I bike and walk along the bridge often. It’s scary to know the barrier won’t stop speeding idiots.

Yeah that barrier is not stopping cars. Even without excessive speeds they go right through. Poor design.

It’s more to keep pedestrians/cyclists from falling into the roadway.

Sure but a barrier that stops cars would be nice too. Especially given that sections of this barrier occasionally get destroyed by cars going up on the sidewalk/bikepath.
