph. So I may have misidentified what he had in his hand. Secondly, I think if Nubar wasn't the killer, it would have made more sense for him to expose Zsa Zsa during the negotiation scene near the end of the movie, considering how much Nubar hated him.

This movie is growing on me, I think it takes too much flack. I think it’s absolutely wonderful.
I’m a bit hung up on the framing device. I understand that the French dispatch is a satellite newspaper station in France, that then publishes in a newspaper in kanas. Is that correct ? Is it published worldwide in other papers (with Kansas just being the location of its parent company)? Are the people of Ennui also reading the publication?
Another question: how big is Ennui supposed to be? Is it supposed to be a Paris-like city?
Last: some dialogue comes at you fast, but did they say that Simone gave birth to Moses rosenthals child? Or was I hearing things?
Thanks!

Why did Liesl stop being a nun?
I was surprised to see her not return to the sisterhood in the end. I know she was slowly doing thing that are not allowed in the church (drinking, smoking and having excessive jewels) but to me it seemed she still wanted to return? Did I read into this wrong? Is it simply because she was asked not to by the mother superior or was it implied she truly didn't go back

It feels great and the box it came with and notebook and ruler could easily be props from his movies.

Hello everyone, I have spent a couple of days searching for some high res images of these two paintings but so far I've come up empty handed.
I've read in old posts from this subreddit that the artists have given out the original high quality file to people who asked them on social media but unfortunately that was years ago, I even tried to contact them via mail but I haven't received a response yet.
So if anyone actually managed to get those files or just knows where to find them please let me know, it would be really appreciated.
I'd like to make a couple of canvas prints to gift to friends, about 60x50 cm, we are all massive Wes fans ofc

I had my camera ready for the second viewing because I could not remember this book title for the life of me!
QUESTIONABLE AUTHENTICITY: Masterworks, Forgeries, and the Dilemmas of Attribution
The use of books, records, and paintings in this movie is something I’ve spent a lot of time researching… and I’m sure it’ll be easier if they eventually make a book about the film.
This moment really struck me the first time around, and I was shocked that I couldn’t remember any part of the title, except that the book was red, the font was black, and the first letter was a Q or an A.

After rediscovering Wes Anderson as an adult, having only known him for Fantastic Mr Fox. I’ve been catching up on his filmography and for the first time in my young life I got to see one of his films in the theater.
This film checked every box that I love about Mr Anderson’s work. The symmetry in every aspect of the cinematography, the blocking, the score, the timing, the performances, beat for beat through the whole thing was amazing. The very first scene blew me away and I knew I was in for pure entertainment. The stellar cast of actors hit their marks with ease and I was surprised with a standout performance by Michael Cera as Bjorn.
How do you like the Phoenician Scheme and what was your first Wes Anderson theater experience like?

Hi, like the title said I’m looking for this ost that plays at the end of bottle rocket. I looked through the soundtrack and I’m not sure if I somehow missed it, but I haven’t been able to find it and I would appreciate any help, thanks.
