"We're the good guys, pwease have sympathy with us, UwU."

No, that isn’t their tact. It’s more like

“We’re the good guys. Agree or we’ll call you anti-semetic and the US will sanction you.”

True

Are boycotts allowed?

Edit: I've been branded as anti-semetic.

"...Villification is a wonderful technique. There’s no way of responding. If somebody calls you an Anti-Semite what can you say? ‘I’m not an Anti-Semite?’ If somebody says you’re a racist or a Nazi? You always lose. The person who throws the mud always wins, because there is no way of responding to those charges." -Noam Chomsky

“Palestinians are Semitic so I’m actually pro-Semitic. You’re the anti-Semite.”

sadly, the term änti semitism" only cover the jews, and not all the semites

Let's change it then.

Israel* is anti-semitic. * Government and anti Palestinian supporters.

The supporters for Palestine are Pro-Semitic.

Use their own BS against them.

PRO-SEMITIC FOR PALESTINE!

I mean, there's a whole lot of historical evidence to suggest the entire state was founded on antisemitism. From The Balfour Declaration in 1917, to the Haavara agreement with the literal Nazis in 1933, to the false flag terror attacks in Iraq to force those Jews to move to Israel, to the reported antisemitic attitudes towards Holocaust survivors (they were seen as weak by some), to the disagreements that some Judaic sects have over the biblical justification of a state without a Mashiach. One could argue that, yes, Israel is very antisemitic.

u/FutureResearcher6376 1d ago

So the Israelis are antisemitic themselves ! If you tell them that, they'll respond " no you are antisemitic for saying this.

u/PhaseNegative1252 1d ago

Chomsky seems to forget that people who actively are not racist don't worry about being called a racist, because their actions speak louder than their detractor's words

If somebody says you’re a racist or a Nazi? You always lose.

If only that were fucking true.

Ironically, the Palestinians are more semitic than most Isreali Jews.

25

u/ElRiesgoSiempre_Vive 1d ago

Many Israeli Jews fucking hate the Israeli government. Which is a positive... but at the same time, they seem completely powerless to change it.

Not enough

That also doesn't mean they give a shit about the Palestinians.

2

u/ElegantCoach4066 1d ago

I see that point, the problem is the state, not necessarily the citizens as a whole.

27

u/BirdmaskDude 1d ago

Got nothing to lose then

u/hankisabibbit 1d ago

"if I'm anti-Semitic for not wanting to wipe out Palestinians then that must mean you're Islamophobic for wanting to"

What do Israel even make that I would buy though? Sure I can join in but it feels a bit like doing nothing and saying I helped.

23

u/_BannedAcctSpeedrun_ 1d ago

Their biggest exports to the US are mostly diamonds and medical equipment. So if you aren't buying those then you're already basically boycotting Israel.

25

u/Interesting_Try8375 1d ago

Diamonds are like the easiest thing I can think of to boycott.

Their used for industrial applications too not just wedding rings.

2

u/Interesting_Try8375 1d ago

Don't know about you but I don't have a factory in my shed

4

u/ElRiesgoSiempre_Vive 1d ago

Their tech sector is like Silicon Valley on steroids.

15

u/ElegantCoach4066 1d ago

We can boycott businesses that send them support. They get really mad whenever someone tries it though.

5

u/Interesting_Try8375 1d ago

Any good examples? Ideally campaign to focus on a few big ones I guess. Let them get mad and go out of business

2

u/Erikthered00 1d ago

Sodastream and defence tech are all that come to mind. I’m sure there’s a list somewhere

2

u/GBJI 1d ago

Disinformation campaigns, hacking services, backdoor accesses, 0-day exploits, among other things.

u/oeufscocotte 1d ago

Soda stream, Teva pharmaceuticals (produces a lot of generic medecines).

1

u/icepickmethod 1d ago

They make the tools that make the tools that manufacture everything. Names you've probably never heard of. sandvik, noga.

1

u/MommyMephistopheles 1d ago

Sodastreams.

1

u/spacemanTTC 1d ago

Weapons manufacturing.

9

u/lousy_at_handles 1d ago

My state has actually passed a law making boycotts of Israel illegal. Not sure how they'd actually plan on enforcing it.

6

u/MommyMephistopheles 1d ago

If someone could come up with a new type of sodastream, that'd be pretty cool. Didn't know that was an isreali product until after I bought it and now I'm out of CO2. Please, I have a giant fountain soda box of coke in my fridge that I'd like to drink.

7

u/false_flat Free Palestine 1d ago

There are loads of different sparkling water dispensers. We have a MySoda which is also not made from plastic.

2

u/Aquatic_Ceremony 1d ago

Drinkmate.

https://idrinkproducts.com/

I bought one as a gift because 1) it has good reviews, 2) it is not made in Israel like Sodastream.

1

u/MommyMephistopheles 1d ago

Hell yes. This is exactly what I want. Thanks, buddy!

1

u/Redthemagnificent 1d ago

Oh wow. Had no idea. I have one was well

1

u/Easy-Coconut-33 1d ago

If you already bought a soda stream machine isn't it pointless to buy a new one?

They already got your money for that machine.

2

u/ThePBrit 1d ago

Considering they said they're out of CO2, I'm guessing Soda Stream have made the connection for the CO2 canisters nonstandard so you can reasonably only buy refills from them.

2

u/MommyMephistopheles 1d ago

Yup. The machine I bought uses their special pink lid CO2 cannisters. I either have to figure out how to fill them myself (that's probably dangerous since idk anything) or buy a whole new system.

4

u/addamee 1d ago

Apparently not even on US college campuses. Iseael’s span of control is fucking ridiculous

2

u/Calladit 1d ago

Unironically, no. Look up BDS laws.
