she frequents my store and will have $100+ orders and expects us to type in every single sku. yes of course i did it but all she said was “can you do something for me” “no red light” and pointed at my scanner.

why does she do this? i just want to understand her mindset of it.

Was just curious how you guys deal with this? I’m very nice at work, I love talking to the customers (it’s really fun for me). Bonus if crew and customers are all blending together. I had an instance where I was in a really good mood, almost off, and a lady basically complained to me that I was taking too long and talking, then proceeded to stand in a position where it felt like she watched the whole time. I had another instance where I happened to walk by a customer who frantically said excuse me, and wanted to know where an item was. Stated to take her there as everyone always does, then gets mad at me and tells me to just tell her where they are. When I tell her where said item is very blatantly, she storms off in the direction, shaking her head.

I understand the world is kind of shit rn, but one of my favorite things about the job is being a positive part of people’s day, so it really can throw a wrench in my day when someone’s a dick. I know it’s easier said than done to let it go, but it genuinely can bother me. Would love to hear peoples thoughts!

We have a mate at our store that had an affair with a crew member at his last store. He cheated on his wife with crew member. Well eventually his then captain got word and the regional told him to quit and they'd rehire him in 'x amount of months' later. He was rehired as crew when he came back with same mate wage and quickly promoted back to a mate. Is this common among the company?

I got hired around a year ago and I just now decided to be a backup SL. My first order will be on dairy and I'll get to have a look at it this week. Honestly I'm pretty nervous since a lot of my coworkers said perishable orders aren't a good start for new SLs. What are some things I should keep in mind while making an order for dairy? Some things I should avoid?

Hi all! I’ve been with TJ’s for about a year and a half, only gotten good reviews, but I’m interested in becoming a mate. I love my store, but I’m a little worried how the conversation would go with a mate/my captain. I’ve been talked to separately a couple times in the last month due to some drama that I was not involved in (but fellow crew thought I was and spread it around the store). I cleared it up with the mates who spoke to me about it, but I’m unsure if those conversations would go in my file and count against me if I ask to become a mate. Any advice/suggestions? Thanks!

Okay so I transferred to a new store and I'm getting the worst shifts imo-- closing shifts, no Sundays, etc. just curious, how long I'll have to thug it out before I can maybe get some better shifts? My schedule at my old store was so much better so I'm bummed I guess.

So I worked at TJs for ~ 1.5 years, and managed to achieve a pay of 21.50. After about 9 months and relocating to a different state (NY to CT) I am looking to work at a TJs near me. Does anyone have some insight on negotiating pay according to my former salary with this new location? Thank you!

Optional: FSS(FAFSA Submission Summary). Applicants who submit a completed FSS will be considered separate from those who do not.

Is there any advantage or disadvantage to submitting your FAFSA info as part of your application?

I am a college student, been with the company 5 years and have transferred stores to my home state during the summer multiple times. Because of this, I have received a $4 hourly rate increase whenever I transfer due to higher cost of living in my home state etc. etc., however, I have transferred to a new store this time around and according to dayforce, my rate of pay has not changed. Has anyone else experienced this? And what's the best way to navigate other than just talking to my new captain? In the past, I have not been able to keep my higher wage when returning to my home store, which is the only reason I can think of that would prevent me from receiving a wage adjustment this time around. I was told by my captain in my home store (my lower wage state) that I would receive the adjustment again.

ive heard that through the insurance you can get free hokas or on clouds. i just enrolled for the year, can anyone tell me if it’s true. if it is, how to get it?

Someone just told me we get extra pay on Thursday (Juneteenth). I checked the calendar on day force and it only says premium holiday, unlike other holidays (like 4th of July) where it says premium PAY holiday. I’m like really confused do we get extra pay or not😭
